Seemed the little one had found the right word after all. Twitching her ears slightly beneath the cloth, which caused it to slide off after a few moments, the little one looked around frantically when she felt the cold on her fur. She whined again, softly and quizzically, before finally looking up at the serval again.

"Can you show me?" the puppy asked shyly, and went bashful as they told her that she could too. The little one looked down at her paws. They were bright compared to the dark stone beneath them, but no matter how closely she examined them, they didn't seem to glow.

"How do you know?"

The young one's eyes widened as she beheld the orb, and she abruptly sat up, raising herself from where she'd been curled up. "Wow! Can ya teach m- huh?" To her surprise, the fabric came with her, hooked onto the gem on her chest. She shook her shoulders slightly, trying to shake off the large object that was many times bigger than she was. But... She didn't care that much. She could take the warmness everywhere now!

"I-I saw you glow," he whispered. The orb floated beside his head, illuminating that side of it, and casting the other side in shadows. "I'm uh, not sure if I can t-teach you. Even if I could, I'm not sure as to h-how." He shifted his paws some more. He watched as the wolf sat up, and the fabric followed. It didn't seem to want to come off.

"I can also make myself glow, l-like you can..." He took a deep breath and began to focus. The orb began to disappear as he lost sight of it in his concentration. Before long, his fur began to glow faintly. He didn't glow very bright, and it was hardly noticeable. But he was still glowing, at least.

The little pup was flabbergasted at the idea that she glowed without even noticing. Such a thing could be dangerous! Everyone'd see her, even the ones she didn't want to! Maybe the glow would lead to her downfall someday. Suddenly apprehensive, she watched the cat's actions closely, even though they'd refused. It was... Disappointing. She couldn't help but let her ears droop slightly.

"Okay, then," she murmured, still trying her utmost to absorb what she could from his concentration.

"Can everyone make themselves... And other things... Glow?" she asked quietly. It didn't seem like anything unique. But nontheless, the little one sucked in her breath and held it, concentrating as hard as she could and closing her eyes tight. "D-did it work?" she muttered out of the side of her mouth.

Zevruu flicked his ear. "I d-don't think everyone can do it. You're the o-only other person I've ever seen do it," he murmured. He hadn't met many others, and not all of them even demonstrated their spells, but he was almost certain not everyone could do this. Only a select few could. ...Right?


"U-uh no, it d-didn't work," he whispered, a bit hesitant. The young one would surely be disappointed upon hearing that it didn't work. "But the spells don't a-always work right away. The, uh, first time I t-tried my spell, it took four tries for it to w-work. You just have to b-be patient, I guess." Zevruu shuffled his paws awkwardly. He didn't really like having to talk so much, and his constant stuttering always annoyed him. He couldn't control it though, and continued stuttering.

"Hmm..." the little pup looked doubtful for a moment. "And you, too." she replied eventually, before giving a tiny shrug. It... didn't matter. Did it? At least she knew now there was a light now in this cold, dark world. And she could harness it, supposedly. She... didn't know if she believed it very much, having never seen herself. "Hm," she considered. "If you say so. Maybe it'll just... y'know... happen, one day.

She didn't know if she wanted to, anyway; surely she'd be as dark and gruesome as what she assumed the rest of this dark, cold place was.

She looked around at the dark walls of this crevasse surrounding them on all sides. "Is there any more to the world than this?" she asked softly, sadly.

She didn't like the dark... and it was dark here. So dark...

As the thought crossed her mind, the shadows began to seem darker than ever, hiding away from her in all those crevasses. She trembled, and the light covering the area flickered and trembled in return. The pup looked down, set her gaze on those small, bright paws. For the first time in her life, all the doubt drained away from her gilded features.

Zevruu flicked an ear. The other seemed...Kind of down. He wasn't the best at perceiving emotions, but she definitely seemed sad. He blinked at her question. Was there more to this world? Well, he had most certainly wandered around a lot. "T-this isn't quite all that there, uh, is. I've t-traveled a lot, and I've seen m-many other places, not just this," he stuttered. He thought back to the places he had been to. There was one with a lot of bones, and one with water. Those had both terrified him.

Zevruu opened his mouth to speak again, but decided against it. What more could he say? 'Oh yes, there are other places, but one is full of bones and the other full of water! Yeah, that wouldn't work. He didn't want to scare the little wolf. As he was thinking, he looked over at the wolf and noticed she seemed to be glowing. "Y-you're glowing! See, I told you y-you could do it!"

Kin-Kin's ears pricked slightly. Other places...? She wondered what they were like. Probably dark and damp, like this one. The young one decided not to ask, so she shrugged her shoulders slightly before giving a slight nod. Likewise, the cat opened his mouth as though to speak, only to close it again soon after. Kin-Kin guessed that even if she had asked, the answer would have only brought more gloom.

As the cat spoke again, the little one dragged her attention away from her glowing paw for a moment and gave a slow nod. A smile had begun to form on her face. "It... it looks natural. Like it... was meant to be there." Her paw was bright, and as she wiggled her toes the light flickered about her. "Hey, I... What do I look like? Am I... like you?"

She paused.

"Who are you?"

"Y-yeah..," he trailed off, and then blinked. What did she look like? "W-well, you're really small, but y-your paws are big. And you're a pale y-yellow color, especially when y-you glow." What else could he say about her? And...was she like him? He too was small, but not as small as the one before him. He also had a pale golden fur color, though his was littered with stripes and spots.

Who was he? ...Who was he? He knew he was Zevruu-a name he made for himself-and that he was a serval, but that's all he knew. "I-I'm, uh, Z-zevruu," he stuttered. "Who are y-you?" He figured he may as well ask who she was.

The pup listened intently, her ears twitching minutely. To be honest it... didn't answer all that much. she looked down at her paw. Big paws? Check. Pale yellow? Check. She looked back up at the serval. Small? Well.. smaller than anyone she'd met so far. A deep sigh formed in her throat. "Thanks," she replied, trying not to seem a little gloomy. To be truthful, it seemed as though she didn't actually look that bad- but she didn't want to make a commitment to the idea before she'd seen her face.

"Nice to meet you, Zevruu," Kin-Kin said quietly, with a slight nod. And then he asked a question, the answer to which she didn't really know. She hesitated for a moment. "I don't know. I guess I'll... have to find out, somehow." she hadn't even seen her own face yet, how could she make any assumptions?

Zevruu lowered his ears slightly. She seemed kind of sad, something that the small Serval didn't like. He didn't want her to feel sad. He blinked. "N-nice to, uh, meet you as well," he murmured. "Oh... w-well, there might be, uh, a puddle or something nearby..," his voice trailed off. "I-if you wanted to, uh, y'know, see what you look like for yourself." He shifted his paws a bit before beginning to look around.

Zevruu looked around for a bit, but couldn't seem to find a puddle nearby. Disappointed, he lowered his ears again and murmured, "O-or, uh, maybe not..."
