CAVE STATUS
QUESTS/EVENTS
Torrential downpours cause localized flooding and many upset cats. Along with these frequent rain, from gentle drizzles to heavy rainfall, there seems to be a flux of Magicka drawn in particular to water sources. Occasional jet streams of warm air make narrower tunnels harder to navigate. On occasion, the rain intensifies, becoming howling storms with sleet or large hail. However, the temperatures overall are a little warmer, with snow and ice in temperate caves somewhat receding.
It was late. Cadence knew because everyone in Maji Walezi was sleeping. Everyone except for her. She was fed up with this cave! Fed up with having to have parental supervision wherever she went! She wanted adventure! Excitement! At the very least she wanted out of this den so she could go have some fun! She lover her Papa Bear and Mama very much... but they were so gosh dang overbearing that it hurt! The little grizzly lion pawed at the fur on her head as she mussed it up and knocked out the purple flower that her mother had tucked into it. Yuck! She hated those stupid flowers! Their smell was starting to irritate her now and only made her want to leave her parent's den all the more.
The cub looked around the den at her sleeping family. Perhaps she could sneak away all alone... No. She wanted someone there just not her parents. Sonata? No. She might put up a fuss or go straight to the ponds. Barry? Hmm... He was easy enough to tell what to do. He'd keep his mouth shut and do exactly as she told him. Perfect! Carefully she picked her way over legs and tails and paws as she made it to Barry's side. Her paw quickly slapped over his mouth to keep it stifled lest he try to wail or cry. "Shhhh.... C'mon, Barry. We're gonna go on an adventure. Just you and me." She whispered into his hear. "No cryin' and no yellin'! Alright?" When she was sure that he wouldn't give them away the cub removed her paw and jerked it in a motion that signaled that they should go.
The grizzly lion cub made her way carefully to the exit and finally out of the den. Carefully she picked her way down the cliffs and to the grassy area near the far side of the den. Certain that her parents couldn't hear her she let out a whoop and began to run about. "We're free, Barry! Free! What do you want to do? Tag? Hide and seek? Oh oh! How about a race? That'll be awesome!" She crouched down with her chest while her tiny rump and stubby tail waggled in the air. "Well, c'mon c'mon, what you wanna do? Tell me, tell me!" She called out excitedly to him. He was always so nervous... Her pressuring him into a decision probably wasn't helping but she couldn't help it. She was just so happy to finally get away!

It was early and Baroque was not a morning child. He wasn't like, an evening child either, or anything... The poor lazy bear just wanted to sleep all winter if it meant he could stay away from everything that made him cry... Which was basically everything. He was awoke with a paw slap to the nose and that alone practically got him into tears but he recognized his sisters bright half-sided gaze.
He wanted to tell her that her hair was in her face again, just like how momma hated, but she told him to hush and then practically dragged him outside. Timidly he skulked out after her, knowing his dad was going to be so mad at him for not going to sleep. His paws dragged and he stepped heavily, even when he tried to do his best to be quiet. A hibernating bear couldn't sleep through all of his noise, and dad wasn't even snoozing for more than a few hours! He blinked his shimmery, watery eyes at Cadence when she started snapping excited questions at him.
The boy slumped down on the mossy grass, dipping his head down. Quiet as a mouse, he mumbled, "I dunno..." They shouldn't be out here by themselves. Both Cadence and him knew it. So why were they? He didn't understand.
"Can't we play in the morning...? It's more fun with everyone and everyone's sleeping..." He finally fought up the courage to tell his sister how he felt, though he didn't outright say he didn't want to be out here by their lonesome. He didn't want his sister to think poorly of him for being a big huge baby about everything.
Ugh, he was sooo looouuuud! But she knew he was trying his best to sneak. She just wished he was a little better at it. Maybe one day they would go out and she would help him practice stalking! Granted, she hadn't learned stalking herself yet but she was the oldest and thus she had to try to teach him even if she didn't know. Perhaps her Mama would give her lessons one day. The golden lioness had mentioned it in passing before so why wouldn't they get to learn? Mama had to be more fun than what she let on right? She couldn't just love flowers and fashion, right?!
Her brother, of course, didn't seem as enthusiastic about playing as she did. The little cub nearly sighed. Baroque was missing out on life! Playing by the rules all the time was so boring. "No no no, Barry! We can't wait till tomorrow! Don't ya see? We gotta get out and play now while everyone's sleeping! Haven't you ever wanted to play unsupervised? And explore?" The little cub popped up and began to bounce excitedly, tail wiggling back and forth. "Papa Bear and Mama are always looming over our heads!" She stomped one paw into the dirt with frustration. "I wanna play without'em! Now, heads up! I'm comin' at ya!" A new idea popped into her head, she wanted to play fight! Wouldn't that be fun? With her brother's bulky weight he could give her a run for her money and besides. It might help toughen him up a bit. Besides, he didn't even pick a game himself so that meant she got a go!
The little cub crouched and after a playful little butt wiggle she launched herself at him with a "rawr"! Attempting to fling herself onto his back and playfully chew at his mane.

Injuries: None! It's a cute cubbie fight! :D
Baroque felt so bad that they were being such naughty children. His vain efforts to restrain his sister fell on deaf ears, and he tried to stutter out a reasoning-- Dad and Mom were just looking out for what was best for them! What if one of them got hurt? What if an accident happened and hurt them like what happened with Bartos? Or worse, something bad from the outside came.
Barry had no idea what bad things could happen, but unlike his sisters, he was not eager to go running headlong into those sorts of things. As much as he tried to speak up and tell his sister that they really shouldn't wander off and be bad, she was already on the move to strike!
The word, "B-but," stammered out of his mouth as his sister cried out a big old heads up and nearly tripped over her own paws trying to pounce on him. Instinctively he shoved out his paws, letting out a tiny little yelp... But he wasn't trying to hurt his sister.
He would probably cry if he did.

Cadence's attempt at throwing herself at her brother only resulted in her tripping over her paws which so far were still a little too big for her. The cub fell flat on her face right in front of her brother. She got a mouthful of dirt and grass and let out a groan which was muffled by the earth.
That hadn't felt too nice. Perhaps she needed to work on her pouncing technique. The feisty half-feline lifted herself out of the dirt and spat out a mouthful of grass. "Yech..." She brushed her mouth out with her arm before looking at Barry with first a frown and then a laugh at his outstretched paws. "Nice job, Barry! You stopped me!" Because obviously it must have been Barry since there was no way ever that Cadence could ever trip over her own paws, nope, no way. Had to be the fault of someone else. "Now you gotta try it again! But it won't be so easy this time, little brother!" With that she shuffled away and went into a crouch, tail wiggling as she concentrated extra hard to get past Baroque's top-notch defenses.
With another "battle-cry" she launched herself at Baroque. Those time she attempted to sweep him right off his paws by tackling him.

Baroque had no idea how to tell his sister he wasn't enjoying this game. He didn't want her to be upset at him, but he was afraid he was going to mess up. She didn't even give him a chance to try and talk her down or escape, immediately getting to her paws to lunge at him again.
And this time, she didn't trip. With a strangled yelp, the two cubs went tumbling over, Barry landing on his back and squashing his own tail. His big blue eyes went wide and he felt the tears start to form in the corners... But no, he couldn't cry. Cadence told him not too!
So instead the blubbering baby just whined and tried to shove his sister off. Weakly, he tried to echo her friendly banter, "n-nice job-- you got me! Y-you can gid off now." He didn't want to push her too hard, so his paws barely did anything against her slippery cub chub.
But the little boy had another idea. Maybe he could wiggle out from underneath her?

Unlike her brother, Cadence was enjoying herself immensely! Especially after she managed to successfully tackle him and bowl over her chunky bro. They went rolling over and over all the while the white cub giggled out shrill laughter. "Wheeee! Ha ha ha!" Finally they rolled to a stop and Cadence just managed to pin Baroque! She felt quite satisfied with herself! "Pinned ya!" She giggled.
She could feel Baroque's tawny paws trying to shove her off but it was two little effort. It would take more than that to dislodge the rambunctious cub! "Nu-uh! You gotta push me off! C'mon! You're Nemean and I'm the mighty dragon Raheerah! Raawwrr! Imma eat your ears off! Nom nom nom!" The little chubby cub leaned down and began to try to chew at Baroque's fuzzy ears and mane. She even puffed her fur up to make herself seem more like an intimidating dragon! "Better do somethin' before I use my fire to burn you uuupp!" She sang cheerfully.

As it turned out, slipping out from under a feisty lioness with the baby bulk of a bear cub was more difficult that one would think. She was trying to egg him on, get him to play back... But now she was biting at him with her sharp teeth, nipping at his soft ears and fluffy ruff.
He couldn't help it. Tears started to trickle off his cheeks and he started to do that awful, obnoxious hiccuping. A low whining groan came from his muzzle and he gave up completely, going limp under his sister. Maybe she would just get bored and stop.
Sure she'd hate him for it, but he couldn't do this. He just couldn't! He was no good at fighting and he hated being bitten. It hurt so much!! He tried not to sob too loudly, knowing his parents would probably wake up and come running to save him, but he couldn't think of a better thing to do to get his sister to stop playing this awful mean game.
And he definitely didn't want to be Nemean, either.

The little cub was so intent with her game that she forgot to be gentle. Or so she thought... After nipping and chewing her brother began to do that hiccuping thing when he got riled up to cry. The chubby kitty leaned back and looked at her brother to see those big fat crocodile tears roll off of his cheeks. "Oh come on, Barry. I'm not bitin' you that hard!" She taunted... But then he went limp and started that awful whining. Oh no... Baroque cried a lot but what if he was serious this time? The white lionbear scrambled backwards hastily. She didn't want to hurt him anymore.
"Come on, Baroque... Get up. I'll you get me this time! After all, Nemean's the good guy! So here's your chaa-aance!" Again she crouched but this time she didn't leap at him. Instead she would give him a chance to come at her. Perhaps he would be able to tackle her and get her down.
Though, she wouldn't make it easy. The little lionbear began to hop around on her paws trying to make a little more challenging for Barry to get her but she still didn't come at him. That was Barry's job now.

Defense: Hopping on paws to make it harder for Baroque to catch her!
Injuries: Dirty muddy face! Ky would be upset...
Finally Cadence got off of him and he managed to get up, blinking sadly at her. She was still so determined to play, egging him on and on, but he didn't know how to tell her to stop. The best he could do was to play along until she was tired and decided they should go back. He watched her bounce on her paws and let out a weak sigh, crouching down for a moment.
"O-okay..." He mumbled, looking down at his paws and then back up at her. He shifted a little, trying to figure out where she was jumping around a whole bunch. Why wouldn't she just stand still? She made this so difficult!
He lunged forward and then lifted up on to his back paws, reaching forward with his front to try and grab her. It was safer than just trying to tackle her, if not a bit harder to pull off. "Come'ere!" It would keep them both form getting hurt, at least, that was his hope.
