They'd been silent in their growth, developing with only their split personalities to keep them company. Tag-und Nacht had developed into a lithe beast with a streamlined barrel of a body supported by thin stilts. There was a much clearer boundry between who Sköll was and who Hati was. Since they were the only company they had, they learned to share their limited body that they were forced to walk in together.

For now, however, it was Sköll—the radiant moon—that often fronted. Not even Hati could argue the fact that the calculating and observing nature of the moon had managed to keep them alive and allow them to find easy sources of food. Not that it was very difficult in Eridanus, anyways. The whole cavern was just a burgeoning cornucopia of flora and fauna. Sometimes he ate strictly fruits from the twisting trees of the room, due to a lack of lesser Gembound prey, and other times, he feasted happily on flesh and bones. It was all adaptation.

Of course he'd visited the Alpha a few times, curious to know more about the strong female that roamed Eridanus with a confident stride and a puffed out chest. Behind the wolf, however, the strangest little being followed, like a little shadow of hers. He never quite got a good look to see what exactly he was. There was only a flash of inky black feathers with an iridescent sheen. He did note, however, that the wolf and the creature never touched. There was always a slight difference between the two, but they were close. Sköll could just tell as he watched from the treetops.

The Galahound hardly ever found the courage to confront the eldritch being, oddly enough. It was likely Hati's voice screaming in the back of their headspace against it, claiming that the creature was absolute poison. 'I doubt it is made to behave like poison, brother mine.' Focusing on the magicka that swelled within the stone embedded into the roof of the Galahound's throat, Sköll hardly heard the snappy response of Hati's, 'you doubt that. The problem is that we don't know for sure how they are. There have only been glimpses of them with the Alpha.' Huffing lightly, Sköll lashed his tail as he lowered his head to the branch he was clinging to. 'Don't worry, brother. You're getting far too worked up over this. Should anything go wrong, you know that we could likely outrun him.' At that, Hati fell silent.

The cat had gotten a hold of his tongue. Using the dexterous claws of his, Sköll clung to the branch that they had perched on. A scent fell upon his nose, one that of a lesser Gembound bird. They weren't exactly hungry at the moment, but Sköll hunted for a different reason today. Wriggling his hips slightly, he leaped at the bird. Landing with a single paw on it and his jaws wrapped about its nape, Sköll had already won. With little hesitation, he ended the rainbow spinner's life and took it into his jaws, plopping down on the branch and waiting, garnering a quiet thought from Hati. 'What the hell are you doing?'

Paws dragged over the ground, barely lifting in it's gate to carry him across the foliage. There was a few times the creature nearly tumbled over something that his paw just couldn't be lifted over. Wings were half folded, half slumped along his sides as his tail seemed lifeless as it dragged across the ground. It had only been, what..., two...three days now that he found his mother in her chrysalis? It seemed like such an eternity to him. He hadn't left the chrysalis. Never leaving as he kept himself tightly tucked into the side of the beautiful opal. He would have stayed there for as long as he could have, but the rumbling in his stomach that was slowly turning into a painful ache drew the hybrid away from his slumbering mother.

He had to get some food. As the hours continued to sweep by it only seemed to make his hunger grow and eventually Salethyr had convinced himself he had to go and find at least something to eat. The iris of his cyan eye had remained in it's X shape since for two days now, but it wasn't something he was aware of at the time. It just didn't feel right. There hadn't been a day he had gone, outside of his mother being in her weird stage and having left, that he had been away from his mother. It left him feeling rather lost and unsure what to do. He had no idea if his mother was even still...alive...

He shook his head almost violently as his lips peeled back into a snarl. No, he would not believe that one bit! She was alive and she would be out of that damned opal! But...when? He sniffled at his own thoughts before finally bringing himself to look up from his paws. His mother wouldn't want him wallowing in self pity. He needed to find food for himself and get back to the opal chrysalis. He focused quickly the way his mother had instructed. Calling upon the earthen magic he had been blessed with to assist him in finding those nearby.

He felt the humming of his gem and within a moment felt more than just one gem bound around. He gasped to himself, overwhelmed by the sensations that consumed him. He had never been able to use that skill so blatantly well before. His mother would have been proud of him. The thought of that nearly brought tears to his eye, but he had to shake them away as he took note of the much stronger vibration of a gembound near by. His head shifted, looking off to the side as his single eye turned in the movement. "H-hello?" He called, wondering to himself if it was that leopard that had come by a few times to check on his mother and him as well. He wasn't well off in his magic to know the difference between other gembounds gem's and the personal vibrations that belonged to their gem like his mother was just yet, but he would be there eventually. For now, his curiosity pulled him towards where the gembound may be lingering.

Skoll had just laid his head down upon his paws, allowing the spinner to be suspended over nothing when he felt just the faintest tug of magicka in the air. Cracking his jaws wide open in a yawn, he settled down a little more right before he heard a sound that caused him to perk his ears up. A voice. Looking up with mismatched eyes, then down, the galahound zeroed in on a rather blurred black creature, the very one that often followed the Alpha. Having colorless pupils, he was rather nearsighted, and the image was blurry. The bright blue glow of the creature's x'ed out eye was still evident and identifiable.

With a small smile, the man nodded and barked a greeting in response. "Hello." Colorful nebula-like tail trailing behind him, he leaped from his perch and landed on the ground with only the softest of thumps. "It's nice to see that you are well, royalty." Especially since he was without a caretaker, essentially. Tag-und Nacht as a whole did not doubt the survival capabilities of such an interesting creature, but there was never too much concern to be shared. With a small smile, the galahound strode forth and dropped the spinner before Salethyr, bowing his head for only a moment before his five eyes blinked and he gave a smile. "Go ahead. We're not very hungry anyways."

The bark quickly drew the creature's attention and his masked head yanked up to peer up towards the sound as his single eye rolled with the some movement to have a look. Though he nearly yelped when the canine came bounding out of a tree and landing in front of him. Wings instantly splayed out behind him in a startled manner as he wobbled backwards on his paws. For a moment he stared at the canine, more particularly at the tail that waved out behind him. It was only a matter of time before the young pup finally recognized whom had approached. One of mom's acquaintances. He lowered his masked head for a moment, keeping his single eye pinned onto the familiar creature. He had never really spoken to the canine before, more so kept hidden behind his mother's legs, but now there were no legs to hide behind.

Skoll's voice reached his ears and finally Sal began to relax as his tail gave a small wag before going lifeless against the ground once more. He was just about to greet the canine only for said canine to promptly drop a spinner just before him. He opened his mouth, almost to reject the thing if only because he was trying to fool himself into believing he was not hungry, but with a loud rumbling in his stomach his single eye went down case and he tentatively stepped closer and pawed at the spinner until he managed to pull it much closer to himself. With one last questioning look at the galahound Salethyr made quick work on devouring the small bird. It wasn't enough to fill him up, but it certainly helped the pangs in his stomach.

"Thank you..." He murmured quietly before bringing his gaze up towards the galahound, curious now that maybe he would actually have some courage and try talking to them. "I hope you're doing well yourself, Tag..." He wasn't quite sure what to call him. He had only ever heard his mother refer to the creature as Tag-und Nacht. So he could only assume that had to be their name. HHe took a moment to continue observing the galahound, lingering on his five eyes for a moment longer before that nebula-like tail quickly pulled his attention. It was quite a pretty looking thing.
