Stepping out into Canis, Bones began to shake himself as spell faded away. He didn't quite glance back to check if the new gembound were still following him anymore, but he did continue to step forward with aching legs, soon sitting down. He sat back onto his haunches and tilted his head upwards, almost ritualistically, and howled.

It was a howl that gembounds of Canis were probably familiar with - it was a cry for someone's attention, specifically, the attention of either Kerberos or Giggle, but the short howl was quickly followed up with a sharp "Brother?"

Only now, after calling the other canine did Bones turn his head to check if Zaire was still behind him and entering Canis with him.

Hunting was something that Kerberos had tried to do outside of Canis, if only to keep the scarce rat levels from dying off completely in his home, but today he wanted to see if he could catch one. They were smarter here in Canis, and he always could use a way to hone his (honestly rather poor) hunting skills. Harassing the cave rats probably wasn't very good for their health, but the massive beast of a hound figured he made it all better by giving them what Leon had called "smoochies" once he had caught them.

After a while, though, he found that it was impossible to find any rats at all. With a whine, he laid by the walls, staring at cracks waiting for the tiniest glimpse of movement. It wasn't until a familiar howl snapped him out of it that he returned to his feet and glanced around, ears perking as he realized the rest of the world existed.

Within moments he had pinpointed his brother, Bones, at the solitary entrance to Canis. With not one but three grins, the towering beast loped towards Tunnel K, clearing the fields of bones in literal seconds. He slid to a stop before he got too close, scattering the remains of the deceased about carelessly behind him.

As usual, he was a terrifying sight, even with dopey grins and panting, slobbery tongues. His middle head had never healed properly-- a scarred mess from a battle with a master magic user gone completely savage. He stood above Bones, towering, a giant snake tail wagging sluggishly behind him.

His right head, differentiated from the others by a slightly oranger nose, bowed down to give a gracious lick to Bones' head, while his other two mouths woofed a greeting. Heat seemed to roll off of the literal hellhound, enveloping the entrance.

"Brother!" The left head, with a redder nose barked first, followed by the scarred middle, "Hello!" His mammoth body wriggled with delight at seeing his lovely brother, rattling bones and almost shaking the very earth itself as his feet stomped the earth in place. "Everything okay?"

It was an important question to ask, considering how dangerous the caves often were. There was a reason why the Bonebound had a massive, four ton cereberos guarding the doorway to Canis.

Zaire Alesius

Keeping to his plan, he wouldn't just give up when he had already made up his young mind, Zaire followed behind the similar creature. Of course, he kept his dark body hidden amongst the shadows as best he could but as the started to leave the place he hatch things were starting to get lighter, much to his dismay. Every step he took the sense of familiarity, of home, the strange feeling that he belonged where everyone else did not in that tunnel started to dissipate. Why couldn't Bones just have stayed in the safety of the dark? It was so much better. So much more welcoming. Nope, he had to do that weird thing back there before they left where his body lit up, too much light for the dark boy as soon as he hatched. Thankfully he let the spell fall away.

He had tripped once on their journey through the tunnel, thankful the dark sides that the walls created had masked this. He had tripped up on his own legs, still getting used to the feeling that came with them and how to control them. The ground started to come closer all at once and before he knew it his chest and chin was flat on the ground with his legs splayed out around his body. The shadow pup had scrambled up quickly, pushing the pained and almost confused whimper dawn, he did not want to draw Bones' attention, not when he had failed at something as simple as walking. Although his legs weren't the only ones that had trouble carrying his body, the other canine had said something about his legs not working, which Zaire had already caught onto.

They reached an entrance to some place, Bones had said something about Canis, was this it? It didn't look like much, just more of the cold grey stuff, which, don't get him wrong, he loved but he was hoping to see some of those things that the other canine had mentioned, the ones that held your body up. His thoughts were cut short by the sound of something loud coming from a head, coming from Bones himself. What was that? Could he do it too? Looking up at Bones with his fire eyes he opened his maw and pointed it towards the ceiling, letting out his own attempt at a howl. It sounded wrong, it was too high pitched, cracked and he couldn't finish it without his voice failing on him. It was more of a puppy yowl mixed in with a high bark then the sound that the older canine had made. That's not fair! How come he could do it where Zaire couldn't, he could speak and he could walk, so why couldn't he make that sound?

His failed attempt had made Zaire go into a mood, missing the word 'brother' as Bones had called out, too caught up in trying to howl and them mopping in the shadow to catch it. However, he couldn't miss the loud paw steps of a literal beast, standing tall and large in the entrance to what he had guessed was Canis. "Look danger" The humongous beast did look dangerous, even with that grin on all of it's heads, it had more than one! The shadow pup did not even sound afraid though, if anything he was excited. Never leaving the shadows, Zaire came forward, standing beside Bones now instead of behind and looking up at the monster with his dead fire eyes. There was no smile, no grin to show how the threatening look of the monster had excited him, just an emotionless boy staring up at a three headed beast with another canine stood beside his small form.

Maybe, if he was on the surface of Earth, Zaire would of been classed as an adrenaline junkie, but they weren't and so this was normal, at least for the shadow pup it was.

If he got to see danger more often, Zaire was never leaving Bones' side.

Despite Bones' aching muscles, his tail began to thump hollowly off the ground at the sound of bear-like paws thumping towards them and the sound of bones crashing and cluttering off the cave floor.

Kerberos was hot, too hot. Bones wanted cold, to soothe the burning aching limbs. A hot, slobbering tongue coated his fur and the dog returned the guesture with a customary lick to one of the dog's muzzles. "Hello," he said. "We're safe, but my legs are hurting. This is Zaire."

Bones now turned his snout towards the small black pup, ears flickering. "He's new, he hatched in the tunnel." The dog now lowered himself down onto his belly with his face against one of Kerberos' legs.

The gatekeeper of Canis wasn't cooling down any, but it did feel good to let himself off his aching bones for once.

Kerberos froze immediately when he noticed there was not just Bones, but another canine as well. Abruptly, all six red eyes homed in on the jet black grey wolf, his snake like tail going into overdrive-- if there had been any bones left near his hindquarters, they were now being thrown yards away at a dangerous, practically deadly speed.

"Baby!" The giant hound barked all at once, immediately dropping his forelegs down into a playbow, all three heads going in for the kill: Slobbering the heck out of the newborn shadow child as well. Only his middle head perked up, pulling back to make room for the ferocious, unrelenting purple-and-black blotched tongues full of slobbery moist drool.

"... Danger? Where?" The middle head asked, focusing on the Tunnel behind them-- it had been a long, long time since anyone had considered Kerberos a threat, at least, anyone who didn't yet deserve it. His wrath was contained for only the bad gembounds; no one was to hurt Kerberos' family. It had caused him trouble in the past (he had the scars to prove it) but his heart was true.

Anyway, it was easy to forget he was a giant murdery death machine; as a puppy he had tried to eat everyone, but his adoptive mother Giggle, and his brother Bones, had set him right. Life was good in Canis. He didn't have to eat everyone. Instead, he could protect and eat those who were bad. It was a lot better.

Zaire Alesius

Zaire did not speak as Bones introduced him, and although he didn't like how he was new, just barely out of the gem, he knew it was the truth and so could not argue with it. He moved out of the shadows, his only hiding place, to get a better look at the ferocious monster that stood in front of him. Weren't monsters supposed to attack though? That was the whole point of them being dangerous.

The shadow pup was pleased to have the attention of the beast though as his eyes came to gaze at him, the boy intrigued by the many heads that he possessed, although more fascinated by the way his tail moved and he heard some sort of clattering behind the large thing and his small form tried to move his head to get a look. From below the beast, the pup could see white things being thrown to the side by a large tail, were the white things what Bones had been talking about? Couldn't be.

Baby? Now that he could and would disagree with. "No baby, baby weak." He would try to explain, babies were the things that couldn't walk or talk right? Yet here he was, having walked from his hatching place to where they were now and having talked to both Bones and this new beast he would say he was no baby. The pup was caught off guard by the onslaught of tongues and slobber, a deep growl leaving his throat as he took a step back, attempting to free himself from the heads grasp, standing right beside Bones now. Lips up in a snarl "Don't do" He didn't like it, it felt like the liquid from his home, but oh so very different. Sticky and slimy, but in a weird way, he did not like it one bit.

"You danger: three heads, very big, beast." He had to know what he was right. If not, Bones must have told him before, they were brothers, whatever that meant, were they not. With that thought, his small head, the snarl gone replaced by his mask again, turned to gaze up at Bones. He was correct. He had to be. "You brother beast?" Screw his curious side.
