It was time. The chrysalis was about to hatch. Cracks began to appear, and started curving their way down and throughout the chrysalis. Splinters of the chrysalis began to fall, and within time, the chrysalis was destroyed. A little tiny kitten stepped out. She was a creamy white, with just a hint of gray spots and stripes. Her eyes, just freshly opened, are a deep amber color. She begins to look around. She can hear the sound of water pouring into a large body of water, but she can't tell quite where. As she continues to observe, she notices white flakes floating down. One lands on her nose, and she realizes that it's cold and wet.

She paws at a nearby one, and is soon jumping around and pawing at others. She continues until she becomes tired. Her fur is wet from the falling white stuff, the name of which she doesn't know. The floors are slippery and wet. She continues exploring, until she can see the waterfall. It's massive, the water pouring down from a crescent-shaped hole in the roof. It falls straight into a deep bowl lagoon. She walks cautiously up to it and peers in. The water was clear, and she could see quite far down into it. She then walked away from that and continued to explore, wondering if anyone else was nearby.

Such loud noises made Todd's eardrums tremble. His newly pointed ears flattened against his skull, as if that would really help. A little bit perhaps? He couldn't quite tell. The small black fox cub felt a shiver running through his chest and all the way to his toes in aggravation, his poofy black fur sticking out. But that only made him colder. And that too, was an unpleasant sensation. He wasn't sure about the weird sensations in this cave, whether he liked them or not.

Of course, Todd wouldn't admit that it was his own fault.

He'd come just a little bit too far in his explorations. So far in fact that he was completely lost, unable to remember the way back to the pretty room he'd first emerged into. Hmph. Why couldn't the pretty lights just come to him?

Considering the difficult question, Todd wandered and wandered and wandered some more. He wasn't sure why the noise was getting louder, or why his fur had begun to drip, slicked to his sides. But he was soon to find out as he came upon an enormous waterfall, a spectacle he'd never seen before in all his days. In an instant he'd completely forgotten about the cold or the noise. He moved forward, trying to get a better view.

In his distraction, he'd paid no attention to the ground beneath his feet, only to fall headfirst into a pool of water with a yelp that reverberated throughout the vast cavern.

((...Don't worry about replying with a huge amount. I tend to go overboard in entry posts. TL;Dr: He fell into a pool. xD))

Kallista continued to explore. She was getting tired of the white flakes which dragged her down, and made her feel cold and wet. The drum of the waterfall was just becoming an incessant annoyance. She wasn't really sure what to do, so she decided to go back to the waterfall, even if the noise was just even louder there. Maybe someone else would be at the waterfall now. She started walking up to it, and as soon as it came back into sight a flash of movement caught her eye. A gembound was walking up to the waterfall, and clearly wasn't paying attention to the pool. She continued to watch as he slipped in.

She ran up to the pool and peered in. A fox, by the looks of it, was falling. She blinked, and then burst out laughing. She didn't laugh for very long, however, and began to try and think of a way to get him out. There wasn't really anything she could use to get him out with. The only choice she could think of was to swim. But who knows if she'd be very good at swimming? She hesitated. Maybe he could get out himself? She decided to wait and see If maybe the fox could get out himself, or at the very least, get up close enough that she could reach out and drag him.

It wasn't long, though it felt like an eternity to Todd, before a face appeared over the edge of the rock he'd fallen from. Luckily for Todd, the water was shallow enough for him to reach out with his head and the top of his shoulders, not that he was in the state to acknowledge his luck. Not that he stood still long enough to either, within seconds he was scrabbling his paws against the rock trying to clamber out. Little crying noises forced their way out of his throat.

He heard laughter. Loud laughter. Confusion and shock swirled in his chest; he didn't know quite why they were laughing, but he was hardly in the state to laugh as well. He was getting closer though... With a great push of his hind legs he was up, or halfway up. He dangled helplessly over the edge with his front half over the rock and his back legs scrabbling. But from the way his forepaws struggled to grasp the slick rocks it looked like he wouldn't stay up there long. Whereas the toes of his right paw could grasp, the toes on his left paw couldn't even twitch, sliding back as they were unable to grasp with those gleaming labradorite claws.

Kallista watched for a bit more as he struggled to get out. Within some time, the fox had gotten half of his body out. Kallista noticed him scrabble for a bit, trying to get a good grip but the rocks were just too slick. His left paw couldn't get a grasp, for reasons Kallista didn't know. She figured now was as good a time as any to get him out. She reached over and grasped the back of his neck in her teeth, and attempted to drag him out.

She slowly backed up, teeth still grasping his neck, until the fox was on the slippery floor. She let go of his neck and sat there, watching him. "Why didn't you look where you were going? You'd think anyone would know to look where they were going, especially in a new place!" she scoffed, watching him with narrowed eyes.

It was a struggle but with help from the stranger, Todd eventually lay on his side, shivering and quaking as water poured from his usually soft and fluffy hide. Seemed that the odd stranger had pulled him the last bit of the way onto the slick wet rocks. Aware of this, Todd groggily raised his head, and tried to raise himself a little off the ground, placing his paws squarely apart and pushing himself into a seated position.

His left paw slid under the weight again, and Todd just barely managed to keep balance, his forelegs splayed beneath him. "Uhmmm..." he droned in a quietly accented voice, concentrating on keeping his balance despite his shivers. "H-hullo. Th-th-the air here. W-w-weeeeiiird. Let's go! Don't like it." He tried again tpo push himself onto his feet, this time successful despite his left paw and its seeming attempts to escape. Without clearly thinking, he shook himself violently, only for his paw to slide away, leaving his chest on the floor and his back limbs standing. "...Oh."

Kallista blinked and watched as the fox tried to get up. It wasn't long before his left paw slipped, and he fell. Snorting, she continued to watch as his legs became splayed underneath him. She was about to get up, but decided to stay seated, considering It didn't look like they'd be going anywhere soon. The fox had managed to get up, but after shaking, fell once more. "Wow, that was a stupid idea," she laughed, not caring whether others thought it to be funny. "Look, are you gonna get up, or not?"

By this point, the Bengal had noticed that there was something different on the fox's left paw. She had managed to see a flash of blue on his paw as he slid, and realized that his stone was likely on his paw. What an unfortunate place to have a stone. Hers was in a place that she didn't think would cause her much trouble-her left flank.

The stranger was making some strange noises from where she sat. Rough, contempt noises. "O-oh, huh?" Todd looked up, blinking his large brown eyes in confusion. He'd never been called stupid before. He struggled to understand. "I... er... I guess 'twas." He tried to mimic the sound of her laughter, quite unsure of what it actually meant. "Ha-ha. Heh, ah..." Then he paused, his little heart shivering with confusion. "Yeah! I try, I try!" the determination in his voice had to be enough to tell he was being truthful, if they couldn't see already.

This time he tried a new strategy. He placed his right paw out in front of him so that it took on most of his weight and only used the tips of his claws for balance on his left. Impractical and quite humourous-looking... but still, he was standing. Todd looked pleased with himself, his white-tufted tail flicking droplets of water everywhere. Proud of himself, he looked up, ears twitching. Though that didn't do much to help the cold or his shivering.

Kallista continued to watch, her tail flicking, irritated. He was taking a while to get up. At least he seemed to be rather determined. She watched as he did a different strategy. It appeared to work, despite it looking quite funny. "Ready to go?" she asked. She started walking, not even bothering for an answer. She walked for a bit and then looked behind her, seeing if the fox was keeping up at least a bit. Not really looking back long enough to see, she continued walking. After a little bit of walking-really only a few more steps-she looked back and sat down, making sure he was keeping up. She didn't really want to be walking alone, preferring company now that she had it.

@Todd --sorry it's late and short ;n;

"Wait for me!" Todd demanded as the stranger walked off without him. He wasn't keen on the idea of being left in the cold on his own. He might never get up. He might be stuck here forever! With an indignant squeal, Todd launched himself after the tiger and slid on his belly, a determined look on his face. He slid to a halt next to her as she sat down, and the ground was still wet but perhaps it was easier to stand... Still on his belly, the fox placed his forepaws squarely apart and raised himself up with an almighty heave.

"Ready now, ready now!" He yipped as he stood, and trotted off ahead. His paw slipped once, and the cub froze in his tracks, looking back at the other helplessly as he stood there. "Okay, okay... Still up."

@Kallista - don't worry about it! :3
