Cyg wasn't supposed to be this far from home, he was pretty sure. But it wasn't as if he had left the cave or anything! He had been just been exploring, and then he had saw something a bit worrying, and he wanted to be sure of himself before he did anything. Really, he was putting a great deal of thought into things, which was better than he usually did.

What had caught his eye had been the white color in this cave, usually so colorful. One of the Mystfoxes, but a pretty young one, and white, unlike any other one he'd seen. They were usually shade of pastels, and he kept his distance because they were big and he was small.

But this one was smaller, and it was crying, and no one came to its aid. Maybe its parent had only left recently, though. So Cyg had wandered off, caught a lesser mouse, and figured that if it was gone by the time he got back, he'd just eat the mouse himself. It would probably be gone.

It was not gone, though. It had stopped crying, but it had grown no less pitiful for that. Somehow, it seemed even more pitiful, all alone and quiet.

Cyg approached on quiet cat and bird feet. "Uhm, hello, would you like some food?" Though his mama said lessers couldn't understand, and he certainly couldn't understand the kit, he wanted to be polite.

He dropped the mouse before the kit.

The kit seemed to barely take notice of him, but it certainly took notice of the mouse, devouring it ravenously. Cyg felt bad he hadn't thought to catch more, but then again, he could only carry so much food.

He wished he could somehow communicate with the kit, tell it that he could give it more food, if only it followed him. Instinctively, he felt his magic reaching out towards the kit.

And suddenly there was a connection, and the fox kit looked at him. Suddenly, Cyg understood it was a she, and she was hungry, but also lonely, and her parents were gone though and had been gone, though she knew they would not be back, she had waited regardless.

Cyg felt himself mentally promising that she would never be lonely again, that they could be friends like Vaati and his mama, and his mama would like her, promise.

The mystfox kit finally got up, inching closer. He was her family now, then? And Cyg said yes. And his family would be her family, forever.

Though the kit had a hesitance to bridge the gap, Cyg did not, nuzzling his new friend-family.

Cyg asked her through their mental bond what she ate, and she sent impressions of all sorts of food. And then another impression, that of... magic.

Rather than fearful, Cyg felt awed. What an amazing creature she was, being able to eat even magic.

Though he usually used his wisps as companions, they did not think, so it was okay for him to summon some as food for this being, who was family now.

The kit brightened at the sight of the wisp, and then she pounced on it and it flickered from existence, feeding her.

He would summon more, and by the time they got back home, she would be full. And then... he'd get to introduce her to mama!
