Sky instinctively jumped at the sound of a voice they did not recognize. They turned to face the source of the voice, seeing a serval much larger than the two kittens. The serval looked just as uncomfortable as Sky felt. As glad as they were to see someone who possibly had knowledge of the area, they still weren't the most excited about talking to someone new after just meeting someone. Nevertheless, they answered with as much confidence as they could.

"Y-yes, we are," Sky mewed. They winced at the sound of their voice - not nearly as bold as they had hoped. "We.. don't really know where we are, or anything.." They looked up, locking eyes with the serval. "Do you know anything about this place?"

Splashy jumped and squeaked in surprise as someone spoke. She whirled around and saw a much larger Serval before her. She froze. The Serval, while not as big as it probably could be, was still much larger than them. He was clearly full grown, while they were merely a newly hatched cat. Upon closer inspection, Splashy realized that he seemed just as shy and nervous as she was. He stuttered when he talked, and seemed fairly uncomfortable. This calmed her a bit.

She glanced over at Sky and let them talk. She waited patiently for the serval's answer, wondering what this place was.

Zevruu blinked, and then thought a bit. "W-well, while I wasn't hatched here, I do k-know a bit about this place, I, uh, guess. This particular cave, called, uh, Pisces I believe, is...m-mostly wet everywhere. There's also, as I-i'm, uh, sure you've noticed, a waterfall. There are o-other places as well, not just this place," the Serval murmured. "I hatched I-in Orion," he quickly added.

Zevruu began to wonder how many places there were here. He certainly hadn't been to all of them... He had only been to...'Let's see..I've been to Orion, Pisces, Fornax, Canis...Was that all? He was pretty sure that was all. But he didn't necessarily need to tell the others that. Unless they asked, of course. To be completely honest, most of those-Fornax and Canis especially-were quite scary, one being full of water and the other bones.

Sky nodded slowly, taking in every detail they could of what the serval had just said. They opened their mouth, preparing to ask about where Orion was, before they noticed a deep scarlet gem on his shoulder. "What is that?" they whispered, completely mesmerized by the shiny crystal. That was two animals with some sort of anomaly to them. Or perhaps, Sky was the one with the anomaly.

They slowly turned back to look into the waterfall to see if anything different had appeared. Nothing. Their ears lowered in disappointment. These two creatures had cool shiny things on their body, and what did Sky have? Absolutely nothing.

As far as they could tell, that was.

Zevruu blinked in surprise. What was what? The gem? His was rather noticeable, a red color that stuck out against his fur. "What, m-my gem? I'm, uh, pretty sure everyone has one. Some are more n-noticeable than others." He looked over toward the fluffy kitten. Hers were obvious, since they stuck out from her head and neck. He turned his attention to the other. He couldn't see theirs. Perhaps it was hiding?

"I, uh, think it may also be possible for the gem to be I-inside the body, so that you can't see it. Or, maybe it's just h-hiding...? You have a tuft of f-fur on your head, maybe it's hiding under that?" He supposed that could be possible. He thought about moving the tuft of fur to see for himself, but quickly decided against it. The last thing he wanted was to make them mad at him.

Sky looked up at their forehead, their eyes crossing slightly. Just as the serval had said, an unusually long patch of fur hung over it. Lifting their paw while still trying to maintain balance, they carefully brushed the tuft away, revealing a light blue stone with thin white stripes running through it. Despite it not being quite as shiny as Splashy's or the serval's, they were happy to see it nonetheless. A loud purr of joy escaped them before they could stop it.

Suddenly, a thought occurred to them. "Hey, what's your name?" they asked, looking back at the serval. Their eyes were shining, their curiosity piqued. They hadn't even considered the question prior. It almost made them feel bad, knowing they had put this new friend through so much trouble without even asking for his name.

Splashy listened to the serval's words. So everyone had a gem? She looked over at Sky just in time to see them move the tuft of fur, revealing a white and blue gem underneath. "Oh, y-yours is so pretty!" she gushed. She looked over at the serval and saw his gem, a shiny red one right in his shoulder.

She then turned her attention back to him. What was his name? She had been so caught up in his words she had hardly even thought to ask. Not that she was really talking to him anyway...

Zevruu gave a soft smile upon seeing the gem. "S-see? You have one too!" It made him happy to see that they were happy. He then blinked as he was asked a question. "M-my name? I'm, uh, I'm Zevruu. What's yours?" His gaze flicked to the gray and white kitten. "And yours?"

While he waited for a response, he thought about what else he could tell them. They clearly didn't know much, and so he put it upon himself to tell them as much as he knew. With a jolt, he thought about one thing he could tell them. "O-oh, and also, t-there's these spells you can, uh, do! There's all kinds i, uh, think, although I've only seen a f-few." Admittedly, the ones he had seen most of were ones much like his own. He wondered what kinds the two had.

Sky felt their face heat up from Splashy's compliment, shyly meowing a "thank you". Their ears perked at the serval's reply. "Zevruu..," they repeated. "That name is so cool!" They stared back up at Zevruu. "My name is Sky." The white kitten's tail waved in the air steadily as they listened to what else the older cat had to say.

At the mention of spells, Sky gasped. "Spells? So we're, like.. magical?" A wide grin spread across their face. "What kinds have you seen?" They suddenly stopped. They didn't want to sound too excited about it, even though they were. But Zevruu was still clearly a bit uncomfortable, and they didn't want to put too much pressure on him.

"Y-yeah, spells. We are, uh, magical." Zevruu's smile grew a bit wider. They were clearly excited about it, and he had to admit he was too. He had always been fascinated with spells. "U-um, I've only seen a few...I've mostly, uh, seen light magic, which is what I have. There was o-one other spell that wasn't light m-magic, but I'm not sure what it was... T-that's all I've seen," he murmured.

"H-here, let me show you one of the l-light spells..," his voice trailed off. He began to close his eyes, focusing on the gem on his left shoulder. It began to glow a little bit, but eventually gave out. Opening his eyes, the Serval soon realized it didn't work. He lowered his ears in shame. "S-sometimes, it doesn't work though..."
