Sorry it's small post :C
Quietly Cure listened to Cayenne speak. It wasn't just something she had noticed upon seeing the lemur, but there was certainly something going on with Cayenne. Ears splayed out to the side, but Cure made no move to respond just yet. She knew it had to be hard what Cayenne did, but she did not expect it to be as hard as she was explaining it. She tilted her head for a moment, lost to her own thoughts as Cayenne soon finished what she was saying. "Perhaps it is hard... I believe you on that, but... I think that giving someone the chance to get up and go back to their life is well worth the struggle." Cure shifted and lifted her head up off of her paws, her tail flicking about behind her.

"Is that not why some choose to heal and help others? I can see it's overwhelming, it sounds terrifying, but I don't want to not do it just for my own savings," She hummed thoughtfully as she lifted her gaze up to study the trees just above them. "There will always be evil in these caves, Cayenne. It will strive to harm those weaker than it. To rise up and be supreme. There are those who will fight against it...and there must be those who do their part to amend the wounds that are received protecting such things." Finally she turned her gentle sapphire eyes back to the lemur, her smile just as gentle and warm. "I don't believe this chosen path is a 'sponge'. We choose to save people, to see to it that they get back up on their feet and go back to their lives. Stained hands or not, Cayenne, if you were not here, or anyone who would have your talent, how many would fall victim to evil? How many families would mourn because no one could even help in the slightest?"

"Lives will be in our hands to tend to. We can either choose to assist them, to bring them back to good health, or we can let them lay there and suffer. You are the only one I know of that can care for others like you do, but... You're not alone anymore Cayenne. I will willingly follow this path. I will strive to be just as great as you and give my assistance even if it does soil my paws with agony and filth. Even if it plagues my dreams...I will not back away from it. " She didn't understand Cayenne's feelings about the entire situation, but all Cure could do was attempt to lift her spirits. To show Cayenne that she was here and ready to do what she must no matter the consequences. To let her know she was no longer alone on her path.

She looked up at Cure with her mouth set into a hard line, and while she listened, her expression grew darker and darker, her poker face broken.

"Intentions are all fine and dandy," She said sickly. "But you have to be strong, Cure. You have to set bones, which is a dangerous thing to do with magic, and a difficult prospect with paws rather than fingers to do it without, with wrappings and support. You'll need a familiar for some of the things you have to do, like Arkrael, because some things are next to impossible without hands like mine. You'll need to know how to monitor the heart and look inside a body to see what exactly is wrong, you'll need to know how to keep a body alive once it starts shutting down from cardiac arrest or poison or stroke or any number of reasons, you need to go inside a gem's mind in case they're unconscious and will not wake up, and you need multiple resources to numb the pain and backups in case those fail and backups in case the backups fail. You need to be able to bring a gem's intestines back into their body and stitch their bodies back together and slow the fever, stop any forms of infection, stop the bleeding and make the screaming stop so you can focus on what you need to do. Do you have spells and the tools to do any of these things?"

She looked haunted and dangerous as she looked at Cure, then she blinked and leaned back and sighed.

"I'm sorry, Cure. I'm bitter. I've seen too many of my friends hurt and no one to tell me....it's okay to step back." She put her elbows on her knees and ran her fingers through the fluff on her head. "This path is lonely, and if you let, it, it can get to you."

"I don't want to be mean, or discourage you, because it's a good, honest path, even if its hard on you. Ask me a question and I'll do my best to answer it."

Cayenne's response left Cure feeling a little awkward. The backlash from the lemur caused the young leopard to sit up from where she was previously laying down so that she could be much closer to Cayenne's level. "Perhaps I do not have all of these tools, but I have a few....and it's not like I can't obtain the rest," A discouraged frown set firmly across her features as her ears pinned back. Slowly her tail curled along her legs, twisting around until it was tucked into the middle of her front paws. A familiar was something she knew one day she could potentially get. If Arkrael managed to tame a dragonbat, then surely she could find something less violent that could potentially help her do things that she otherwise couldn't do with paws.

The look in Cayenne's eyes was a new one for Cure to see. It left a whirlwind of thoughts crashing through her mind and for a moment she didn't know what else to respond with. Though Cayenne soon shifted moods and apologized. Cure furrowed her brows together in concern as she looked at Cayenne closely. Well, that certainly answered Cure's concern on what was bothering the lemur. "It doesn't have to be lonely..." She commented softly, unsure if she would invoke her wrath once more for stating her opinion on it. When Cure was presented with the option to ask questions the leopard seemed to hesitate for a small moment. "Well uhm...I honestly...just wanted to see if I could learn from you...I don't know really what questions I have. Outside of what I should be looking to obtain to be able to follow this path. A familiar...is obviously something I should look into now that you mentioned it, but I'm sure Rae could help me figure that one out since she has one already," She murmured thoughtfully as she dropped her gaze down to her paws.

Cayenne gave Cure a long look and sighed through her nose, pinching the bridge of her nose.

"Again, I'm sorry. That was unnecessarily mean of me.

Now...If you want to find cures to what might ail those you come across, you should first break it down into categories. All of the dangerous magics, such as fire, electricity, ice, earth, etc, they all have various ways they hurt others. However, they are also singularly predictable in their actions. Fire burns, electricity affects the nervous system and can also sear the skin, ice affects the blood stream and can be used to stab, etc. Once you understand the causes, you can figure out the best ways to combat them. Ice the burns, heal the skin, numb the nervous system, prevent shock and cardiac arrest, warm up the body, so on and so forth. and if you can find ways to do all these things with your own spells or with a physical treatment, then so be it. All the power to you.

Secondly, besides magic, there's the physical you have to deal with, from either normal fighting, lesser gembounds, or sickness of the body. You have to understand how to staunch bleeding, repair torn skin and bone, understand how something one might've eaten could have disagreed with the system, and know how to heal infection, poison, and illness.

Thirdly, you must have a way of diagnosing all of this. doubtless, most of what you come across will be simplistic. A cut, a scrape, a broken bone, an accident of magic. But sometimes you might come across a gem suffering from a variety of symptoms and no one is either around or conscious to answer you and you have to figure it out for yourself."

She rubbed the back of her neck. "I can teach you these things, but it's up to you to decide how best you'll answer the problems you come across. And I can help you for a while as we both go along finding gems to help heal, as a...shadow, I suppose."

She settled in to explain each of these three sections, taking in a deep breath. They would be here a while.

Cayenne's apology was only met with a warm, forgiving smile. Cure could not be upset with Cay knowing that what she did had to be hard to deal with at times. Though, as the lemur began explaining things Cure sat in attention, listening with every ounce of being she had. Everything else seemed to just fade away as she took a mental note of everything Cayenne said. There were a few occasions of Cure slipping in a question or two, but for the most part, Cure merely listened. She would be happy to shadow Cayenne when she could and hoped that she would not be more in Cayenne's way than be of assistance...
