After meeting the fox, Joey had decided to go wandering. It didn't take him long to find a room with shiny white crystals on the ceiling (which he liked, but didn't really want to stay) and then he found this place - which he also liked. He also decided to actually stay here for a while.

That hadn't been his original plan, of course. Initially, when he seen the staircases and huge beasts carved into the wall he had thought he would give it a miss and continue on to see what was at the end of the tunnel. What caught his eye, however, was a pile of junk.

The kangaroo's tail had thumped off the ground rapidly as he quickly made his way over towards the junk pile; beginning to sift through it with his stubby arms. Thin claws shifted pieces of broken, filthy armour and scrap metal.

It didn't take him long to find a particularly shiny piece of metal. He had sat, now, bordering the edge of twenty minutes just staring and inspecting the small piece of scrap metal. It was surprisingly shiny, seeing as it had been sitting among other filthy parts for so long. It was clear of scratches and dents.

He loved it like a son.

Slowly, perhaps hesitantly, Joey slid the piece of metal into the pouch on his belly. He watched his stomach for a moment before he nodded and continued to sift through the garbage.

Back and forth he was tracing between Monoceros and the Spire. Not entirely sure why he was putting off going back to the twister cave, his brows had almost taken up residence in a permanent frown as he once again walked through the walls of Tunnel J. Beside him, the carved monsters danced and twisted against the flickering light, reminder of what he truly was.

There was scuffling, tin on rock and gem against gem. Louie felt his lip pull over his teeth. Disruption wasn't what he needed from his ticking train of thought. But he had come to some sort of conclusion that he would head back to the Spire. Speak briefly with it and avoid the demons that stalked the water so close by. Spinning lightly on his heels, the fox clicked his tongue and raised his head. In front of him was Joey, as the boy proceeded to stuff something into his pouch, Louie had the culprit for what had attempted to derail his train of thought.

"You there. " Not entirely aware of the gender dysphoria that was the identity of the kangaroo, he sniffed, "Gemling. What are you doing?" It was mostly annoyance. Really he didn't give a fuck what the marsupial was up to.

@Joey
