He was hungry, wanting something good to eat, something large enough to fill him without having to do more hunts. It wasn't long until he found something, a meadow deer straying a bit too far from its herd, a tragic mistake. He pounce easily and effortlessly, having regained his motor skills after having come out of hibernation.
He pounced on the creature and, before it could even begin to fight, he called upon his powers, shocking the poor thing with a nasty volt. It wasn't fully enough to kill it outright, but was enough to stun it, giving him enough time to bite down, sinking his teeth into its neck and killing it before the herd could even full react.
It was his, he had done it, and he couldn't help the little coo of happiness he ended up making, content with himself for a spotless kill.

As she tread through the meadow, every so often the sight of a colorful flower would draw the girl's attention and so she would bob, like a dippy-bird, to inspect it. A sniff, maybe. A nibble at a petal if the color seemed appealing enough. Sometimes she'd dip towards the grass for a nibble there instead, and once satisfied she would move along. It was a peaceful thing, this meadow. Jampa had come to like it very much.
A brilliant yellow flower caught her attention next. As she moved carefully closer to it, and began to bow as she had before, there was a shadow that crossed over the meadow that she mostly ignored; then, the sound of something heavy meeting the grassland. The instinct to hold back and maybe look around, rather than seek the flower, was what prompted Jampa to pause a moment; and then she thought she tasted ozone, although she would not have that word for it. She turned to look one way and then another, seeing... the herd.
They were cave-born creatures, and they had accepted her upon their meadow with an initial trepidation. By now, as she's only recently returned to herself, she did not know how many made up the herd on a normal day, and so she would not have noticed the missing body if it wasn't for the massive, dark, winged creature that perched now within the green. The herd looked to be milling about, their individual attention fixated on the shape the same way Jampa's was - but they did not run, at least not yet.
Curiosity drew Jampa along towards the herd, and maybe it was her own movement that proved to be too much for the rest of them; a few did move, heralding her arrival, and others moved in a reactionary arc away from the gembounds, and their lost family member. Oblivious to loss herself, Jampa approached with the same innocence she approached everything - bright eyed, eager, and foolishly unafraid.
"Hello!" She greeted, moving towards the stranger's flank at first, and then upon recognizing that they were perched upon something, she moved around their tensed body to try and find a face. That seemed only polite. Jampa was unaware of the danger she might be placing in her own path, but she would not vilify someone without due cause, and so far this stranger appeared to only be a possible new friend.
The herd pulled back and away, and one of Jampa's ears flicked back as she followed the sounds of their bodies in the grass. Her wings, tucked as she walked the grassland, flexed out a little bit. "I think you've scared them. But that's okay, they'll get used to you and --" it was in this moment she saw the toothy face, the bloody body in its grasp, and the shape of one of the herd collapsed and dead, pushed in to the dirt - and blanched.

He saw nothing wrong with what he was doing. So when another approached, he lifted his head and cocked it to the side curiously. Normally he would have snapped, snarled and lunged to get them away from his kill, his trophy, but this creature was interesting to him. They looked so similar to the creature he was currently eating but so different at the same time.
With little sense of right and wrong, he simply assumed they were hungry, but he didn't want to share, he had gone through so much hard work to get this one! But at the same time, something about their colorations made him relax, enjoying the light colors of their coat. You have leg, no more. He offered with a grumble, unsure why he was even being nice, though he told himself that it wasn't like he would eat all of it anyway, though he likely could if he tried.
Pulling off one of the dead creature's back leg, rather forcefully and gruesomely, he would toss it at their feet, assuming they would take the gift happily and eat it. After all, he was doing a good thing, right? Sharing?

The creature -- she couldn't focus. The creature before her was draconic; it had big fleshy wings, but that wasn't what horrified her. She saw -- there was the creature there, but the pieces beneath it, with a face like her own and yet wingless, and bloodied? Bloodied. That's what that was -- blood. A sort of cognitive dissonance frissioned through Jampa as her brain tried to make sense of the scene.
The words didn't make sense either, to the obligate herbivore. A leg? A leg. That was -- that was food? That thing was eating the little cave deer that looks like Jampa. She blinks; all of this fritzing through her brain in that immediate half-second between syllables spoken. The creature speaking was more like Jampa in many ways than the dead thing on the ground! But - but - but ... !!
The feathers upon Jampa's shoulders plumed up, and her chest puffed, and her wings opened and with a vigorous beat of her wings she pushed herself backwards; thankful for her light and hollow bones, and for the distance this would force between her and the scene. She had no words for this! It was like seeing one part of herself eating another -- horrifying.

He blinked up at the creature unsure why they were having so much issue. He shrugged slightly as he reached out with one clawed hand, pulling the hunk of meat they had offered back to themselves. If they didn't want it, then he wasn't going to let it go to waste.
He simply shrugged and continued to tear into the carcass like it was nothing, grunting and grumbling softly under his breath, clearly enjoying his meal. He wasn't trying to be mean, he just didn't understand what was going on with the other creature.
However, them staring was starting to get to him and he looked up at them, flinching away as they created a small dust storm, making him growl, snapping his jaws together in a soft but quick click. Stop stare. He growled, his hackles raising slightly, borne from a dislike of being watched and stared at. Why not eat? He finally asked, blood still staining his jaws as he didn't bother to clean himself up, letting it drip down his chin and into the fluffy fur on his chest.
