Kallista blinked in surprise as the bone seemed to leap through the air. Her fur ruffled from the blast of air. It skittered forward until it came to rest her her tail. "...Wow," she murmured. She hadn't been expecting that. "Good job." She flicked an ear and chuckled. "Yes, i do believe I can do magic as well. Can't say I've ever tried it, though." She shuffled her paws, before taking a deep breath and focusing.

She held her breath a bit, and felt her gem slightly glow. Before long, small sparks of electricity began to crackle around her fur. Her fur slightly lifted from the static. She looked over at Todd, a smile on her face. "See? I told you I can do magic!"

Leaping to his paws all flustered with excitement, the little fox soon slipped back down as was inevitable these days. His heart swelled with the praise and the fox let his tongue loll out to obe side, eyes wide and admiring. "I wonder what you can do? I'm looking for all the spells, 'cause Khloros said I can find em and I think magic can do a lot, it can be real cool!" The young one yammered excitedly, before grinning to bare sharp fangs.

He looked carefully at Kallista as she concentrated, and as he began to see the electricity crackling between strands of her fur, Todd was reminded of a... Less savoury moment in his life. The way she crackled and sparked was exactly akin to the way that the rhino had 'played'... And it triggered an involuntary reaction. With a sharp yelp the young fox jumped back, throwing himself heels over head before sliding to a halt. As he did so, he flailed gor a few moments like a beetle before finally covering his eyes with his paws. If he couldn't see her, surely the same went for her.

"I dun wanna play..." he whimpered eventually, shaking in the fear that he might be found. "Not again, not again..."

Kallista continued to grin until she saw Todd's reaction. "Todd?" she asked, concern in her voice. He had jumped back and flailed. He now lay with his paws over his eyes. "Todd are you ok?" Immediately her fur stopped crackling and she practically ran to him.

"Shh, Todd, I'm not going to hurt you," she whispered as she pressed herself up against Todd in what she hoped was a comforting way. "Shh, you're alright now. Nobody's going to hurt you." She hated seeing him this way, the product of what she assumed to be what happened to him. They had left him injured, and now terrified of her spell.

@Todd -mm, when i saw you replied i thought he must have a similar reaction to what you said aha-

Sprawled haphazardly on his side, Todd risked a twitch of his paw so that he could barely see her. His body twitched as he sobbed quietly, a sound that threatened to spiral and grow. His ears pricked and twitched, before flattening back against his skull. She was there, no distance suddenly looming between them. The crackling had stopped, and so his sobs subsided, slightly; still that trembling, twitching convulsion remained.

"Then... why?" he whimpered, barely understanding, his body quavering with fear. He returned his paw to over his eye as he felt Kallista's soft fur against his damp hide and failed to find the words to respond for a while. And then... "...I only asked to play one time. An... an they did that, too. Did they teach you? Did they get you, too?

Todd's eyes were round as he slowly lowered his paw from his face.

@Kallista - Yep! It makes things interesting though for definite :o

"I guess it was just the spell I was born with. They never taught me, nor have I ever seen them. And I'll make sure they never play with you again, don't worry," Kallista whispered comfortingly. She kept herself pressed up against his side, ears lowered flat against her head. Oh, how she hated seeing the fox like this. She wondered who had hurt him in the first place. She felt like asking, but decided against it. He clearly didn't want to remember. So she stayed quiet, just pressed comfortingly against him.

Todd thought hard, wondering if maybe that was the only time it were possible to find new spells. At birth; in other words, when the world first started to exist. Todd didn't know how he'd gotten his spell, but it was only when Khloros explained magic to him that he figured out its existence in the first place. So in his head, he couldn't have had it from the beginning.

The fox looked at her closely, absorbing every word. Spoken out loud, it had to be true, yes?

He gave a small nod, still seeming distracted. "I... I think I still wanna find all the spells, now. 'Cause when I do, they'll not be able to play again." he murmured eventually. Slowly he lowered his head onto his paws, relaxing slightly as he felt Kallista pressing against his side. With a last little shiver, he gave a loud sniff and pressed himself up against her as much as he possibly could, stretching out as he seemed to be trying to absorb the comfort through every inch of him.

"Finding all of the spells would be interesting. I wonder if there's a way to get even more spells," Kallista wondered, head tilting slightly. She watched as he relaxed against her, stretching so he could absorb any comfort. She lay there beside him, still unsure of what to do now. It was nice laying down beside him, even though his fur was slightly damp. But they couldn't stay like this forever, they had to do something. But what could they do? Neither of them were hungry, they had eaten a great meal just moments earlier.

"Hey," she whispered, "What are we going to do now?"

Todd gave a small shrug. "I think they're hidden somewhere, that's why I'm looking for them," he replied, smiling happily. "I found one but I dunno where it came from. I was hurt real bad, and I was scared and then... it just faded a little. All the hurt. I dunno what I did. It made me better though."

He sighed deeply, curling up into a ball of silver and black fluff. It took him a while to respond. "I dunno," he said eventually, with a wide yawn. "I'm gettin' a taddle tired of this room though, I've been here a long time. "We could go all exploring? Around the big caves! Everywhere! We can look for the spells together. Or we could try ta teach each other. maybe the spells are hiding in people 'cause I haven't found any not in people."

It all made sense now! the fox proudly puffed out his chest.

"I don't think I've seen anyone do a spell besides you and I," Kallista murmured, thinking. She hadn't seen many others, and none of them had ever cast a spell. She flicked an ear as the fox mentioned exploring. "Well, I suppose that would most certainly be interesting..." While she didn't want to admit it, exploring and looking for spells did seem like fun.

"Alright, we may as well go exploring around. Not like there's anything else to do. There's bound to be lots of spells. May as well go looking for them." Kallista let herself give a small smile. Yeah, that'd be fun. Traveling with Todd-the only friend of hers-and looking for spells. "Can we teach each other? That'd be interesting. I don't know how I'd teach you this spell...Not that, uh, you'd want to learn it," she quickly added.

Todd thought deeply, only to quickly shake his head. "I've not seen much magic. Mostly felt it. Hm... and only that time." he shuddered visibly before looking up alertly. "Yeah. I wonder how you could possibly just find spells like that. Where they hiding? I've never seen em anywhere." he wondered again out loud. "What do ya think they'll look like?"

Todd looked happy and excited as the cat agreed to his plan, and his thin tail twitched frantically as he considered it. "I dunno either. With my jumping spell, I always stare real hard at the glitter in my paw, and then I stare at the thing to make it jump! And then I concentrate really really hard... but it's pretty boring, and it doesn't always work." Todd thought he was a rather good teacher; he didn't seem to acknowledge Kallista quickly correcting herself.
