Kneeling down, she watched the small pile of dirt between her feet. She used her power, willing the little seed that she had buried to sprout, gently urging it to push out from under the dirt. It took a few moments but sure enough, she saw a sprout, her eyes widening as she giggled softly to herself. Look! It worked! She glanced over at her companion, a giggle escaping her. We did it Fernie.

It wasn't anything super important, just a trial run more than anything, but it was progress and that meant everything. So, standing up, she wiped her hands on her pants and began to search around for plants and herbs, wanting to gather some seeds for later use, now that she knew she could help them grow.

Lacerta's jungle was dangerous.

Not a little dangerous, in the way that Eridanus might be if someone stumbled on a Golden Charger. But really dangerous, in the sense that predators lurked in the shadows, and all of them were potentially deadly, and a creature like Flower would make a perfect meal.

Maybe she didn't know that.

But as she spotted a pretty, and very strange, new herb--something with pitcher-like flowers in a deep, ruby red--she'd start to get the prickling sense that she was being watched.

The flowers were interesting enough. A faintly sweet yet carrion odor emanated from within. There was a spice to it, a sharp tang to the scent. But a more immediate point of interest was that the jungle around her had gone rather quiet.
