Both heads woke up around the same time. A large rib cage in Canis had become their self-proclaimed 'home,' for now, they were small enough to be relatively safe and hidden among the ribs. While it was safe and dark there, both Henry and Mordecai had grown relatively sick of the sight of Canis, it's bones strewn around and peculiar citizens.

Mordecai wanted to see more. Henry wanted to meet more people.

And so the two heads, perhaps for the first time, came to an agreement. It's time to leave home for a while. There was only one problem - tunnel K. The mutant snake lingered by the exit of Canis, cautiously, one head slowly turning to face the other.

"Do we have to?"
"It's the only way out."
"Maybe we shouldn't, then..."
"No, we'll be fine."

Henry knew how to move their body; a skill Mordecai could just never pick up no matter how hard he tried. The right head knew, deep down inside, it wasn't his brother's decision - it was his. For a moment, the body carrying two heads was still motionless, before the left head, Mordecai, turned to face his brother with a tilted head. "Go on. We'll be fine."

With his brother's words running through his mind, Henry began to slither forward, head touching the ground. He noticed Morty's head had lifted up a little, looking around cautiously as the two snakes made their way down tunnel K. There was an ever-present mist in this tunnel, which perhaps was the reason why it sent chills down their conjoined spine.

A little down the tunnel, it began getting hard to see. Henry wasn't sure how much was left of the tunnel, but things were.. vaguely familiar- to him, at least. The snake stopped, right head turning to the left. "Where are we, Morty?"
"Three feet from the door," sighed Mordecai.

Henry winced. His brother sounded wholly sick of him already. "No, I mean... where are we?"
Mordecai sighed and looked around. "I suppose around where we were born-- is that what you mean?"

Henry didn't reply, instead he just looked around for the broken, scarlet stone that they emerged from not too long ago. He heard Morty sigh behind him and plant his head on the cold stone floor, hissing quietly. "We shouldn't stay here long."

And with that, and a little flinch from Henry, they were on their way again, slowly slithering along the cold, dank and dreary tunnel.

To Mordecai it had felt like years that his brother had been guiding their body down the tunnel. For a moment, he felt at peace with the lack of his brother's incessant yammering going off in his ear but the silence, all together, was discomforting. He didn't want to remain in these tunnels for any longer than he had to.

"Hurry up, Heinrich," he insisted quietly; but Henry did not put himself in much of a hurry. The right head could see the exit of tunnel K and was practically meandering towards it without a care, for his safety or his brothers.

Mordecai couldn't do much else than remain where he was and wait for them to finally, after what seemed like three eternities had passed, that they exited the tunnel and into a strange new place were the ceiling shimmered. It was vastly better than the hell hole that the two-headed snake had just crawled out of and with a scowl they looked around.

Both heads were silent for a moment before Henry rather immediately continued on through Orion and towards yet another tunnel, much to Mordecai's dismay - but alas he couldn't do much else than remain where he was and observe his brother's movements and actions.
