QUESTS/EVENTS
Torrential downpours cause localized flooding and many upset cats. Along with these frequent rain, from gentle drizzles to heavy rainfall, there seems to be a flux of Magicka drawn in particular to water sources. Occasional jet streams of warm air make narrower tunnels harder to navigate. On occasion, the rain intensifies, becoming howling storms with sleet or large hail. However, the temperatures overall are a little warmer, with snow and ice in temperate caves somewhat receding.

Kreool loved this new world he'd been born into. Even though playing with Arrh had proven harmful, the little blue tyke was still as lively as ever, now that he'd recovered. The bump and scrape on his head told the story, but the kid wasn't deterred. He swam on, and eventually decided to head to the cave his friend had called Pisces. There, he thought, he'd find some more aquatic friends. There, he thought, he'd find even more water to swim in. He'd asked the night before which tunnel led there from the river's basin, and Arrh had pointed it out, so off the little went, first thing the next day.
He was tiny compared to his monochromatic friend, so the journey was extra special. He had all the room in the world to swim and spin and flounce about, Soon, the tunnel opened up. Kreool powered into the open space of the lagoon with some decent speed, zipping past the waterfall's current and into the open, stiller water. Once centered, he rose and poked his head out of the water, inhaling as he did.
It was colder here. That was the first thing he noticed. It was also dimmer, with less glowing stones and more of those yellow lights high above- he believed Arrh had called them stars. He could heard the scuffle of life nearby, but from his place in the center of the water's depth, he couldn't make out any other creatures. So, determined to meet someone new, Kreool called out for the first time above water.
Rrrreeeeeeoooooooooooo---! His voice echoed, a soothing call, like whale song but clearer, not so loud. It wouldn't carry very far, but at least he'd announced his arrival. There was no movement beneath the water, so he wondered if those friends Arrh had mentioned had perhaps found another place to stay.
As if as an afterthought, he ducked below the surface and repeated his call, just to be sure.
@Bevy but it's open to anyone. Just tagging leadership. ;D

There is a danger.
Roshan, as he had begun to be called by the birds of the Bevy flock, was becoming less furious and lust with rage. He was almost tolerable these days, though his tone was constant and dark, it was nearly as though they had put together some remains of Ratchet back together.
Calypso still held the mantle, still held him back, but for now, it was alright. She heard the call of a stranger and picked out the aquatic beast bellow her perch. With a spread of her wings, she was off, flying towards the creature with a prickle of curiousity.
It is a monster, Rosh's words sunk like a stone, casting ripples but otherwise being forgotten in the water. Bevy's black and red form landed at the lip of the waterfall's pool and she stared around. Where had that creature gone... for a swim? Was it one of Eeya's friends? Surely he had made some by now, he couldn't be the only water borne gembound.
"Hello?" She called out softly, spotting the dark form bellow for a brief moment. "Welcome to Maji Walezi, newcomer."
He hadn't meant to disappear just as someone arrived, but sure enough, when he glanced back up towards the surface, he caught the glimmer of movement above. He followed it and rose carefully when he saw how tiny the other creature was. She spoke, but he didn't understand- not at first. Seeing her on the land, and his own being mostly submerged- save for the top of his head, so he could breath through high-set nostrils- the little one because curious. Why is she above the water? Can I be there too? He looked at her feet, then down at his own claws. Arrh doesn't have claws. Maybe I'm meant for both? He sank back below the surface without a word or another glance.
His form sank beneath the filtered light of the pool, but his shadowy movement could likely still be seen from above as he swam in a circle then headed for shore, a few feet from Bevy. Kreool had to get a quick pace before he shot from the water and half-way onto land, much easier than jumping over rocks.
It felt weird, not being submerged. He was heavy, but not too heavy. With a heave, he hoisted himself the rest of the way and turned to face the little bird, bright eyes filled with excitement. A churning rose in his throat, like a rattling hum.
"Eeeeaaaakiki?" He whirled, tilting his head to one side. "Eki koo eeeeaaaakiki areeh?" Another tilt of his head, the other way. "Areeh e Kreool." He placed a claw on his chest and patted, as if to introduce himself. "Kreool!"

Bevy waited, her tiny, less-than-a-foot tall body a mere speck by the pond. She saw the creature think about surfacing, but it did not speak to her. She waited, and waited, and--
DESTROY THE MONSTER OF THE WATERFALL. IT WILL CONSUME. IT WILL-
Abruptly, the blue creature burst from the pond and on to land. She hopped back away from the water, wincing as her feathers got soaked, but quickly straightened up. The creature began to speak in that sort of whistling tone that Eeya sometimes used, a language that no feather in Bevy's wings knew.
"Kreool?" She cooed when the water beast was trying to convey a name. She nodded gently and raised a wing. "I am Calypso-Bevy." She spoke clearly, loudly, and most of all, slowly.
Bringing her wing back to her side, she was careful to repeat her name, "Calypso."
Whoever this stranger was, they seemed friendly enough. Pisces and Maji Walezi could always use more water-guardians... Though they'd have to figure out a way to speak the land-tongue if she was going to get anything from them.

Deep underneath the water played the single dolphin of Maji Walezi, he used his blowhole to create water bubbles then after enlarging them he would swim through only to do the same thing again only upside-down. He was so involved with his play that he didn't notice another sea creature swimming by above him. He just kept on playing and playing until he heard the loud whale-like summoning sound. Eeya stopped his bubble-blowing and tilted his head slightly to the left and right. Was that Arrh? Or Moana? Or someone else... It didn't sound like Arrh's slightly deeper noises or Moana's lighter so it must have been a new sea critter! The idea excited him greatly and he whistled his own call to let the creature know that Eeya was on the way.
After letting out another trill he kicked his tailfin and swam upwards. Because he liked grand entrances he leaped out of the water with a great spin before diving back under. Eeya resurfaced again near the shore with his deep sapphire eyes first trained on Bevy and then the new creature. It looked rather young and funny but there was no denying that it was sea critter kin! Eeya trilled happily in greeting. "Haaii! Haaaaaiiiii!" He giggled out to both critters. To the sea critter he said, "Eeya rik kiaakoo! Areeh e kriaaa kiaaakoo! Kooheero eeekiikii iiiraa aaaak ah! Kir kir!" Then to Bevy he said, "Hai hai, Bevy-leader! Eeya is here! We have new friend for Maji Waleziiii! Eeya is much happy! Ya ya!" To show how happy he was he began to splash the water with his tail fin, spraying the liquid everywhere.

Kreool was delighted when the little bird made similiar sounds back at him, copying his name. Yes, Kreool! He chittered in delight, bobbing his head in an excited nod. Then, with the utmost attention, he listened to her introduce herself. Calypso. He blinked, and then tried the new sound on his tongue.
"Khaaah... Kallliiiip...." The expressions he made as he tried were comical, scrunching and stretching muscles never used before. "Sooo. Kaali..." No, that wasn't going to work. He scrutinized the bird, upper fangs nibbling bottom lip in concentration. There had to have been a water speak word for it. "Iipsi!" He finally decided, clapping his claws against the rocky floor in triumpth. "Kreool aaraa Iipsi oooara liiraa!" Another bob of his head to confirm his proclamation, then suddenly, there was a distraction behind them.
He turned to watch a small gray Arrh dance out of the water, spin, and slip flawlessly back in. Excitement coarsed through him and he whirled on the land, maw agape with a toothy grin. The new gray Arrh popped back up with plenty to say in plenty of squealy clicks and giggles. Kreool scurried closer, dragging his tail behind him until he lay straight, with his nose close enough to almost touch Eeya.
This new friend knew Iipsi, and called her by another name. Bevy? That sounded even harder to say. Kreool decided, until he figured out this land-speak thing, he'd stick with calling her Iipsi. The gray Arrh's name was Eeya- OH! Oh, he'd heard that name before! The realization had him bouncing.
"Eeya! Eeya! Kreool eeeeaaaakiki Eeya! Eeya kiaa Arrh, Arrh kiaa Kreool! Kriaaa eekiikii kiaa Arrh, Eeya! Kreeol aaraa keiaa!" He cheered, going so far as to slip back into the water and swirl around to Eeya's other side, head poking back out a second later.
"Eeya! Iipsi!" He sang, bobbing side to side in the water with the flicks of his tail. This was just such a great day!

Calypso blinked as the thing tried to say her name but he was having quite a hard time with her hard consonants. She tilted her head at the creature, waiting with a tired but well practiced patience. It was, of course, promptly interrupted by Eeya... It certainly had been a while, but she was glad to see the slippery dolphin.
"Hello, Eeya," she peeped politely, letting the spray of water soak her feathers. She was used to being soaking wet any time she came anywhere near the waterfall, anyway. It only made it slightly difficult to fly.
Use the water guardian. He will gladly do your bidding. Just command him, Calypso. She resisted the urge to roll her eyes and instead, calmly asked a sensible question between the twos squeaks and oceansongs.
"Is that so? Does Kreool want to join us? We have plenty of food, and we certainly could use more water critters around here," the leader commented calmly, putting the offer on the theoretical table. Roshan kept hissing the background, but he was little more than background static.
Together, you could kill the waterfall monster. It does not belong in our home.
