VALKHOUND SOLDIERS
Event Details
The following three Valkhound characters have been created for a war off-world
(click for in-character post).
Winners will be chosen in two weeks' time. Two weeks later, these characters will hatch. After
four cycles' time, these characters will be whisked away to a world on another world, Elsewhere, to fight a battle.
This battle will be a DM'd event, with some luck-based rolls, but the training (advancement & spells, tactics & techniques) learned by the characters during their preparatory four cycles will heavily influence their success or failure. Survivors, having proven their worth, will be returned to the cave, and given their choice from among the following rewards (still tentative and subject to change):
1. A guaranteed-revive Valkhound oilstone and a free Give Life spell.
or
2. An enchanted piece of armor, weapon, or other item of the character's choice, to be created by the Blacksmith.
or
3. Any three spells, tactics, or techniques of the character's choice, with a limit of 1 Specialty Spell. (Characters must choose from among spells they can learn; ex. Corrupted characters still cannot learn spells of other Elements, and Transcendent spells are exclude).
Players may also volunteer existing Valkhounds--characters with Oilstone gemstones--or characters with gemstones previously corrupted by Oilstone--to participate, including newly created RCS characters made for the event. Signups will take place later on; characters may immediately hear the rumors of recruitment and begin discussing it, with Master Vargas reluctantly informing Chaos Forge (but suggesting that those with important roles remain behind).
Please let us know which character or characters you are interested in! Winners can only win one creation, and priority will be given to those who have not previously won a raffle Valkhound. Minor edits are allowed after GM approval; winners may choose the characters' elements and names. These characters will not be given a Chaos Forge Designation, and are
not required to join the Chaos Forge group to participate.

'Corrupted Myth'
A sickly pale lilac equine, its curved horn a mockery of ancient myth. What looks like a delicate and gentle creature at first glance can split its jaw, lengthwise and width-wise both, to become a gaping maw filled with jagged fangs. The sharp cloven hooves at the hind feet are mirrored by dual claws at the front, meant for hooking in and ripping flesh. Quills lay hidden in the plush fur of the tail, a tail built like a savage whip. It is a creature of beautiful cruelty. Size: seven feet tall at the horn-tip. Oilstone location: horn tip.
'The Shellback'
A bulky creature, amphibiously built. Its thick flesh is rubbery and wet along the green u nderside, with an armored and segmented violet-magenta shell lining its back. Four suction-toed feet with sharp talons and webbing provide locomotion, and a second, muscled pair of forelimbs sport two hook claws, not unlike the forelegs of the Corrupted Myth. A surprisingly fast swimmer and not hampered by muddy terrain. Glowing tips to the toxic tail-quills match the long, sticky tongue, which along with its broad, strong jaw, ensures that smaller prey do not escape--and larger prey find it no easy opponent. Size: fifteen feet long including the tail. Oilstone location: four "horns."
'The Bird'
The largest, but lighter-built than The Shellback. It is lanky, tall, walking on short well-muscled hind legs and oversized, quill-tipped wings. A long, thick paddle tail is studded likewise with stiff, stabbing quills; the heron-like neck ends in an entire stabbing face not unlike a bird's skull, but lined with sharp teeth, gleaming with Chaotic light. The entire body is coated in oily feathers, iridescent and gleaming green to violet depending on the light. Size: ten feet tall. Oilstone location: jagged rock at sternum.
