South-West Quadrant — Centaurus

Centaurus is currently dreaming of frozen alien worlds.

Terrain is relatively flat but with rolling hills, flooded by frigid seas.
Plant Life is aquatic, cold-adapted, and indigos shading into black.
Humidity is flooded. Thick fogs and constant storms limit visibility. A temporary sea tunnel has opened to Leo.
The sky projected onto the cave ceiling is dark and stormy.
Temperature is bitterly cold, always below freezing, snowy and icy.
Weather is violent. Storms are constant, the wind destructive.
Wildlife population is medium, and exclusively aquatic, with alien fish of various sizes.

LOCATIONS

Barracks
Along the rear (northwestern) wall of the cave, a large stone barracks with many rooms is carved from the cave itself. The barracks are sealed by a weatherproof door (knock for entry).
The Breach
Through the center of the room is a long rift in the stone, like a ravine. Much of The Breach's floor is a long vein of Oilstone. The Breach is currently covered by deep, frigid seas.
The Oubliette
A single-room dungeon, underground, between the Barracks and the Breach and surrounded by tunnels. This room has only two access points: a tunnel leading out onto a snowy island, and a metal grate blocked by ice above. Chains attached to winches lead into a very large chrysalis atop a large, stone structure like a throne or chair at the rear of this room. The Dreamer is held by these chains.
The Maw
A very short, broad, dark tunnel lacking functional light orbs, its walls cooled molten glass. From Hydra, it resembles the open mouth of a giant Sandworm: a rounded hole at a steep angle down into the Dunes. It emerges into Centaurus as a narrow gap between two tall rock outcrops against the cave's eastern wall. Its near-side mouth currently emerges onto a snowy spit of land that plunges into the breakers.

More words flowed from Luna: for someone who was allegedly often betrayed by them, Rena thought they were still rather good at them. Somehow, they managed to depict something—an ambition that to Rena felt like hunger—that she would normally have expected to experience directly as emotion in another's brain, through only their spoken voice. Maybe it was an indication of how much Luna loved words that they thought there was still room for improvement.

"I didn't think about it that way. Instead of getting better at words, I always wanted to get better at things I could physically do. Like hunt, fight, or cleaning and organizing." It helped, Rena supposed, that communicating intent was already taken care of in the Hive. All the others needed to know was that Rena was eager and ready to help, and the kinds of things she was reasonably good at doing. And big, glorious, ideas: Mother was their leader in those, and there were others who thought of more. Rena only wanted to be someone they could use to bring them to fruition. Tell her what to do and she'd do it—but not too abstractly, please. "I guess our styles complement each other." A good thing for partners, no? She was sure she could help bring Luna's ideas to fruition, too—they seemed like they would know how to use Rena's abilities to their fullest extent. "What kind of ideas?"

Luna's next question was a bit out of Rena's depth. It seemed like a question better fit for those with big glorious ideas of their own. Still, Rena had spent enough time steeped in dreams and stories of Order's ideal world that she could make an attempt at answering. "Life here is so... messy. People wandering without purpose, fighting each other, being lost from the people they know, or working hard on something just to have it undone by someone else." Exhibit A: Eridanus. "We should be part of something more. Where each person has found their own place, using their skills to contribute to the whole. We would live our lives in dignity and fulfillment, supporting others and supported by others. We wouldn't be afraid of weakness or danger, because together we could defeat threats that would have crushed anyone alone. People with ideas would have the support to achieve them, and people with strength would find the direction to use it."
