After meeting the fox, Joey had decided to go wandering. It didn't take him long to find a room with shiny white crystals on the ceiling (which he liked, but didn't really want to stay) and then he found this place - which he also liked. He also decided to actually stay here for a while.
That hadn't been his original plan, of course. Initially, when he seen the staircases and huge beasts carved into the wall he had thought he would give it a miss and continue on to see what was at the end of the tunnel. What caught his eye, however, was a pile of junk.
The kangaroo's tail had thumped off the ground rapidly as he quickly made his way over towards the junk pile; beginning to sift through it with his stubby arms. Thin claws shifted pieces of broken, filthy armour and scrap metal.
It didn't take him long to find a particularly shiny piece of metal. He had sat, now, bordering the edge of twenty minutes just staring and inspecting the small piece of scrap metal. It was surprisingly shiny, seeing as it had been sitting among other filthy parts for so long. It was clear of scratches and dents.
He loved it like a son.
Slowly, perhaps hesitantly, Joey slid the piece of metal into the pouch on his belly. He watched his stomach for a moment before he nodded and continued to sift through the garbage.
