Somehow, Ishani's words got them past the massive valkhound. A quick snatch-up of one of the flags and they were racing down the tunnel and out into the flat stretch of land that led to the finish line. Immediately, Buckley pushed forward, before Gore was ready to follow up with the back legs, leading to a very sudden jerk in the body that immediately tripped him up. Gore snorted its surprise as Buckley crashed headfirst into the ground, limbs tangled.

Ishani hissed behind them. "Fool," she groaned as she curled over them. "Hurry, get back up, before we embarrass ourselves further."

"Buckley is speaking!" "GORE IS SPEAKING!!!" "Ishani is speaking..."

Quick observation hadn't lied to him: while small, the momentary space that'd opened just above Tectus' shoulder proved enough to fit the body of a leaping kangaroo. Silently he slipped through, his presence nothing more than a short breeze drifting by. Then Richter stuck the landing on the other side, strong limbs absorbing well the hard impact against the ground. Long ears flopped as he glanced about himself in search of the next and final task required for the course's completion. So much bulk blocking the cave's entrance dimmed the interior somewhat; thankfully, since his eyesight wasn't overly reliant on lighting, the flags spread out at the very back remained distinct from the shadows settling over them.

A bright blue cloth stood out most from the array, and upon noticing it, claws immediately snatched up that particular flag. Mind set on the finish line, although not overly hurried, never once did Richter pause his hops. Stable footing persisted even while the downward slope of the tunnel he entered sought to challenge it.

And as for the occasional give of soil underneath, those hidden obstacles in his path? They might as well not have existed, each pitfall evaded long before they could entrap an unfortunate step.
