She was curled up on a soft bed of moss with her sweet cub tucked away in the curve of her, protected by her long legs. Pounce was nice and warm, and was starting to fall asleep after another nice, long, fun day together. She felt like the days were so lovely and sweet with her Pounce, and she never wanted to leave.

She felt Pounce's breath slow down, with a yawn here or there, and she kissed them softly on their nose. Could this be any better? Could she honestly feel any happier than this?

She wanted to give something to her cub to drift off easier, but she was too tired to bring up a whole story and finish it too - she knew how elaborate she became with even the simplest of stories. She found herself humming here and there, and collecting a very simple tune.

"My love," She whispered, noting that her cub was starting to drift off. "I want to sing you a song. I was thinking something about castles and royalty. What do you want it to be about?"

He was protected, warm and close to his loving doe. The day had been full of fun and mischievous battles between the two, not to mention a dragon! But now was time for sleep, only he couldn't quite drift away. Even with the tender loving kisses from her it was no avail. The young jaguar would yawn here and there, but sleep did not arrive. Where ever it was, sleep was not anywhere in this vicinity.

Listening to her tender heartbeat it was soon that she began to hum a simple tune. His attention switched accordingly, smiling at what she was now doing. The sweet hum that escaped her was memorizing. It came so natural to her, it felt as if nothing was out of place. Eyes heavy he slowly closed them. "My love,"' She whispered; his heavy lids flashed open as he smiled at her.

She spoke about singing a song, something maybe with castles and a royal flair. Though it would have loved it hear anything she sang, she was so sweet to stop and ask what he would like. Soft smile and heavy eyes he thought about it for a moment. "Surprise me? Everything sounds so nice when you tell it! I can only imagine what a song would be like!" With tender and loving eyes he watched her. He had heard many of her stories. But a song was something completely new; but he was sure it would live up to the hype.

She hummed a jaunty little tune, joyful, a good song to hum as one walked. The words flowed together as if they were made for her and her lovely Pounce, and she sang quietly,
"There was once a knight
So fair and bold
Their heart so brave and true
They went cavorting down the lane
Right down the lanes of blue."

She liked how that sounded, and she liked comparing her lovely cub to a strong knight with a pure heart, ready to defeat the dragon and save the damsel in distress, to protect the weak and defend noble intentions.

"How does that sound? Do you like it, my brave little knight?"

She began to hum a small tune, full of joy and love he watched her through half-open eyes. Her voice so sweet, he could already see the story that she sang. It had a knight, a fair and proud knight. Just like himself! He could imagine a strong jaguar now, pure of heart walking along to the story thus far.

"How does that sound? Do you like it, my brave little knight?"

He didn't just like it, he loved it! Though he didn't expect it to be something bad. She always went above any expectations, even if the event was new! "I love it! Your voice is so beautiful!! What happens next? How does the song go?" A smile wide as he nuzzled against her. Eager for her to continue the song!

She laughed, kissing her little Pounce on the forehead. "I'm really glad you like it, my love. I'll sing the rest for you."

"They heard a cry
They couldn't deny
The sound so sweet and fair
They followed it over hill and dale
Right to the mad king's lair."

"And there they spied
A glimmering eye
A lady whose song rang clear
She sang of all her woes along
The king's war she did fear"

Her voice was picking up momentum as she sang, falling into that trance like state she did when she was telling a story. She let it control her, sweeping her along like a dream.

"Her freedom denied
She was a prisoner inside
The king's castle on the cliff
Who loved to laugh at those below
With a heart cold and stiff"

"The knight, they cried
Their heart beside
Their voice a promise true
"I'll have you down and take the crown
You won't shed another tear"

"The lady spoke
Her voice betrayed
The relief she felt at this
"Turn back, away, and leave this place
To aid me is no sweet bliss"

"Hearing them talk
The king arrived
And came with darkness deep
"Alas, you came, there's no escape
Your bones I'll crunch and eat"
