OOC: Idk what happened to the post here but there was one here at some point I swear. Apparently I held down the title in the forum, not knowing that doing so would delete the first post. Lemme just rewrite like a really fast crappy one okay.

Fira was lying beside the river, contemplating life and the fact that she was about to be a parent. Soon another Gembound came along.

Polaris was such a beautiful place, but it wasn't a place Cure found herself traveling in very often. It was most certainly not a place her mother ever returned too. She had been told the story a couple times when she had been a kid. The great beast Raheera had made his fiery home here for what others would have assumed a long time. It was also the place where that dragon had nearly killed Amaria. If it hadn't been for her mother's gem, Cure would have probably been motherless to this day.

It had been a hectic past few days. Her return to Eridanus had been eventful, in a good way, and then her visit to Orion had left her thoroughly shocked and in awe. Not just one of her closest friends had returned, but two. Xerxes had forgiven her and...her twin sister had finally came back into the living. Honestly, Remedy had never died like Cure had imagined and thought for the longest of times, but it had sure felt that way.

Today Cure just wanted to go some where and look for things. Things she wasn't quite sure she was even looking for, but it had brought her to one of the caverns she had not spent much time exploring and that's what she was going to do today. Paws glided towards the crystal river and the leopard leaned down silently, dipping her muzzle towards the water to get a nice cool drink. The chilly waters cooled her straight down to her belly and she felt a bit of her fur ruffle up from the sensation. Once she soothed her thirst Cure pulled herself up and took a moment to observe her surroundings.

It wasn't long before she spotted the silhouette of another just down further along the riverside. Her head tilted in curiosity before she pivoted on her hind legs and bounced off towards that direction. She knew all good and well that not all strange, unknown gembounds were kind and welcoming. That some of them were cruel and sought to harm anything they settled their vicious eyes on. But Cure also knew she would never get anywhere in life if she continued to fear others.

So she strolled towards the creature in a leisured walk. Audits perked up when shee was finally able to make out just what kind of gembound it was. Another feline. Not just any feline, but another leopard it seemed. A grin ghosted across her features, but she quickly dismissed the excitement. She didn't want to get her hopes up just in case this wasn't a kind leopard. So, cure stopped a proper distance from where the leopard perched herself and finally called out, "Hello..I hope I'm not intruding?"

Fira smelled the other Cat long before she saw her. She kept her back to the Gembound, though, continuing to stare down at the river until she was spoken to. “Nah, you’re not intruding,” she said finally, turning to look at the visitor. She was constantly aware of their location to the den, though she would never make mention of it out loud. She was very protective of her unborn children, but she wasn’t so paranoid as to chase off anyone who just came by the river. What was the point in that? “What brings you to Polaris?” she asked, trying to be friendly.

Fira hadn’t met many other Gembounds since her emergence. Most of her time had either been spent with Destiny, or hibernating when all the Gembounds went missing. So she was always quite interested in meeting new creatures, maybe making some new friends. But now that she was bound to Polaris and the river, going out and meeting others wasn’t something she ever did, really. She had to stay close by. She had to watch over Destiny, gather food for her, watch out for their children and the den… It sounded as if she hated all of it, but really it was just her life. She relished the thought of having a true purpose — even if that purpose was essentially ‘domestic housewife.’

Relief washed over Cure as the feline turned to greet her with only hospitality instead of hostility. Idly she drew closer towards the leopard before finally relaxing back on her haunches. She didn't want to intrude too much on this felines personal space, so she made sure to leave a comfortable distance between them. If only for the fact the two did not know each other. Rounded ears pressed forward, listening to the leopard's question with the utmost curiosity. "I was just coming to do some exploring really," Cure answered honestly as she shifted her gaze away from the leopard and gazed around their surroundings once again.

The place was probably the only area she had not been in. Perhaps passed through, but never had she spent time in it. With her mother's nervousness about the great dragon still possibly lurking around somewhere, to the fact that it wasn't really a place she had friends in, Cure couldn't really find a reason to come here. "the name's Cure by the way," She returned her gaze towards the leopard with a warm, inviting smile. "Do you live here? Or are you just visiting the place yourself?" It was a gentle question, one that Cure made sure to make sound like it was a question that didn't have to be answered if the feline did not feel the need to.

“I’m Fira,” the cat replied when Cure gave her name. She noticed when the other leopard sat down a fair distance away, and smiled inwardly, appreciating the personal space. She didn’t mind when others got close — it was more the idea that this leopard knew that personal space might be important to someone and had gone out of her way to keep distance. That sort of thing was an important social skill to have. “In terms of exploring, you’ve got the river here, then there’s the Generator aways down the river.” She nodded her head in the direction of the great machine that powered the lights. “Then there’s the dam farther down, but I would suggest staying away from there. The Golems like to hang out over there, and they can be pretty dangerous.” She turned away from the river then, looking towards the tall blue spike that dominated the landscape of Polaris. “And over there is the Spire, of course.”

“I live here,” Fira continued. “With my best friend Destiny.” She was thinking quickly now so she wouldn’t attract attention to their den. “She’s off somewhere right now. Maybe fishing downstream.” The leopard looked at her new acquaintance then, blinking, waiting for a response.

Rounded ears perked with interest as Fira first spoke her name and then began detailing all there was to see withing Polaris. Cure's gentle sapphire eyes moved from one location to the next as the fellow leopard continued to list them off. Hearing about the golems had first intrigued cure, almost enticing her to go have a look on her own. She couldn't remember if she had ever come across a golem before, but she had heard from her parents how dangerous they were if you were not careful. Her gaze lingered on the direction that the dam was in for just a moment longer before she averted her gaze towards the towering spire that loomed over all of Polaris. She smiled as she studied the massive blue gem. At least she assumed it was just one big gem.

As Fira spoke of living here in Polaris with her best friend Cure turned her attention back to the feline. Cure offered a smile and gave a curt nod of acknowledgement. "It seems like a gorgeous place to live. I don't think I could live here though. There aren't any trees or cliffs," She laughed lightly in a joking manner as she once again peered around her surroundings. She had grown fond of the cliffs back in Orion, but even more so had grown to love the trees within Eridanus. And seeing as she could never bring herself to live in Orion any more Cure had made up her home in Eridanus with a close friend of hers as well. "I live in Eridanus, with a group of friends really." She spoke idly, deciding it good manners to give a few details about herself since Fira had done so. "Are the fish here good? I have only caught fish in The Eyes back in Eridanus," Her eyes shifted to the water they sat so closely too with great intrigue. For a moment she wondered if the fish would taste different since it was in a different part of the cave.

Fira nodded politely as Cure spoke. “I was born in Eridanus… I think…” she said, eyebrows scrunching as she tried to remember if that was true. “Honestly I move around so much I can’t remember… I’ve only been to a few places, though, since — since I recently decided to move here.” She’d been about to say, ’Since Destiny and I decided to have kids.’ She didn’t know why she was so nervous about revealing such a fact. Maybe it was some animal instinct in her that made her wanna hide her unborn children from the world. She wasn’t sure. All she knew was that she wasn’t going to tell anyone about her kids unless it was necessary. What if there was some crazy Gembound who took pleasure in destroying things and she told them without realizing their true nature? That could end very badly for her two opal chrysalises…

“Fish?” she asked, shaking her head to come out of her thoughts. “Honestly, I’ve never tried fishing before. I hunt the Cave Deer that sometimes roam around here, or take down rabbits and stuff. I don’t know why I never thought of fishing…” Fira gazed into the river, and then a grin split her face. “Hey, how about we try fishing now? Maybe it’ll be fun.”

Again Cure found herself listening with the utmost curiosity as Fira spoke. Though to hear that Fira had never fished the river of Polaris Cure found herself a little surprised. Then the offer to fish came at her and a huge grin spread across Cure's features. Of course she would accept that offer! She was starving....again. "that sounds like a wonderful plan. Fishing is fun, and frustrating sometimes," She laughed lightly as she quickly turned her gaze down. "Though, I will say if you're trying to catch a redfang to just be careful. They will give you a nasty bite," She hummed thoughtfully pondering the time where she nearly lost a toe to one of those buggers.

Fira nodded at Cure’s advice about redfangs, and then realized she didn’t know what they looked like. “Can you describe that type of fish for me?” she asked, and then she spotted a little silver fish darting around near the surface of the water, and became stock still. She watched the lesser creature out of the corner of her eye, and then very slowly turned her body to face the river, trying not to scare the fish away. It was swimming around seemingly without purpose, and Fira wondered how it was swimming so well against the current. She supposed she shouldn’t curse her good luck, though.

Another moment or two, and she lunged forward at the fish and snapped it up in her jaws, biting down hard and until it stopped wriggling. Then she flung it onto the pebbles on the bank at Cure’s paws. “For you,” she said with a cheeky grin. “Guests eat first.”

Cure purred with thought as she pondered on how to best describe the RedFang, "Well, they get pretty big. Their scales are gray so sometimes it's hard to see them at first, but you will eventually. They would definitely provide a good meal, but half the time they're trying to eat you while you're trying to catch them," She gave a little laugh at that last statement. As true as it was, Cure wasn't a big fan of trying to catch them. Sure they would fill your belly for sure, but Cure would rather keep her paw in tack while filling her belly with many of the other fish.

Before she knew it a fish was flung at her and she quickly moved to smack her paw over it so it didn't go flopping away; only then did she realize it was already dead. She gave a broad smile to the leopard and a curt nod. "Thank you! You're most kind," She purred before she idly bent down and took a nice big bite out of the belly of the fish. Her tail swished and flicked at the tip as she mulled over the taste of the fish, curiously examining it's chromatic scales. She wondered for a moment what kind of breed this particular one was. "So this friend Destiny of yours, what's she like?" She asked curiously, lifting her sapphire gaze up towards the leopard. She didn't want to be too invasive or make the feline feel like she was trying to pry, she was just honestly curious.
