The crow's expression seemed to grow somewhat dark as the Merrymen were mentioned. She recalled Fleur and her stories of Diamondfang, shaking her head somewhat. "I've heard a nightmare or two about some of them. Something along the lines of a weasel trying to turn children into weapons," she said, neck craning down to preen her chest, fluffing up the feathers. "Kind of horrible."

And then, suddenly, she lightened up, a soft little chortle emerging from her throat - almost like a sort of clucking laugh. "I hope your kids are good to you," she said, eyes crinkling, as if she were grinning. "Have they hatched yet?"

Fondly, she recalled her own son's habit of rolling around in the mud simply because he liked the smell - not such the mess. In fact, he hated the mess, and after realising he couldn't get the mud out of his feathers Eve would be the one to have to pick the mud out from his feathers. The soft chortling continued in her throat, beak opening before it immediately closed again.

The laughter ceased as she realised Louie was distracted by something. Her feathers flattened against her head somewhat, straightening. "Is there something wrong?"
