Even thought he and Tolani had recently ate, they were hungry almost immediately after. Though he guessed just walking would do that to you. Especially since they both seemed to be growing at an alarming rate. At least Sabor was, Tolani still remained significantly smaller; which was an odd sight for him to get used to. They were practically the same size when they had met, fresh out of their own chrysalises. But this world was strange and they had yet to learn many of the lessons it had in store for them.

But he would get back to that shortly, after all food was the main objective. Though when it came to hunting, he would do it alone. Since Tolani had informed him she couldn't see very far, let alone keep up with a running morsel of food. So it was better for him to keep her beside a berry bush. She would eat the small little orbs she found delightful. So he could run off and gather one...two...or maybe three food items for the both of them. If he was lucky.

Which that brought up another thing that didn't seem fair to him at first. She could eat grass, berries and meat. Though...the more he thought about it, he guessed since she was so small...and couldn't see very well...or keep up if he decided to unleash into a full on sprint. Maybe, it did seem like a fair trade? Plenty of options for her to stay fed. Not that Sabor would let her go hungry anyway.

Speaking of not letting her go hungry he needed to locate something. A rabbit maybe? Had had just eaten...but still he was hungry...Tolani would be hungry, she could only eat so many berries before it turned into a dull white noise for her tastebuds. He had seen her teeth, she had sarcastically bared them at her...not to mention all the complaining she would do on 'long' walks. She had the means to eat like him! Maybe she just needed some good ol'fashion red meat to grow up big and strong! Surely one or two meals of this stuff wasn't enough. She needed a healthy diet of it, and only Sabor could fill that quota. She was in fact a hopeless hunter, but he didn't mind.

He had been away from Tolani for quite some time, though she would 'bearly' notice by stuffing her happy face with berries. Sabor himself wasn't worried that someone would hurt her, so much as her getting hurt through her own means. Mostly stumbling over a rock, not being able to see far in front of her...or just getting plain lost and leaving where he had left her.

Staying near the berry bush as directed wasn't exactly the most exciting thing she'd ever done- then again she was just hatched maybe a few weeks earlier. But it was enough to keep her mind focused on attempting to sort out the blotchy colors from each other in order to determine what was what. And while her first impression with the golden feline wasn't the best thing, they'd been traveling through Eridanus long enough for a bond of trust to form between the two of them.

So that was how she'd found herself simply sitting beside the Berry Bush, her single eye closed as her paws kneaded at the soft soil under her, feeling it roll between strands of fur and between her paw pads. A quiet sigh followed the small grumble from her stomach, eye cracking open to glance around for any sign of her companion before lowering her head.

"Still not back yet, huh Sabor?" The cub muttered dejectedly, her ears twisting around to try and pick up any trace of approaching paw steps. Though only the sounds of twittering birds seemed to answer her voice. With this information, the black bear turned slowly to the crimson orbs sitting among green leaves on the bush she'd taken shelter under to try and escape the growing heat from the light orbs above.

"Please get back soon, it's... lonely without you."

Paws move silently, carrying the large beast through the fern bushes and over moss covered stone. Gentle orange eyes searched the area with nothing but admiration. Out of all the caverns within the cave, Eridanus was surely her favorite. Not just because of all the foliage and the prey she could eat till her hearts content, but the serenity of it. The way it smelled of sweetness and as if it had just rained. In her solitude, Arete had spent most of her time here. Doing nothing but simply relaxing and enjoying herself. Coming upon a group of fern bushes, Arete smiled to herself as she studied the leaves upon it. With a thoughtful gaze she whispered to herself, called on her magic and urged it to come to light. It wasn't long before, unseeingly, her gem flashed to life at her belly and she watched as light began to curl and dance around the leaves. The glow took to the leaves and she grinned to herself. Though there was already light within the cave, now it would be more so with the ever glowing leaves that lingered just below a tall tree. Hopefully no herbivore would eat it. She would hate to see a creature walking around with a glowing belly. The thought made her laugh softly before she turned and continued her way.

It wasn't long before she found herself walking along a few berry bushes. Rounded ears twitched as the sound of rustling suddenly drew her attention. Golden eyes lifted and just as she spotted a dark lump of fur, a voice came from it. She tilted her head curiously before bringing herself closer towards the cub. "Hello," She called to it, curious to see what the young cub was up to. It seemed it was a bear and for a moment Arete assumed the bear was just there to dine on some of the berries on the bush just next to it.

mmmhm, they're only 1-2 cycles in this. Still pretty young.

Watching the ground shift under her paws, the cub paid little attention to the area around her. Missing the sound of approaching paw steps before golden fur appeared in her vision.

"Sabor, it took you long enough I was getting wor-" Tolani's voice trailed as her gaze shifted to the owner of the feet.

'Hello' The tigress had called, her eye widening as an instinctive fear rose. Prompting the cub to scramble to her paws, her form shaking as she pushed herself further into the berry bush, trying to camouflage among the greens and reds of the bush.

"SABOR!"

He had wandered quite a ways from his bear companion. But keeping a somewhat leveled head on not hunting too far from her. Though it was very difficult for the young tiger. The thrill and rush of the hunt practically had him inebriated, walking slowly with eyes half closed completely lost in his current chore. Inhaling deeply he took in the trace of rabbit, flattening himself as he shuffled towards the scent; following its trail as if it was mapped out only for him. Lo and behold there it was, happily grooming its pelt and eating the tender grass below. Golden irises minuscule as pupils dilated, he was so close!

"SABOR!"

A frantic scream ripped through the air, startling the neighboring fauna. Sabor jumped up, eyes wide as he recognized that familiar voice. Tolani was in trouble!? Scrambling his feet and flinging dirt in such haste he barreled through bushes. Not caring to that a few seconds and avoid possible harm.

Before he knew it he had approached the small clearing, jumping from a neighboring bush; assorted twigs stuck to his pelt. Wide eyes he covered Tolani instinctually, standing over her and paying no mind to who was the cause of all this confusion.

"IM HERE! WHAT HAPPENED"

The bear responded, her voice normal for what Arete assumed, but the moment the cub's eyes lifted to her panic arose. "Oh," She blurted in surprise when the little cub was suddenly shouting that same name she had moments ago been referred to as. Arete shifted for a moment, watching closely as she pondered quickly for a moment. Obviously this bear had been waiting for someone and that someone was clearly not her. The tigress opened her muzzle to say something, anything, to try and get the little cub to calm down and that she wasn't going to hurt anyone, but fern bushes suddenly shifted.

Arete tilted her head as a little cub suddenly sprung from the lush foliage and much to her surprise the tiger cub shared a very familiar pelt as her own. "Ohh..." She repeated again as amusement rose in her eyes. Now she knew why the bear cub must have been a bit confused on who was there. "Hello," She greeted the new tiger cub warmly, remaining sitting where she was. "I may have startled your friend, but it was not on purpose. My name is Arete, it's nice to meet you two," She grinned with a small laugh. Though they shared the same pelage Arete was definitely older than this tiger.

Before Tolani could respond Sabor had already focused on this perpetrator. Staring up at them in sudden awe, they were just like him! Coat and everything; they were a tiger too! Though excitement was shoved down with the overwhelming desire to protect. At least until they spoke up. Explaining who they were and how they didn't mean to startle Tolani. Perhaps Tolani had thought Arete to be him, and upon closer inspection they raised the alarm. Glancing back at Tolani, Sabor needed to make a call. Trusting his gut he calmed his rising pelt. Smoothing the bristled fur back and whispering to Tolani that they mean no harm. Taking a few steps closer to Arte, Sabor postured himself. Sitting down and assuming his regal pose as he always did.

"Hello Arete! With careful consideration I believe you mean no harm! My name is Sabor, and this is my companion Tolani."

With formalities aside Sabor slowly unraveled from his prim and proper self, firing question after questions as he was a very enthusiastic child.

" Its so cool how you have the same colors as me! You're a tiger too! And you're so big! Are you royalty too?"

Her single eye remained fixed on the tigress's face, watching the emotions flicker across the slightly blurred features of the felines face. Feeling Sabor shift over her, Tolani turned her attention to the cub, feeling him move closer to Arete, and leaving her back uncovered as she scooted just a little further into the berry bush.

"Hello Arete! With careful consideration I believe you mean no harm! My name is Sabor, and this is my companion Tolani." Sabor had chimed, that familiar air of 'royalty' settling her nerves just a little before the act was dropped, and curiosity bubbled into the cub's tone, asking about this 'Arete's fur and if she, too, was royalty.

Picking at the soil, Tolani managed to pull herself back out from under the bush, picking her way to sit just a few inches away from Sabor's tail as her gaze returned to Arete's face.

"... Hello..."
