Sky noticed the shame resonating from Zevruu, realizing the spell had not worked. "That's ok, I guess it can't just work all the time," they mewed, although their own disappointment was evident. Admittedly, the dim glow from Zevruu's stone had been cool, but Sky wanted to see the spells in full effect. They tried to recall how the serval had attempted his spell, but to no avail.

"Can you teach us how to do that?" they asked, growing excited once again. It couldn't possibly fail every time, right? They looked up at Zevruu with wide eyes, awaiting his response in anticipation. Surely he wouldn't just tell them about spells and not show them how to cast them.

Splashy listened as the Serval told his name. Zevruu? An interesting name. "M-my name is Splashy," she murmured quietly, hardly even noticeable. She continued to listen as he talked about spells. Spells definitely seemed rather interesting, and she wondered what kind she had.

Her ears perked up in interest as Zevruu looked as though he was about to cast a spell, but they lowered when she saw he had failed. She then glanced over at Sky and saw them also look disappointed. She then blinked, wondering herself how one goes about casting a spell.

Zevruu blinked in light surprise at the small kitten-Sky's-request. Teach them? He suppose he could try... "W-well, I don't think there's, uh, a specific way to do it but I s-suppose I could try... T-the way I do it is to just focus on m-my gem, closing my eyes. I try to c-call upon, uh, my magic."

He supposed he could try again. Maybe with a different spell? Like he had said, he closed his eyes and began to focus on the gem, trying to get his magic to work this time. He didn't want to disappoint the two again. Soon, his gem began to faintly glow. All around his body, a light glow could be seen. He had done it! He had succeeded! He had made himself glow. A fairly simple spell, but at least it worked. He looked at Sky to see their reaction.

Sky waited impatiently for Zevruu to attempt another spell. A gasp escaped them as they noticed a faint glow appeared around him. "Wow..," they whispered in awe. "That's so cool.." They could barely bring themselves to look away and attempt their own spell. However, curiosity finally got the best of them as they wondered about the type of magic they possessed. They waited for the glow to fade away before they finally attempted their own spell.

They closed their eyes slowly. They wanted to be as calm as possible, so they could put all the concentration they could muster into their stone. Soon, a low humming noise could be heard. Sky opened their eyes, the sound beginning to distract them. Is that me? they wondered, as the noise slowly died down. "D-did I do it?"

Before long, his spell began to die down until he was no longer glowing. When that happened, Zevruu turned his attention to Sky and watched them cast their spell. Before long, a humming noise reached his ears. It sounded weird, he had to admit. Y-yep, you did it," he reassured the kitten, softly smiling.

He then turned toward to the other kitten, Splashy. "Why d-don't you try?" he asked her, head tilted.

Splashy let out a gasp of amazement as Zevruu began to glow. It lasted for a few moments before it went away. She then turned toward Sky and watched them cast their spell. They were successful, and she could hear a low hum. It went away soon enough. She then thought about whether she should try hers. She was nervous, not really wanting the attention on her.

But before long, Zevruu asked her about hers. She took a deep breath and closed her eyes, as the Serval had done. She began to focus on this spikes on her head and neck, and tried to cast her spell. Soon enough, she could feel water from the atmosphere began to stick to her fur, and she began absorbing it. The humidity in the room seemed to have lowered just a tiny bit. She didn't really like the feel of the water, but she had done a spell! She looked over at Sky and Zevruu, wondering what their reactions were.

Sky's eyes widened in amazement as they noticed Splashy's fur become slightly more damp. "This is incredible..!" they whispered. "Congratulations, Splashy!" Their attention returned to the older gembound. "What else can you teach us?" Surely there had to be more spells.

As they waited for Zevruu's response, they looked back to their reflection in the waterfall. Their stone was a bit large for their head, but they were certain that they would eventually grow into it. They turned back to face the serval.

Splashy shifted her paws a bit, slightly uncomfortable but also glad that Sky seemed impressed by her power. She then looked up at Zevruu, wondering what his reaction was. She also wanted to know what else he could teach them.

Zevruu watched as Splashy casted her spell. "N-nice," he praised her, smiling. He then turned his attention back toward Sky. "W-well...Let's see. Oh, I s-suppose I could, uh, show you my other spell. Hopefully it'll work this time..." his voice trailed off. He really did hope it worked this time around.

He closed his eyes, as he had done multiple other times. He cleared his mind of all thought, and focused on his gem. This time, the gem didn't even glow. Not even a tiny bit. No ball of light began to float around him, there was nothing. Just darkness. And water. A bit less humidity than there was moment before, but that wasn't even his doing. Realizing he had failed again, he gave a sigh. "G-guess it really j-just...doesn't want to w-work," he chuckled lightly, giving a smile that he hoped made it seem like his failure didn't bother him, while in truth it did. He had failed twice!

"W-well, nevermind that! I g-guess it can't always work. W-what all else do you, uh, want to know about? I'm n-not sure I know much else about s-spells. But I can hopefully t-tell you about other things. W-what do you want to know a-about?"

Sky thought for a moment. What else did they want to know? They hadn't really put much thought into it, hoping that perhaps Zevruu would come up with a topic. Finally, they settled on something. "Is there anyone else like us?" they asked in a low voice.
