The Bonebound was full of life again. Full of youth, and what a wonderous thing it was! Kerberos could hardly sit still. He had been trying to hold back-- Giggle's babies were so small yet, and even though he was as careful as a big brother could be, it was still hard to play with something you could squash with one paw.

Maybe that was why he had found himself digging around Canis for stones in the piles of bones and bones and... more bones. Really, he didn't know what he was looking for. He hadn't the magical talent for seeking things. He was more of a... Well. Laser beams.

He didn't really want to think of his previous kids right now. He felt as though he had let them down, though in many ways they had just slowly disappeared from his life in the way that many other gembound had. At least he had Giggle, and the Bonebound, and maybe...

Ohhh, was that a rock? It kind of looked like a rock. It was clear, white, and shiny. It was attached to a large hunk of bone... Giggle would have probably recognized it as an ankle bone, but to Kerberos it was simply. A bone! A gemstone attached to a bone!

He had no idea if it had the capacity for life. In fact, he had no idea that gemstones could be inert. He had no reason to think that it would or could be a thing. Luckily for Kerberos, he was not going to be unlucky with this particular gemstone.

That first stone took his magic well, beginning to thrum with energy. At least, Kerberos thought it had taken the magic well... It was hard to tell. He had expected it to start growing really fast and attach to the ground, but not yet. He hadn't been there for the other revivals... His ears flicked and he exchanged looks with himself, before clearing the space around the little stone. He made a ring of bones, and just as he was placing the last one, he noticed a sparkle of blue not far away.

Was that another stone? Ears pricking, he scrambled over to it, sniffing it with-- well, two noses (he couldn't fit his third head in there!)-- at the wide, v-shaped blue star sapphire covered in dust and.. bone dust.

This was definitely a gemstone. He picked it up in his teeth and carried it over to the other stone, placing it beside its soon-to-be sibling. Kerberos hadn't had siblings, not at birth... though, Bones was wonderful. Yes, it would be good for this one to have a brother. Or sister? Hm.

Kerberos stared at his two new budding children, feeling somewhat restless after spending the energy. He eventually walked away, but there was something about it that was bothering him.

He eventually figured it out. Three heads. He needed three babies. It was the only logical conclusion. After searching the rest of the day for another stone to no avail, he flopped down beside his stones, huffing.

It would only be a short time later that a jackal would find him there, and after explaining his woes-- and what a good family he would provide-- he would receive one final stone. A delicate piece of Creedite; a honey-orange cluster of a gemstone, no bigger than one of his toe nails. It took careful nosing to put it into place, as he was quite worried the flimsy stone would break under his teeth.

Once finally set among the others, he took a deep breath, and gave the last bit of magical energy he had for the day to that precious, wonderful piece of rock.

Hopefully they would grow. Hopefully they would become new family members. Maybe-- just maybe-- they would be big enough that he could play with them. For now though, he was worn out, and he rolled on to his back and began to snooze.
