The question came, expected, and Eleanora smiled softly, lowering her own cup. They seemed safe enough, trustworthy enough to tell this to. It wasn't exactly her deepest secret, but if certain ones were to find out, she could be in danger. Although she had yet to cross paths with anyone of the sort.

"Yes," she said, quietly. "He is on Let. The surface." She paused. "That is where I am from as well. Where I will never return. And that's where I learned to do all of this. The people of my village learned these skills over many years of living in the wilds of the Vaa."

She went quiet, taking more sips of her tea. "I'm sure you have questions about it. I will answer whatever you'd like."

Kafziel... had never considered that there might be a surface, for all that there were caves within the caves, and there were ceilings, they had never thought of a beyond where others might also be living. His gaze was wide at the information, but he did not immediately respond.

Instead, he thoughtfully sipped his tea. "You must know a lot," they spoke softly, with a hint of awe. "May I ask why you came here from the surface? And why you cannot go back?" he inquired, voice still softspoken, but somehow even gentler.

They were so very curious, but they tried to restrain themself to two questions for now. "I didn't ever consider there might be a surface, before," they admitted.

"I'm not surprised the surface is a new concept to you," she hummed thoughtfully as she looked into the mug, her reflection wavering ever-so-gently on the surface. "There is no way to get there from in here, as far as I know." She sighed and that sadness washed over her again, sadness so deep she thought her heart would explode. She'd never see the sky, nor the sun, not the stars or the clouds ever again.

But- "I came here to find Lilith - my partner. We have a bond and not even two hundred years apart could break it." It was all worth it for her. She would have traded the universe to see Lilith again. "I don't know how she fell into the caves - we were separated long ago and I thought she was dead. But when I felt her awaken on the other side, I stopped at nothing to get here."

She drained the last of her cup and set it aside. "But that was a while ago. We've been together for many cycles now - we've built this, a little piece of home for ourselves."
