it had been a while since i'd been back to canis, having just left mom and pounce for a bit to travel back to the bonebound's home. i just wanted some time alone, not that i didn't love the both of them like family - because i did. but sometimes i felt trapped, and wanted to just break free and fly above them both where i could have what i call 'ambrus' time. but alas, these wings were still useless. i shook them, angry at the fact that the browning feathers were still unable to take flight. i hopped along through the area, inspecting it carefully so that i could map it out mentally.

azurite lenses surveyed the area, and i realized it might be a good time to practice my magic while being alone. it wouldn't hurt anyone else if i were to be successful, and i seriously needed to get more experienced. i picked out a rock, a small-ish rock that would be my victim. i chirped a screech, grasped it with my talons and slammed it back to the dried mud with a powerful jump. my leather pack smacking against my side as i did so, a wing expanded to pat it to make sure the gem mom had given me was still in it. i then summoned my magic, pulling energy from my stone to attempt and charge the rock of electricity. but after moments, several moments, of attempting to conduct charge to the object, i'd realized i'd failed. energy had been sucked from me and i took a few deep breaths as i grumbled angrily to myself.

It had been some time since she’d actually interacted with another. For the most part, after losing contact with Niru in the caves the little wolf had wandered alone. Those whom she’d had contact with had been…far from understanding. Belittlement and violence often accompanied the girl when she was forced to interact with others and because of that she had found a small hole her little body could squeeze through in one of the caverns and had remained there for as long as she could without water or food. When venturing out became necessary, she would ease drop on conversations here and there when she could. Learning about the world she’d been born into, and some other interesting tidbits about herself and the fantastic things she could do if she tried. Today, one of the few times she came from her darkened hole in the ground she had come with a purpose. To practice this ‘magic’ others kept talking about. The area in which she’d chosen was perhaps not entirely secluded but it was empty at the time. Her little black form with his ugly deformities strolled out from behind a row of rocks, citrine eyes glancing about the area to make sure she was alone. Once solitude had been discerned the ebony wolf pup set her half blinded sights upon a large rock pushed up against one of the cavern walls.

Tiny paws spread apart, allowing the child a rock solid stance as her gaze narrowed in on the stone. With the intake of a breath she closed those eyes, focusing on herself and remembering what she had over heard. Aleera searched into herself, focused on her crystal until she could no longer hold her breath and her lungs burned with desperation. Luminous eyes shot open as her head was thrown back and then forward again, little jaws of needle sharp teeth opening wide to release what she hoped was something like magic. What sprang forth was her own breath, hard and fast right up until she thought her lungs could produce no more air...and suddenly, a blast of heat radiated forth and hit the rock hard enough to blow off a few waves of dust. With nothing left in the tank Aleera sucked in a breath, and also a mouthful of dust and began to cough harshly, her entire body heaving with the attempt. Her tongue also stung a bit from the use of magic for the first time, but when all this began to subside she jumped up around with a yip or two to exclaim her excitement, missing completely the little bird who now hopped into view. At least until the sounds of the birds own magic experiment resounded in the gave, and Aleera quickly came to a halt, orange eyes wide as she peered across the way to the other, words escaping her as all possibilities suddenly began to run through her mind and desire to run and hide riding up her spine.

{trying thid person with ambrus, let's see how this goes}

another screech escaped as the browning bird now spotted the ebony pup. azurite lenses observed the creature before he flapped flightless wings, it seemed the opposing force attempted magic as well. ambrus was highly offended by this, his chest swelling with air as cream and brown feathers poofed in protest. his head cocked to the side and he chirped a short lived screech before attempting to conduct another spell, hoping to ward off the ugly creature which lurked in the home of the bonebound. he summoned his magic yet again, wondering if the creature would feel any of his statics. soon, he could feel his body being charged with his magic. it was particularly strong, and when it ended, he hopped toward the creature again. his limbs spread wide, his head lowered and his head and parted his beak.

"what are you doing in canis?!"

juvenile tones cawed out at the pup, flightless wings spread slightly, trying to be as threatening as possible. he wasn't sure how successful he was in this display, however it was about all he had. he knew the two predators would be matched, and she had a magic he'd never seen before. his fear transformed into sheer anger as he accused the wolf of being an intruder.

The tiny bird with it's maturing feathers puffed up as big as it's body would allow and released a fearful and then angered shriek from a razor sharp beak. Aleera remained where she had been, little legs trembling ever so slightly as she observed the other young gembound who could be no older than she herself. Still, this did not do much to deter the rising fear welling up in her chest, for interaction often spelled pain in a number of ways for the little wolf...and all she had wanted to do was practice her magic in peace. The creature was barely her size but it was often that realistic attributes held no baring upon someone who suffered so from such awful anxiety at merely look at another individual. She wished nothing more at this point to have Niru around, but the lion had been lost to her for weeks now among the caves and tunnels...She was on her own, and she had to accept that. Then, before Aleera could really do much of anything the bird summoned magic once again, manifesting in visible pops of electricity that lunged about his little form before they jumped the space between them and reaching the black wolf in the blink of an eye.

A painful yelp exploded from the young gembounds jaws as she was hit full on with the attack, forcing her to jump back and stumble slightly at the mere shock of the incident. She felt no real pain in it but her limbs grew a tad numb and did not respond as well to her desire to get back on her feet. Still, fear and now anger rallied her limbs to move as she stood back up and turned lava like eyes back upon the small bird as he squealed his question which demanded an answer. She was still afraid, but anger was often a powerful emotion and pushed most of her fear aside to peer upon the little bird a bit more ruthlessly than before. "Is there a rule that says I can not be?" She asked, taking a suddenly bold step forward toward the little bird and sucking in a breath. If he wanted to test his skills on her, than she would do the same! Her breath burst forth again from her jaws, little more than a tiny wind until she reached near empty in fuel for the attack until again, that last spurt threw out an incredibly hot wave of air to would ward just about anyone back for a moment. Aleera sucked in a trying breath again to ease the pain in her chest, her tongue now burning even more from the use of these magics.

she reciprocated, offering her own magic which blasted upon the eaglet's face. he stumbled back from the sheer shock from it, he wasn't expecting the reaction. he shook his head, cawing a little before he fluttered his wings again. flight wasn't possible right now, his feathers still not strong enough to catch a gust of wind. a sneer placed upon his stark yellow beak and he erected his posture, reflecting pride. the bird preened before the wolf and he closed his eyes while he spoke.
"perhaps azazel should deal with you."
as if ignorance was bliss, little ambrus had no idea that azazel probably wouldn't care that the wolf pup was passing through. in fact, the bone king might even be watching them now. ambrus returned his expression to an angry outlook, while he began approaching the wolf pup. he crept closer, and closer, holding his body parallel with the rock flooring, hoping to scare the little pup even more. and as he got close, he noticed her nasty deformities, and wondered what she might have gotten into. he stopped, and broke out into a laugh.
"did you meet raheerah? or were you born that ugly!"
he cackled a childish glee, a wing unfurling to grasp at his midsection. when he'd finished his little onslaught, ambrus attempted at closing the gap once again, and a leap was executed from juvenile limbs, flightless wings fluttering about as the eaglet attempted to grasp at the wolf pup's hide with his sharp beak and talons - the ultimate goal to climb atop her back.

The bird stumbled when he was hit with sudden wave of heat, but he was also quick to recover, taking half the time she had with his attack. It became clear to her in those three moves that the other was stronger than her, even if it was only by a little. He must have had more practice or something, and anger slowly devolved back into fear, evident in how she stepped back from the eagle when he looked back upon her with determination and resentment. Quickly he picked at his feathers, vain creature, before her spoke to her and using a name the ebony pup did not know. Perhaps that was the older gembound this little one had attached itself to upon birth, sort of like how she had with Niru, only she'd lost track of him completely and he was the same age as she. Aleera did not respond to this, threat, and instead simply remained where she was while the young bird began to awkwardly approach her with a hopping movement. It was clear he was not meant for the ground but he wasn't old enough to fly like she had seen many others of his type do.

As he drew closer, attempting to close the gap between them Aleera took steps backward in an attempt to keep the distance. She didn't want anyone near her if she could help it, but the bird insisted until he could see more clearly the marks upon her skin. Where fur refused to grow and what remained were ugly scales that went so far as to blind her in one eye. Rather than feel pity, or perhaps even disgust, the young gembound burst into laughter with an insult that included another name she was not familiar with and insinuated that if that person had not done this to her she must have been born this ugly. The wolf pup flinched and took another step back, knowing she could not possibly hope to harm him with just this heat blast she was able to conjure. Before she could even begin to answer the bird he suddenly leapt at her with thorn sharp talons and beak, aiming for her exposed hide. His claws dug deep into her unprotected flesh and drew blood, forcing and ear piercing yelp to escape Aleera as she felt shimmy his way further upon her back.

Her heart beat fast in her chest, and her thoughts became a blur before she was just overran with the intense and distinct drive to get this bird off her back and break it's legs! Without really thinking about it Aleera threw herself to the right, slamming her side into the ground in which the bird had begun to climb hoping to at least force him to let go. Her little body kept with movement, leaving no time for anything else as she rolled clear over her back until her feet reached the hard ground once more.

the ugly thing was quick on her feet, ambrus had to give her that. for as soon as he'd been able to grasp at her, she lunged for the ground with the corresponding side. he was mushed beneath her larger weight, and expelled a screech of defiance as he then wriggled himself out from beneath her. he wheezed for breath, hopped a few feet away then turned quickly to attempt to charge her with electricity again. the eaglet summoned his magic, growing more exhausted by the minute with it an knew that he couldn't keep this up forever. but he was too tired, and the summoning failed. not even a spark was given to him as he screeched a loud caw of animosity.

"you ugly thing! answer me. were you born like that? puh!"

how rude! she didn't even have he audacity to answer the eaglet, so he would ask again. he ruffled his feathers again, returning to his preening prideful stance as he waited for her next move - as he was too physically tired to execute anything else at the moment.

Aleera returned to the solid stance she had been in before, paws spread apart even as pain surged along her side where the small cuts of the bird remained despite her having successfully removed him from her form. Black fur rose in delicate little spikes as she lowered her head, watching as the bird hopped off with a screech, and it didn't take much to realize he was attempting to summon his magics again. What little muscle the pup had to move her form tensed, readying to take on the explicit zap that his previous magic had forced upon her. However, all of this seemed needless as the little bird was unable to summon anything more from his crystal and instead returned to his prideful preening while he demanded again from her the reasoning behind her deformities. Adrenaline coursed through her little form still and instinct took place over fear nor anger and for the first time in any interaction both peaceful or violent, twisted lips pulled back to reveal her dangerous little teeth to contort her features even further in an unappealing nature. "As far as I can tell fluff for brains, that's none of your business!" She snarled, or as much as a young gembound could sound threatening.

Fear did not seem to permeate the child's features anymore, instead she seemed rather livid. If it had been the birds intent to make an enemy today, he had done so, and for his sake she hoped there was someone around to pick him up when she knocked him down. The obsidian pup threw her head back again with a deep breath, and threw it forward again with the intent to blast the stupid thing with a heat wave once more. Only this time that heat wave did not come to her, either with too little focused energy or simple inexperience, all she managed to do was blow out her own breath in a similar failing attempt as the bird had. Her bore teeth remained, a single word spilling out from behind them. "Jerk."

"fluff for brains."
ambrus had never been called such before. he glared angrily at the wolf pup, preening again as he erected his posture to reflect pride.
"i am not fluff for brains. i'm ambrus, duh!"
perhaps the little eaglet wasn't the smartest, but he did have lots of growing to do. in both size and maturity. even still, he looked upon the marred wolf with disgust and curiosity. how'd she get that, and what even was it? and why hadn't he had any deformities? vicktor didn't have any, neither did mom. ..mom, ambrus's face flushed. if mom saw him acting this way, she'd be very displeased. he wanted to turn, run and hide, but he couldn't. he now felt obligated to apologize to the wolf pup, but he couldn't bring himself to do such a thing. he could hear mom's voice now,
"ambrus, where are your manners? it hurts me to see you being so mean to this poor little creature. think of how you'd feel."
the eaglet shook his head, little feathers fluffing about and a few pricking off to float softly to the ground.

The bird continued to pick at his feathers, vain thing, and regard Aleera with disdain. Of course, the look and feeling was quite mutual. Then he called out to her regards to what she said, saying he was not 'fluff for brains', that he was Ambrus. Aleera's angered look faltered to disbelief. "You certainly are if you don't even know an insult when you hear one." She huffed with a roll of her eyes. The wolf pup turned then with a flick of her tail, casting one more side long look of disgust at the bird to turn and head back the way she'd come but not before she spoke again. "I couldn't care less who you are." She remarked coldly. Though her anger had momentarily erased her fear, it was slowly beginning to return and the desire to remove herself from this place determining this particular move. In experience left her back wide open to the bird, should he choose to attack her again.
