Destiny smiled delicately, even though she couldn't see Fira's own grin. At this moment in time, she was truly happy, and she was determined that nothing would change that. At least, not right now. She couldn't wait for the day that the little ones emerged and saw the world for the first time. That was the thing she couldn't believe. It kept her going, even when times were at their worst.

She could hardly believe that it was Fira who'd insisted on doing this, for her.

It meant everything to her. Fira, one of her first and closest friends, had already been one of the most precious things to her, but now... Destiny felt she owed the leopard her life. "I won't," she assured her friend, sincerity in her voice. "I... I just can't wait for them to get here. That's when the real adventures will start."

As though her words made the idea real, emotions bubbled up in her chest. A culmination of nerves, happiness, and uncertainty all combined. There were no words to express all this though, so instead she lay down on her little bed of moss, yawning widely, and hoping that this nagging fear would simply go away.
