The Sentinel did not wait for the rest. When the path ahead became clear, he--not wanting to rely upon his still-mending leg, which ached at times--called upon his magicka, instead. Ethereal blue wings flared out to either side, sparking an aura like distant fireflies around him.

He rose up a little, swathed in wisps of blue, and (careful not to rise too high lest the magic fail and break the leg again) the Sentinel swept forward, halberd in hand, to investigate. He would see what there was to see--and then report back, and ask Master Vargas if he knew what any of this meant... or even was.

The child pouted, briefly, when nobody seemed to really answer him aside from a possible and vague "I don't know" sort of response. Sullen, he tried again to call for a little red light to guide him. For a moment, as others filed off ahead into the dark, Bez simply stood there struggling with a magic that did not come.

"Stupid," he muttered, with the quick anger of the very young, and then set to stomping off down the tunnel after the rest.
