The days had come and gone with ease for the giraffe, not minding that Gadanai would be away for most of the day, Jas was connect staying in this room. It was safe and the patterns on her form seem to do well in keeping her hidden amongst the green. Most would see this place of a buffet to feast upon, but Jasmine saw it as so much more. Even if the tale that the priest had told her seemed crazy, she couldn't stop thinking about how the large mushroom connected all the other fungi in the caves. Was it possible if it was true, that it was the same for the trees and ferns? Is everything connected?

Even the gembounds to one another? That was something to consider. Long neck twisted to the side, getting a better look at the branches of one of the trees. There were a few buds, not yet ready to bloom. So simple the life of a tree was, so very slow. Unlike gembounds, which would grow up in a matter of cycles and trees took far longer. Or sometimes faster with a little help . . Gave never left the buds, concentrating on them.

Though, something was off with her attempt, the buds would shrivel up and reseed back into the branch and it looked young then before! Her ears pinned back and she considered this result. "Oh my . . ." Maybe it was just to early to help it to bloom and the tree wasn't ready?

Eridanus. The place of her birth. Fira looked around the large, warm, green room, and felt right at home. Being who she was meant that she tended to feel at home anywhere, but this jungly place was her favorite so far. Of course… She’d only been to Polaris… Polaris, with its bright lights and rushing river, where she had met her friend Destiny. She wondered how that platypus was getting on as she wandered through the ferns. Instinctively, she reached out with her Heartbeat Sensing spell, but she could tell immediately that it just wasn’t gonna happen. Her Magic gave her an imaginary ‘Haha, no,’ and sank further into her body.

With a shrug, she continued onward, trying to be quiet and graceful, and any cat is. Eventually, her nose told her there was a creature nearby, though it didn’t smell at all familiar. It smelled nothing like chicken, or snake, or platypus. A new Gembound, then? Interesting. She slinked forward through the underbrush, not really stalking, so much as just… Okay, she was stalking. But not for any horrible reason! Only, you couldn’t be too careful, right? She figured not all Gembounds were nice, and the more she caught the scent of this new creature, the bigger it smelled, which was… potentially concerning.

Eventually, she caught sight of the tall head poking up through the foliage, and stopped dead. “Whaaaaaaat…” was the only thing that came from her mouth. This was the biggest thing she’d ever seen!

When the buds disappeared back into the branch, Jasmine would begin to turn away. Her connection to the green in this room was strong, one of the things that kept her going each day besides Gada, but this little failure was disappointing to the female. She never made a plant reseed before back into their branches or ground. No, I should try again. Turning back to the tree, feeling the magic hum in her neck where her gem was embedded.

Yet, the voice behind her ceased the magic before it could form. “Whaaaaaaat…” Quickly turning her head to the source and what she saw almost made her jump at of her spotted pelt. ". . . AHHHH!" Staggering back and away, Where did they come from? Long legs carried her backwards, creating a distance between the two. They scared the day lights out of her.

’AHHHH!’ came the scream of the giraffe as it stumbled backwards in an attempt to get away from Fira.

“Ahhhh!” came the leopard’s own reaction, as she too stumbled backwards. Normally, she was pretty relaxed, and when this whole thing was cleared up, she’d go right back to being her chilled out self. But since she wasn’t entirely sure what was going on, and she might very well be trampled in the next few seconds, her instincts took over in that instant and she hid herself as best she could in the underbrush. Her new spell, the one that changed the shade of her fur, activated automatically and made her orange fur darker so she wouldn’t stand out so much in the shadows where she was trying to hide.

All of this happened in about five seconds, and after those five seconds of fear and impulse were up, Fira realized she was being a complete idiot. “By the Stone,” she cursed under her breath, and then stood up with a shaky laugh. “Uhh… Sorry I scared you or… whatever just happened. I’m not gonna hurt you, I swear.” She paused, and sort of laughed again. “Are you okay?”

The giraffe focused her eyes on the figure, watching their pelt darken to blend into the shadows. Her heart was racing, but not in the good way, more from shock. Should I go back to the cave? Back to Gada? As the new face spoke up, trying to reassure her that they meant no harm. All of that was going in one ear and out the other. Slowly backing up and away from Fira, soon the long legged female would take off into the brush and disappear. She wasn't ready to face such a scary gembound, alone.

But, she wouldn't tell Gada about this incident, she didn't want to worry her protector since nothing really happened.

Fira stood there with a sloppy grin on her face and waited for the creature’s response — which took about… three seconds. The big orange spotted tall thing with long legs turned and fled immediately, and the leopard was left standing there feeling pretty confused. After standing there like an idiot for a moment, she said, “Uhh… sorry? I guess? I mean… What?” Then she shrugged and padded off deeper into Eridanus, ready to explore.
