Zevruu had wandered throughout the different caves before eventually going back to Orion. He had hatched here, and spent most of his life under the glistening quartz crystals. It felt like home, whereas other places did not. He padded along, hardly looking where he was going. He had spend the majority of his life here, and knew the paths by heart. The normally wary Serval now walked with a feeling of confidence. He could practically walk here with his eyes closed! Or he liked to think he could, anyway.

As he walked, he realized that he was rather hungry. Perhaps there was some food nearby that he could eat? He sniffed the air, hoping to find a mouse or something. After some sniffs, he caught the tantalizing scent of a mouse. He sniffed the air some more, following the scent until he could see the mouse. He crouched low, preparing to leap.

And leap he did. His hind legs pushed against the ground and he jumped, landing on the mouse. He quickly killed it, and now stood over it, his mouth watering. He began to eat, digging into the mouthwatering flesh of the mouse. He finished it quickly and swiped his tongue of his mouth, cleaning away any traces of the mouse. He then rose and continued walking, wondering if anyone else was here.

The untrained eye would pass a festering corpse rotting beneath the stars; but there she lay, lounging with a blind and endless stare upward. A thin layer of billowing shadow rolled softly over her skin, giving the appearance of a strange black coat from a distance. No eyes watched for her now. Instead, her naked ears sat upright as she listened closely to the sounds of His room. Would He give her another mission soon? Her long tail flicked in frustration. She was growing bored and restless, but she dared not act carelessly against His will.

A scuffle caught her attention and she lifted her head, pointing her ears toward the sound. Ah, had someone come to ease her plight? Her long toes curled as she kneaded for a short moment before pushing herself up, dissipating into shadows with a wicked and dangerous grin. Moving through the darkness effortlessly, she paused only when she detected the other. An eye opened slowly to observe just as the spotted cat finished its meal, then closed as it began to walk away. She emerged from the shadow and slunk silently some distance behind the other, noting its long ears and otherwise small but cat-like body. Lucky for it, she liked felines.

With a cackling hiss, she bounded forward in a sudden motion with her shoulders hunch and head lowered. Her unusually long tail curled above her back, thin and naked as the skin gripped the bones and muscles of which it was constructed. Though she was still covered in a thin veil of shadow, boils and rot were still visible on her skin. An eye had opened on her forehead, drifting in the shadows that moved there. Of all the times she could manifest eyes in her eyeless sockets, she never once chose to. A nasty grin cracked her face wide open and her claws dug into the ground. Was the other cat excited to eat? She didn't eat anymore.

"HOW..." her voiced scratched the surface of the air like claws on quartz, "...how did it taste?" Her grin grew, flashing several rows of gnarled and yellowed teeth. Being killed by radiation wasn't all that bad sometimes - she did get some cool chompers out of it.

After some time of walking, a noise alerted him. Was someone else here? He looked around warily. Now that he thought about it, he didn't really want anyone to be here. He preferred being alone. He gripped the stone in his mouth a bit tighter than normal. He looked around, but didn't see anything. The fur on his back stood up as he bristled, now hesitant to move.

And then, with a hiss, he saw her. Immediately, his eyes widened. She had a long tail, and was covered with what could only be described as a shadow. She also appeared to have boils and rots on her skin. He lowered his ears in fear as a grin appeared. And when she spoke, he felt as though he should flee right then and there.

He didn't want to speak, but felt as though he should. He set the pebble down carefully, not wanting it to make a sound and then rose back up. He opened his mouth and prepared to speak. "It," his voice was raspy. He hadn't spoken in who knows how long. He quickly coughed to clear his throat, and tried again. "It was alright." His voice was low and quiet. One would have had to be paying close attention in order to hear it. It also still had a raspy feel to it, which didn't help whatsoever. He shifted uncomfortably.
