The two walked towards the spot she had pointed to, and Cayenne said little commands and encouragements to help the giant along as she faltered or dipped low, almost tripping over her long young legs. Cayenne held on tight, worrying for herself and the giant.

But they made it, and it made her smile to see the clearing again. Light filtered lazily from the little lights up above through the trees, and little specks danced in the beams and kissed the white flowers down below. Trees surrounded the clearing and a fallen log split one corner, covered in all sorts of fungi and moss that she had yet to experiment with.

She was trying to stick to plants first, and mushrooms later. She had tried just one and was sick for days, and she wanted to save that for when she was ready for them. She had a bad feeling about most of the fungi she came across, and for the most part, they smelled awful. A thought arrived in her mind, an adscript. Maybe they were meant to purge, or meant for negative effects? She tucked that away for later.

"Eat as many of these flowers as you like," Cayenne said as she clambered down the giant's fur to the ground. "They will help your cuts."

She watched the giant happily go over to the middle of the flowers while Cayenne looked around, seeing which flowers were the best to gather, cutting them off at the lowest point in the ground with her sharp finger. If it kept scratching her all over the place, she might as well put it to use.

Absentmindedly, as she chewed on one of the flowers and relaxing, she wished she had some sort of bag to put all this in. She couldn't hold all of the things she wanted, and having one hand hold the pieces of the giant's shell and the other hand holding a huge assortment of flowers was a little cumbersome.

The two passed the time patiently together, the giant chewing away at the flowers, mentioning that they tasted really good, but it wasn't until Cayenne heard her soft low sounds of breathing that she looked up from gathering and realized she had fallen asleep.

She smiled and went over to her, petting her nose. "Sleep well, pretty giant. I'll be back soon after I grab more plants, okay?"

Cayenne placed the bunch of flowers and the pretty purple shard near the sleeping giant and went on her way, knowing the path to the next set of plants she needed to grab....moderately well. She would find them easily enough, she thought.
She took a shortcut, since she didn't know when the young giant would wake up. If she hurried, she could grab the plants she needed and patch up those cuts before she woke up.

Sooner than she thought, she saw a glimpse of the blue leaves that, when she chewed them up into a pulp and put the paste on her cuts, got rid of the angry red color around the skin really quickly with almost a cold after-feeling. Plus she was a little hungry, and plucked a couple of the berries to eat along the way.

With a bunch of leaves in her hand, she went on her way again to the next area, readying herself for getting the red leaves next. Those were protected by an angry snapping plant that didn't seem to like anything getting near it, and eh often had to duck and roll and just snatch a huge branch of the red leaves and run like the dickens. It bit her tail once before, and she had no desire to repeat the experience.

She hummed as she walked, a tuneless sound to add to the constant drone of life in the forest. The sound kept her company as she walked.

Would the giant like to hum with her, she wondered? Maybe she would have a prettier sound, since her own voice sounded so thin and grating to her.

And again, sooner than she thought, she had arrived around the bend of the small riverbed that fed the red leaf bush. The only way she had even found out about the properties of this one was, by accident, she had walked by and seen a red leaf that had been tossed by the wind and chewed on it to see what it would do. After her whole tongue went numb, she endlessly sought after the source, refusing to sleep until she found it.

Now that she knew where this one was, every time she tried to grab some of the stuff was a battle.

She looked at the biting plant with a toothy grin. "We meet again, hmm? You know how this will end, so just give up now."

The plant bit the air in her general direction in response, emitting a hissing sound. Cayenne set down the blue leaves out of the reach of it, and readied herself for dashing quickly. With no hesitation, she ran as fast as she could past the plant and snapped off a whole branch of red leaves, dashing away and out of its reach, hearing it biting the air and hissing right next to her ear, making her fur rise on end with adrenaline.

Haha! She had adamantine skills, perfection, fast and nimble like the wind! She danced out of its reach, its hissing reaching a fever pitch, and she laughed loudly at it, grabbing the blue leaves and running away, full of excitement and life. She bested that violent plant once more! Take that!

After a while, she made it back to the clearing with the white flowers, breathing a sigh of relief when she aw the giant still sleeping soundly. She walked quietly through the flower field, enjoying the sweet scent, the peaceful sound of deep breathing and the distant sounds of birds and insects, and the light filtering through the trees.

For a while, she stood petting the giant's nose, enjoying the peace of the moment, then quickly gathered her supplied and went to work creating a numbing and anti-inflammatory paste to put over her many cuts, with a nice broad leaf to stick to it on top so it would stay clean, chewing some white flower heads as she did so just to pass the time.

After she was done, she yawned, feeling nicely sleepy, and climbed up on top of the giant between her shoulder blades, a comfortable divet she fit nicely in, feeling the gentle warmth of the giant radiating underneath her, and with the sound of her breathing, she fell into a deep and peaceful sleep with her new friend.
