The squint her words were answered with was the only signal her mind needed to begin shoving doubt through her mind. The mental voice chiming like bells as she squinted back, trying to ignore the prickling feeling along her shoulders of her fur slightly raising. Although the still short length gave little, if anything away to the tensing of her muscles.

"You're giving me a suspicious look..." Sabor had started, suspicion lingering in his words, "I'm going to catch another! And this time, you will try it! Can't grow strong on... twigs and... bush turds alone!"

Tolani's jaw fell at the snicker to Sabor's words, her teeth touching with faint clicking as she repeatedly opened and closed her mouth, as though attempting to respond, even though words refused to come. Finally, the stunned stupor she found herself in was broken as she realized just what Sabor was hinting towards with 'Bush Turds'

"Oi! I am very happy with berries, thank you very much!" Tolani squeaked, tone bewildered at the tigers words. Though a small roll of her shoulders as she lowered her front end closer to the ground. Hindquarters wiggling slightly as her attention caught on a leaf.

For a few moments, she remained still, watching it silently before bounding forward, nearly tripping over her paws for a moment as she smacked her claws down, hearing the leaf crinkle upon impact.

"Besides," The cub started, turning her head back towards Sabor as she returned to sitting back on her haunches, "what are you going to catch like that? Your shouting probably scared everything away if that squealing didn't!"

Her ears were still ringing from that poor rabbit's dying scream.

Obviously he had left her stunned, she was remaining silent after all. At least until she exclaimed rather loudly that she was fond with berries. Pft, like anyone with her teeth would willingly live off a diet of those bush turds forever. He wasn't exactly paying any of his attention to her, he was trying try to look for food after all. Until she crinkled a leaf, snapping his head around he watched her, pupils as large as his iris a sliver of the golden hue visible. Squinting at her yet again he turned away, listening to the 'all knowing taunts' that Tolani let drop from her mouth.

Boy she never seemed to get tired talking did she? Walk for twenty minutes and she has to take a break, but talking oh she could go on for hours as long she had the sarcastic fuel to add to the fire. "Maybe you should make the room darker...at least the area around us...like you did when we first met...would be nice to have some help on this hunt"

A wide smile spread across his face, wondering now if she could even change the lighting. Hell if it was darker in here there would be no doubt he could snatch up some food! He would show her the beauty of red meat!

She watched briefly as Sabor reacted to the sound of the leaf crinckling, with pupils having grown to the point of showing only a barely there ring of gold that sent shivers down her spine. She didn't like that look, especially not when he was directing that look at her, regardless of the context.

"Maybe you should make the room darker...at least the area around us...like you did when we first met...would be nice to have some help on this hunt"

For a moment, her mind wanted, attempting to remember just what Sabor had been referring to before remembering the instance he'd oh so rudely pounced on her back. It had simply been a spur of the moment thing, she wasn't even certain she could repeat the action, though her mind was simply filled with the possibility of being useful, even if she had her... sight issues.

"Uh..." Words didn't want to come to her today it seemed, her paws kneading the soil under her in uncertainty before slowly nodding her head, "I can try? I'm not sure if it'll work though..." She told her feline companion, adjusting her position slightly to clench her eye shut, trying to focus on the desire to hide, it had helped last time. Maybe it would help this time?

As she attempted to focus, the faint sensation of her gem thrumming with power coursed through her veins, excitement welling up in her chest before her breath shuddered, body trembling as the gem returned to its bright color, the spell a failure as she cracked her eye open, hoping to see the room had grown darker.

Upon seeing everything exactly as she had before, a disappointed whine left her throat. Great! When she had the possibility to be helpful it didn't want to work!

"Sorry, Sabor. Doesn't want to work with me." She said quietly, ears lowering as her attention moved to the ground.

She had agreed! With a smile as wide as he was happy he patiently waited. Giving her some 'privacy' he turned his back to her. Sitting fairly down on the soil below he waited...and waited...how long did it take to take away the light? I mean if she did it before she could do it again right?

Only a disappointed whine that was all too familiar to Sabor reached his ears. She had failed, well at least she had tried. Everything was perfect though! No rush, no danger, no stress!...wait...maybe she needed a little coaxing.

With her ears lowered and attention fixated to the ground he had made it over to her with ease! Eyes wide he watched her, inches from her face. He was on her blind side, focused entirely on her gem. She wouldn't see him coming! She would be startled for sure! Though...was this such a good idea?

NAH of course it would be fine!

The silence that answered her set her nerves on end, glancing up from the soil told her Sabor wasn't around. Had he left when she looked away? Was he disappointed she couldn't make it darker in the room like he'd asked?

"Sabor...?" Tolani called cautiously, not thinking to look to her right for the cub, as he'd always stayed within her line of sight, if not just in her peripheral view. Her ears flicked about, listening for signs of Sabor before something in the back of her mind told her to look where darkness clouded her vision. Warily, she turned her head.

And promptly shrieked.

The surge of energy through the gem in her eye made her body jump back a few inches, the world around her immediately plunging once more into darkness in the same way it had upon their first encounter.

With shuddering breaths, she managed to find her voice, unnerved by the small, golden rings peering into her face.

"What is wrong with you!? You could've given me a heart attack!" Her voice was shrill as she mentally pleaded the violently fast thumping in her chest to calm down, to ease back into its normal rhythm as she hooked her forepaws under her hind legs, rolling a few more feet away, just in case Sabor decided to have another little 'introductory session'

She called out for him, and he remained silent. Staring into the surface of her gem. She wouldn't see him, not until that last heart stopping second. Hm, heart stopping wasn't exactly a phrase he would really want to use on this poor bear. Well it was too late now. She was warily turning her head, promptly shrieking when her nose was just centimeters from his own.

He focused on the darkening of her gem, watching it become void of color. Jumping back she made the word dark just as before. Success! Yes! Without wasting any time he hunkered down, crawling across the forest floor. She of course snapped at him, loudly he might add.

"You're fine! But hey look you did it! Now HUSH while I try and get us some sweet, sweet meat."

Ears swiveling around he could hear Tolani's heart beat over anything else. Quickly he scurried across the floor, putting some distance between the both of them. Until finally, he came across a pair of rabbit tracks. A ravenous smile spreading to his face.

She watched in stunned silence as the cub started to prowl along the ground, the new darkened surroundings allowing the vibrant gold of the tiger's pelt to blend with the rest of the foliage.

"You're fine! But hey look you did it! Now HUSH while I try and get us some sweet, sweet meat."

The comment, despite the attempt at stalking that Sabor was attempting, was fairly loud, at least to her that is. A small shake of her stubby tail, and the bear cub huffed, releasing her hind legs as she situated herself next to the berry bush again.

"You better not get lost. I don't want to have to search for you because you couldn't find your way back." Tolani huffed, lowering her voice enough to where it could still carry to her rather... insistent companion.

She watched as his tail left her sight, ears twitching at the shuffling of foliage in response to Sabor's careful steps as it swept over his coat. Making herself comfortable, the cub rolled herself onto her hip, figuring she would have enough time to take a small nap while she waited.

Sabor began to quickly realize that Tolani's magic only had an effect on a small area around her. It was like a split night and day when he stepped out from a bush. Grumbling to himself about how he thought she controlled the very light within the room. Coming sadly to the terms that it was just a small section of where she sat that she controlled. He wouldn't tell her though, he had done a great job. Sadly she just wasn't equipped with the proper tools.

Regardless of this small bump in the road he continued tracking the rabbit. Sneaking through the bushes, watching and listening to all. Everything about him said top predator, large paws, sharp teeth, keen senses. Maybe not his unique camouflage but hey! His genome had planned out the design of a future king afterall! So there had to be some shock and awe to his presence! He definitely didn't blame nature, especially since he was sure his sense would make up for his lack of camouflage.

Despite her best attempts, sleep simply wasn't agreeing with the rest of her mind. Single golden eye cracking open to glance around for signs of Sabor returning, even though she knew he'd just left. Lifting her head from her forepaws, the bear cub pushed herself back into a sitting position.

Might as well entertain herself while Sabor was off, at least to try and pass the time. Batting at the lower limbs of the berry bush, her stub of a tail scattering what traces of loose soil sat around her haunches, sending it only a few inches from its previous resting place.

"Sabor, if you take too long I'll be old." She whined, to no one but herself of course, assuming Sabor was out of earshot.

Regardless of his elegant and regal coat he had managed not to spook anything yet. Crawling through the under bush until finally he could see the light brown rabbit ahead. Its back turned, busy nibbling on what premium grass it could find. Sabor grinned, aligning himself he was poised to pounce! He would bring this rabbit home!

With a shake of his rear he launched himself from the bushes! Paws coming down flat he nearly missed the morsel, which led him to slamming his paws down numerous times on the little thing. Worried that it would get away, he definitely did not let that happen! The rabbit, was in fair condition. Picking up its lifeless body he began to head back to Tolani. A spring in his step and a smile that reflected his self pride! In the back of his eager mind he only hoped Tolani would appreciate the work he had done!
