It had been a few days since Deus had emerged from her stone ('emerged' being the improper term, more like 'evicted') and since then, nothing had really changed. She had gotten hungrier as time progressed, but the poor girl didn't seem to notice - or if she did, the thought soon vanished from her mind. She had abandoned her little chrysalis where it rested against the trench wall, and had busied herself with exploring her surroundings. This too was difficult; the winds howled and whipped around up above, keeping her wedged within the trench for security. Gradually, Deus made her way through the Monoceros room. Every new discovery made her pause and sniff, or lick, or sniff again - always eager to examine, and easily forgetting where she had already inspected. Eventually she would realize that her path wound in a circle, following the flow of the trench around the great twister, until she was back at the start (where her chrysalis sat, and the forever-glowing chunk of zircon she had inadvertently created). Upon finding this glowing gem shard, her reaction was always the same: a violent tail wag that made her entire rump toss too-and-fro, a big dopey grin, and a shout of complete euphoria: "Ohhh! PRETTY!"

Bevy was lost and Bevy thought she could fly but here she couldn't. The winds fought her and tossed her and hurt her and so she stayed low, frightened and fearful for what was to happen to her. She wished her bird friends were here, because maybe they would know how to handle and control the winds...

She knew she had to get back to Pisces before Cancer worried, but in her hurry she seemed to only get more lost. Now she was turned around and horribly trapped. Even with brave Ratchie in control of Bevy, they trembled, and though they managed to press on it was... Difficult. The wind seemed to pull them deeper and deeper into the vicious, hungry whirlwinds.

There was an excited shout ahead, a friendly toned voice. Hopeful, the colorful red and black bird bounced forward, wincing to fight the wind that could so easily scoop up her light, hollow boned body.

"Hello?! Help!" The bird cried out, eyes searching and finally finding a giant, fluffy thing among a bright chunk of glowy crystal. Relief filled the bird as they approached, dropping down into the trench where the wind wasn't so horrible. It was always hard to decide if they should introduce themselves as Ratchie or Bevy, or when she was in control, Enna, but usually they stuck to their collective name.

"I'm Bevy," they started, wind cutting through their small voice. How did anything find joy in this place, where the wind was so sharp? Even in the place where wind shouldn't have gone, it still cut down the gorge and ruined their colorful crimson plummage. "Can you help me..?" Oh, if only her friends were here...

Her boisterous voice echoed off of the gorge walls, but could hardly compete with the groaning wind just beyond. Deus didn't seem to notice the sound of the whistling wind, or the howling of the gales, as she was fully immersed. The light of the glimmering shard held her attention so well, she was practically oblivious to the peeping bird nearby. So oblivious that she nearly stepped on the poor thing! But the bird peeped out a sharp note, just in time for Deus to adjust her step and avoid harming Bevy. It was an awkward movement that made Deus nearly lose her balance, to stumble and trip so that her face almost slammed in to the zircon chrysalis which was nestled against the wall.

"Ooop!" The dog slurred as she overcompensated a step or two, and then there was a dull slam as she turned and caught herself against the old egg. With a yelp of surprise - since Deus had forgotten the egg was even there, despite only moments before staring at its pieces - a dull flash of light emanated from what appeared to be her chest.

(ROLL EDIT:.)

The light seeped in to the chrysalis the way a sponge absorbs water, and took on a luminous quality that brightened the gorge considerably. The light reflected and refracted inside of the zircon, casting an array of shapes across the walls. The absence of light across one clump of the ground then caught Deus' attention, whose eyes were wide with surprise. She was mystified by her own abilities (again), but then was drawn towards the dark blotch - Bevy.

Upon finding the bird huddled low, the dog carefully reached out with her nose and sniffed at the bundle of feathers. "Oh hello! Tiny thing! Tiny cute little thing! Hello!" Her tail wagged hesitantly at first, but was soon enough waving happily back and forth. She sank to her haunches, spreading her front limbs out so the bird could sit between her paws. "Did you peep-peep?"
