Diánysma had decided to abandon the misty tunnel over the shimmering room of blue that her god often stayed within. Belladonna had attempted fo coax her a multitude of times, but the plague vector's interest in the bacteria of that stony corridor had kept her there. Now, she was infected with a plague. Bubonic plague.

Flapping her still yet too-small wings uselessly as she scampered into the sparkling room, the plague vector cawed quietly. Looking down, she noticed a plethora of what appeared to be buildings. Perhaps she could practice and study her disease within one. Isolated enough, she could perhaps figure out how to cure it... then spread it all about, and create her own. First, she had to detect just where the bacteria was congregating. So, she reached out to her magicka and called.

It responded, allowing Diánysma to view the surging mass of antigens gathering near her windpipe. As she gazed upon them, she felt as if they were biting into her. The disease was already settling into her, a chill racking her frame. 'my god, i am studying the black death,' she sent the thought to Panoúkla, intending to keep her updated. Now... she had to begin to work on it. If she procured enough micro clouds, she could reduce the plague to just one single bacterial body. Then... she could preserve it.

She just had to do it quickly before the plague set in.

The pathogen reproduced quickly, the mass growing larger by the second. Diánysma inhaled softly and pulled at her magicka again, hoping to produce a microscopic cloud of positive bacteria to counteract the antigens currently roosting in her feathers... and it worked! The plague vector could see the newly created bodies seeking the sickly green mass and slowly, but surely, eating away at it. Rubies glimmered in excitement as she scratched at the somewhat sandy earth. She began to scribble nonsense in it, developing her own nonsense writing system in the process. The raven was scratching odd symbols into the sand and giving each a meaning. The system bore quite a resemblance to that of Egypt's and Greece's combined. It was nonsense, though. She was just excited.

Diánysma wondered how her god would react upon finding out that she had among the deadliest of diseases tucked beneath her wing and isolated. Perhaps she could incubate her own disease. As she looked down, she blinked and realized that the antigens were reproducing faster than she had originally thought they were. Panicking a little, she hoped to bring forth another cloud of microorganisms to feed upon the bubonic plague.

Thankfully, it was successfully produced and joined the other bodies in combating the disease. Her white sense faded, and she lost sight of what was happening.

Diánysma had become fascinated by the motions of the bodies that she lost her focus upon her white sense. She tugged at her magicka once again and hoped for the best. Rubies stared down, waiting for the dots to appear again. And they did. The plague vector observed the moving masses of dots. It was slow, but it was almost amusing. It was almost... kind of fun. Practice made perfect, and she knew that with enough of it... she'd be able to develop her own pathogen... virus, parasite, bacteria, fungi, any of those! Yes. It would be excellent. Then she and the skeletal plaguebringer could exchange diseases.

It was like a warzone to Diánysma. She was so amused by the struggle between two kinds of bacteria. Positive and negative. Cure and plague. She wanted to fuel it, so she pushed for more magicka, hoping to push it even further back, but just enough to isolate one single specimen of the pathogen and save it for later... development.

Even more bacteria appeared and began to circle the sickly green mass of Bubonic plague, but it was almost not enough. Somehow, the cursed disease continued to reproduce faster than the positive bacteria could manage to destroy it.

Diánysma decided to perhaps push the limits of her magical stores, and urged her gem to produce another cloud of organisms. She wished a few to be more protective ones, isolating one specimen of the pathogen and shielding it from the positive bacteria.

But it did quite the opposite.

It gave her a glaring headache and negative bacteria spawned, eating away at the bodies she had created to destroy the bubonic plague. Oh boy. This would be fun.

She pulled at her magicka stores, tugging long and hard. Rubies glimmered as her gem shimmered, cinnabar glowing brightly. Diánysma knew she had to get it right, or risk... well, death. The plague vector knew that she could not die before her task was complete.

Thankfully, the magicka agreed, and worked to create more bodies to fight the plague and isolate one specimen of the pathogen. She resumed observing, feathers ruffled and wings loose as she settled down to relax.

The battle was going more successfully now, but she shuddered again and sniffed. Oh, that was bad. Blinking, she clamped her beak shut and hoped for the best as she summoned magicka again, but creating positive bacteria to breath in and perhaps eradicate any antigens that may lurk within her immune system and had not been destroyed by her antibodies.

Almost a critical success, a healthy-sized cloud of organisms was drawn before her, and she breathed them in. She lie down, and blinked once and found that her sense had disappeared once again. It was time to renew her spell again.

The crimson heart marking of the raven glimmered and sparkled, magicka crackling. As the magicka was pulled once more, Diánysma began to realize that her spells were becoming more and more feeble, and she lay down. A few more casts, and she would have to rest and restore. For now, she focused on another casting of her white sense, wishing to see the progress.

But no, her stone refused again. It tingled as if laughing at her, and she huffed indignantly before a headache shot through her skull, aching and burning. "oh dear," she quietly murmured, putting her head in her wings.

After a little bit of waiting, the headache faded and she hoped to try once more and cast her seeing spell... and it was a matter of chance if it did. the cinnabar stone shimmered, and she felt her sight change. Blinking once, Diánysma could see the bacterial life in the room once more. Looking down at her chest, she noticed that, indeed, the plague was being fought back. It was decreasing in numbers, and the isolated and sickened cell was kept safe by a swarm of positive bacteria. Once more, she coughed.
