Macawi watched the little marten as his face showed the different emotions he was feeling. Still, he never said a word, and slowly the coyote came to the realization that maybe… he couldn’t. Of course, she didn’t know this for sure. Maybe he was still just too shy. Maybe he just didn’t like to talk. There was a myriad of possible reasons for the Gembound’s silence, and she found it actually comforting in a way — a reminder to her that sometimes she talked too much, and that she should really listen more often. Listening was good for the soul, after all.

When the creature nodded at her query about Baubling the bone, she gave him a grin, and then leaned down and pressed her nose against it, willing it to begin Glowing. Her cheek tingled where her Stone was — the source of her life and Magic, and she felt it flow down her face into her nose, and then spread into the bone, until it was glowing with a soft yellow Light. She sat up again, and nodded in satisfaction, then she slid the bone towards her customer with a paw. “There you are!” she said happily. “One Baubled bone for This One!”

At the creature's utter lack of a response, Macawi gave a laugh, and bounded off farther into Canis, quickly disappearing from view.
