Macawi chuckled as she watched this baby Gembound attempt to move around some. But when the creature tripped and fell, and seemed winded by the whole thing, the coyote’s head lifted a bit more, ears pushing forward in concern. “Little One is having some trouble?” she asked, more to herself than to the child. Macawi was stuck, wondering whether it would be better to try and help the young one up, and potentially scare it in the process, or to just leave it be… In the end, she decided to let the babe get up on its own. She was not its mother, after all. She would watch over it, but she wouldn’t coddle it.

In an attempt to find something to do, her eyes wandered the cave, occasionally drifting back to the child. She alighted upon a small greyish pebble between her paws, and she grinned as she realized what she could do for the young one. She bent down and touched it with her nose, attempting to fill it with Light. She did not expect the Light to be so bright, and blinked multiple times in surprise as it lit with the happy yellow glow. With another grin, she pushed the pebble towards the child, and it rolled forward a little. She looked at the fossa expectantly, tail wagging.

After a time, Macawi decided that being around the child was obviously scaring it. With a small, quiet bark, she stood and trotted away, leaving it with its present. Maybe she'd see it again, when it was a bit older and less shy. Who knows!
