Kallista watched as Todd seemed to follow the scent trail. She followed slowly, wondering what he had found. When he stopped, she looked out and saw a rather large creature. She didn't know what it was, but it started to make her mouth water. She watched, her head tilted slightly, as Todd crouched down. He wasn't going to go after it, was he? He was injured, there's no way he'd be able to catch it.

"Hey," she urgently whispered. "You're going to stay right there, ok? I don't want you getting even more injured." She kept her voice as low as possible, and sneaked a glance toward the rabbit, making sure it hadn't run off. It was still there. She turned away from Todd and crouched down, her eyes narrowed and focused on the rabbit. Her hind legs were bunched up under her, tensed as she prepared to sprint.

She leaped after the rabbit. It looked up in surprise and began to run away. Kallista ran after it, and just barely managed to catch up to it. She was able to kill the rabbit, and it now hung limp in her jaws. She felt satisfaction coursing through her veins. She had caught it! She quickly walked back to Todd and let the rabbit fall next to him. "There. That should provide a much better meal than those fish."

Todd was about to protest, but by the time he'd opened his mouth, Kallista had the rabbit already. Good thing too; what Todd didn't realize was that the creature wasn't like the fishes elsewhere in the room, and if he'd spoken it'd have scarpered. "I won't get all that bad injured, 'sides I feel good now," he mumbled in embarrassment. However the thoughts were gone like a fleeting breeze as Kallista dropped the rabbit in front of him. With a happy little yip he greedily jumped on the fallen creature and dove right in.

He'd forgotten what fullness felt like, and the more he ate, the more hungry he seemed to become. Selfish as he was upon hatching, the thought hadn't even crossed his mind to ask Kallista if she wanted any, but he looked up eventually as he was having some trouble crunching through the bones. There was plenty of meat left on the underside, but Todd hadn't quite thought about that yet. Besides, he seemed to be having fun enough with the bones, as a series of expressions crossed his face with every chomp.

Kallista just grunted and watched as Todd immediately began to eat the rabbit. She sat there, a bit awkward, as he ate. She was hungry, but she wanted Todd to get full before she even thought about eating. She didn't even realize she was hungry until she caught the rabbit. She had been so focused on making sure Todd was fed that she completely forgot about her hunger.

She let out a soft chuckle as he began crunching on the bones. She shifted a bit, not really sure if she should start eating as well or wait. She decided she ought to wait, at least a little bit. "Having fun with those bones?" she asked, watching as his expressions crossed his face with each chomp.

Todd kept chewing, and chewing, and chewing... Until finally he had enough room in his moth to speak. "They take some getting at," he replied, splattering more than a little bit of rabbit. After a few moments he bent down and pulled another bone free, exposing more of the juicy red flesh beneath. A look of pleasant surprise crossed his innocent face and he dropped the bone.

The fox bent down to eat again, but was distracted as he noticed that Kallista was watching him. The little fox was confused; he didn't properly understand the needs of others, but suddenly he.. Wasn't hungry any more.

Shuffling awkwardly, he nudged it towards Kallista with a paw. "Do you want this? I'm all full up," he droned, licking the scraps from around his mouth.

"I see that," Kallista murmured when he was finally able to speak. A light smile crossed her face a this surprise as he realized there was more flesh. She then blinked in surprise as he nudged the carcass towards her. She gave a nod, murmured a quick "thanks," and began eating. The red flesh was incredibly juicy, and she felt as though she couldn't stop eating. She knew she was hungry, but she didn't realize that she was this hungry. Before long, what was left of the rabbit was gone.

As she finished, Kallista swiped her tongue around her jaws, getting any scraps that were leftover. "Alright. Now what?" she asked. She wasn't really sure of what to do now. Both her and Todd had been fed, so she was at a loss of what was next.

Watching almost longingly as Kallista ate, Todd bent down to pick up the bone he'd had a minute ago and resumed chewing, though with less vigour as he had used before. Ears twitching minutely, he pondered his own actions, though it didn't really matter. Taste was good but his belly was full, and it didn't feel so good just to spit it out. "Mm-hm? Thanks!" he replied curiously, although noticed that Kallista had already finished.

She asked him that question and Todd could only shrug, not really knowing or caring. It wasn't as though he could do much after all, but admittedly he did feel a lot more confident right now. It'd been so long since he'd had any proper company...

Looking up, his eyes brightened. He dropped the bone at his paws and swatted it away with a pleasing skittering sound. He looked at Kallista then, excitement all over his features. He hauled himself up and limped after the bone. "I wanna do that again!"

Kallista watched as Todd started chewing on the bone. She began to lick herself a bit more, unsure of what else to do. She was licking her tail when Todd began to play with the bone. She watched for a bit, amusement in her eyes. "Oh, you do, hm?" she chuckled. She grabbed another bone and batted it. Huh. That was kind of fun.

She swatted the bone again, aiming it towards Todd's direction. Playing with the bones was quite fun, she admitted to herself. And since neither of them really had anything else to do, why not play with the bones?

"Uhuh! Uhuh! I'm doing it now!" with a big and dramatic sweep of his paw he cast the bone as far as he possibly could... only to miss completely. His balance completely thrown, the fox's transferal of weight with the attempted bone whack pulled him completely off his paws, and he gave a little yelp as he crashed onto his stomach. He lay there winded for a few moments, looking dazed before a none skittered to a halt in front of him.

He glared at Kallista for a second with a betrayed look in his eye, which quickly lifted to be replaced by a foxy grin. He reached out with his bejeweled paw and flicked it back, though it didn't get very far with so little effort. Still, he had a plan. there was still a bone sitting tauntingly in front of him and Todd knew very well what he was going to do with that one.

He focused on the bone, and sucked in his breath as hard as he could.

Kallista gave a slight smile as Todd completely missed throwing the bone and landed on his stomach. She stuck her tongue out playfully as he glared at her. She watched as he half-heartedly swatted the bone in front of him. She blinked and watched as he seemed to focus on the bone. She tilted her head. "Just what are you planning to do?" she asked, watching through slightly narrowed eyes. She sat and stared, wondering why he was focusing on the bone so much. What was he going to do?

Todd sucked in his breath, concentrated until he felt lightheaded, and then let it all loose. The gem on his paw flashed briefly and the bone seemed to jump leap as though hurled physically, it skittered forward, bouncing, bouncing, before finally rolling to a halt somewhere nearby Kallista. Todd gave yet another grin, fluffing out his fur in nothing short of a proud display.

"That! I did magic!" he slowly pushed himself back up into a sitting position, ears pricked. "Oh, Kallista, Kallista! Can you do magic, too? Can you?" His eyes widened as he wondered what kind of spells she would know, and if she could teach him.
