Alpha's ear flicked as Omega asked, with all the wonder of a child, what exactly he would be closer to. A gentle laugh came from his jaws and he reached back, shoving his snout over Omega's. His laughter died as he lashed a tongue over the darker child's forehead with eager affection. What a silly question. "Closer to reclaiming my position as true Alpha," he explained as though it was the simplest thing in the world. "Once that happens, the monsters won't dare come near us. They'll hide in the shadows, where they belong. Until then, though, I fear no one will know my name. No one will respect me. I must earn that back, and once I do, I'll make sure you're safe forever." Alpha pulled his head away from the child, golden eyes shimmering as he tried to meet the other's gaze. Omega knew his place so perfectly in the world-- it made things so simple. Soon, though, the whole world would be just like him... If not a bit more useful. Alpha Omega

Omega appreciated the contact, the gentle kisd to his forehead. He returned the kiss with a submissive kick to the chin, his tail wagging happily at his heels. True Alpha? Was he not already Alpha? Omega was confused, but he kept his mouth shut and listened more. Everything he said sounded absolutely wonderful and he couldn't wait for him to achieve his dream! Alpha's dream was Omega's dream too, so he'd be right there along the way, cheering him on. "I believe in you, Alpha!" He grinned at the wolf and closed his eyes before pressing his face into the others neck, attempting some kind of cute nuzzle thing. Alpha Omega

Although Alpha knew quite well that Omega was far from perfect, there was a small fraction of perfection in the child. Omega was flawlessly loyal, and already Alpha could imagine a beautiful red ribbon around both of their paws, tying them together with the bond of a lifetime. Yes, he could never abandon this wolf, the boy who had put so much faith in him so effortlessly. Alpha knew the others would not come so easy... If they came at all. For a moment, in the stillness of the cavern, Alpha considered the idea that they were entirely alone. No, that couldn't be. He decided that to himself, and he arched his back in a stretch. There was a word that flickered to his mind and touched at his tongue, but he withheld it from Omega-- leaders did not need to thank their followers. He would so appreciation with his actions and protection, not with hollow phrases. "Good," he breathed, smiling from ear to ear. "I have an idea, watch..." Glancing around, he trotted up to the picture, leaving Omega's side for a brief moment. As he reached the image, he hopped up, awkwardly bringing a paw up to stand against the wall, placing his pads on top of the scratched out part. Closing his eyes, his gem glistened on his tail and he tried to summon that power he had touched before. As he focused, fungus began to pop up along the drawing, spreading wildly in small bunches to fill the cracks and edges, spreading around and framing the carving. Alpha Omega

Omega watched as Alpha moved towards the wall. He didnt start to vibrate and hum this time, but he was still nervous without Alpha at his immediate side. His tail lay slack, if not curled against his hind legs ever so slightly. He kept a watchful eye on Alpha and what he was doing, but he couldnt help but look around for danger. It was when Alpha conjured mushrooms up in the cracks of the painting thylat his attention was grabbed whole again and his tail wagged, but never lifted. "How'd you do that?" He questioned, not knowing that his nervous hum was magick just like Alpha had used. Alpha Omega

Alpha glanced back at Omega, a slow, thoughtful blink washing over his golden gaze. "I... Don't know," he admitted after a moment's hesitation. "I just focused and they came to me. It's my gift... Like yours is that inane buzzing that you keep doing. Really, could you stop?" He snapped, feeling a bit irritated by it. Though as soon as the words left his teeth his ears twitched back and he looked away. "... Yeesh. I mean, if it makes you feel better... You should practice, I guess. Just keep it down, okay?" A good compromise, perhaps. The wolf looked back up at the picture, flooded with fungus in shades of greys and browns, feeling a familiar tug in his tail. It reminded him of the pelts of other wolves, ones he thought he could nearly see in each fungus. Perhaps he just had a vivid imagination though. Alpha Omega

Alpha's words were harsh and they stung, sending the boys ears back against his skull. His chin tucked and his gaze fell from his Alpha to the floor, specifically his paws. "Sorry," he muttered before Alpha spoke again, lifting the mood slightly, but not enough. Omega still felt ashamed for his humming and tried to stop it from happening now that he was so anxious. He tried breathing slow and keeping his eyes on either Alpha or the painting, but it wasn't really working. He didn't hear any humming or feel any vibrating, but he knew he couldn't hold it in much longer, despite Alpha giving him some kind of apology for the tone he used. Omega lowered himself to the ground and laid his belly flat against it and laid his chin on his paws. He just needed to be distracted right? But how? Crap. His efforts were futile. The humming and vibrating started nearly at full force as soon as he thought he might have it, and it wasn't quiet either. It wasn't the loudest, but it definitely wouldn't get past Alpha's ears. With a whine, Omega picked himself up off the floor barely and scurried off to a farther area in the tunnel, hoping he was far enough away to not annoy Alpha with his humming. It was really scary over here though, and that wasn't slowing his humming down any. Alpha Omega

Alpha watched sternly as his charge tried to stop humming, and to his credit he managed to pause it for a moment. When it returned, it was soft, but still as annoying, and the canine let out a sigh and turned back to the fungi on the wall, his tail twitching. He flicked an ear at Omega's whine, but seemed oblivious for a moment as the canine sulked off. It wasn't until he could barely hear the hum that the white canine was jolted from his thoughts. With a bit of panic, he whirled around to find that Omega had wandered off out of shame. The larger pup bolted towards the darker one, letting out a surprisingly worried whine. "Omega!" He barked shortly, ears laying back on his head as he reached down to lick at his companion's forehead. "Look, it's not that annoying. You should stay close to me, okay? I can deal with your dumb noises." Alpha Omega
