{Ok this is mostly a thread for myself I guess but anyone is welcome to join}

Zevruu shook his fur and began to groom it. He had grown out to his full size. Despite being full-grown, he was still rather small however. Larger than he used to be, but still small. He hadn't grown much lately, and still looked as though he were only 3 cycles old, rather than the 4 cycles that he is. He was slightly irritated at this, wanting to be larger, but he didn't really mind too much. His ears were still very large, and seemed a bit out of place on his small head.

Zevruu set a stone fused with light onto the ground. He carried it with him wherever he went, a reminder of his meeting Macawi and getting his fortune told. Laying down, he looked at the stone, examining the light shining through small holes in the stone. He ran his paw over it, feeling the rough curves that weren't able to be seen just by looking at it. He had been absolutely fascinated with the stone being fused with light, and wanted to try out his own spell. He had never tried out his spell before, and figured it to be about time that he did. He got up, the stone put aside. Eyes closed, he began to focus on the red stone on his left shoulder and began to call upon his magic.

Zevruu could feel the stone on his shoulder lightly vibrate. He could feel it, but almost as soon as it started, it stopped. He opened his eyes. Where he expected there to be light, there was none. He had failed. He focused hard, but no matter how hard he tried, it wouldn't work. Nothing happened. He lowered his big ears in shame, hoping no one had seen him failing. He figured he should try again. It had been his first try at using it, after all. Surely if he tried again, it would work. Right? He ought to give it a chance, at least. So he closed his eyes and tried again. He tried his hardest to summon his magic, call upon whatever forces there were that lets him use his spell.

Once more, he could feel his stone vibrate, but it stopped nearly as soon as it started. Why wasn't this working? He decided he ought to try again. He was near determined to get this spell done, even though after 2 tries, it still wouldn't work. Maybe he was doing something wrong? But what else could he possibly need to do? Zevruu shook his head, almost as if clearing his thoughts. He'd try again. If he succeeds, great. If not...If it doesn't work, then he may just give up. He closes his eyes, and once more, tries to use his spell.

Once more, the small serval had failed. Exasperated, Zevruu sat down. Why wasn't it working? He gave a whine. Why couldn't he do this spell? He didn't know if he wanted to continue trying. It didn't work 3 times, what would make it work the 4th time? He lowered his head in shame. He'd never be able to use his spell! Why did he even bother? Taking a deep breath, he decided to try one more time. Just one more. Maybe, just maybe, it would work this time. He closed his eyes, and focused on his magic. Again.

The stone began to thrum with energy. At first, it seemed as though it would stop, and the serval's heart dropped to his feet. But then, it began to vibrate more, and the next thing he knew, he was glowing faintly. The serval gave out a yip of joy. It had worked! He succeeded! It had taken 4 tries, but it worked! He began to purr happily. It was a loud purr, but the serval didn't care. If someone found him, so be it. He wasn't necessarily trying to hide at that point. He was just so happy to have finally used his spell. However, now that he had used his spell, he wasn't really sure what to do now. Nobody was nearby as far as he could tell.

The serval was still purring by the time he decided to try out his new spell. He closed his eyes, thinking about what he had done when he attempted to use the other spell. He really hoped it would work, but considering how long it took for him to get his first spell right, he figured it ought to take quite a while. But Zevruu didn't really have much else to do, so he figured he ought to try it out, no matter how many times it might take. He had done one spell, surely he can do another.

Before long, there was a floating orb of light around him. The serval gave out a yip of joy again. He had done it! On his first try with this spell, he had succeeded! He made it go around the cave, making sure he could still see it. He was so happy to have actually succeeded! However, now he really didn't know what to do. Nobody was around, and he had done all his spells. He watched the orb float around some more before he eventually grew bored. It was cool, yes. Zevruu loved the orb, and it had been interesting watching it float around and thinking I made that but it also grew boring after a while.

Cure was bored. Having been spending a lot of time in the Fortress she had staked claimed to and hidden her treasure in there was little to do for the now fully grown leopard hybrid. So, after hiding her treasure beneath a pile of bones Cure had came out to explore a bit of Canis. Even when she first got here she had little time to do much of anything. Her heart craved to be next to her twin, but she had no idea where Remmy was and with what had happened in Pisces Cure wasn't too sure that Remedy was feeling up to play some games.

It didn't take her long to happen upon another feline and Cure found herself crouching down low and watching. The feline seemed to be an adult. Practicing magic by the looks of things. So she staid there silently, watching, observing the unknown feline closely. At first, he had made himself glow! that was all too curious for Cure as she watched expectantly. She had never met someone who had the ability to make themselves glow. Of course...she hadn't honestly met a lot of gembounds as it was. One day she would fix that.

For now she continued to watch and when the feline brought out an orb of light Cure began to grin. Well, maybe she could have some fun with this! She lowered herself down even more and focused on the area, hoping she would not yet be spotted. Quickly she concentrated on her magic...

...and just like that a playful grin spread across her features as a thick fog suddenly began rolling in through the cavern. Unlike the first time she had cast it, this one was strong. Easily it enveloped the area and made a nice cover. Cure could barely see a foot in front of her! She was excited that her magic had done so well, but she also hoped the feline would not freak out too much about it. She would send the mist away soon. She just wanted to have a bit of fun.

Zevruu continued to play around with the orb when suddenly, a thick fog covered the room. He could just barely see the orb. Looking around wildly, he wondered where it was coming from. He could barely see, having made himself stop glowing a while ago. He brought the orb close to him, hoping he could see at least something from its light. He could see figures, but nothing out of the ordinary. What had brought on the fog? Was another gembound there? He walked forward slowly. The thought of another gembound nearby had made him nervous. Did they see him fail at casting his spell many times, and then purr quite loudly when he succeeded? He decided to call out, see if he got any responses. "Is anyone there?"

Cure had to keep herself from laughing as she crawled to a new location. It wasn't until the feline called out did Cure giggle and flick her tail around. "It's possible," She called back with a playful snicker before she quickly fell quiet again and decided to once again move to a different spot so that he would not be able to locate which position she was in from him. A grin remained upon her features as her own sapphire eyes searched the mist cover, eager to see if she would spot him hidden within the fog some where. Of course...she could always use her other ability to pinpoint his exact location! Yes, that was what she would do. So once again she crouched down and began to focus, hoping beyond hope her magicka would stay true and she would soon hear his heart beat. Hopefully...
