Destiny was lazing by her and Fira's den. She was sprawled out on the ground as though sunbathing, listening to the burble of the crystal river close by. She felt... off... today. Her head was hurting a lot, and so were her eyes, or where they should have been, anyway. Raised and rearing on sharp points of black opal, they stared off into nothingness, gooey fluid coating her cheeks and matting her velvety fur. They were still connected to her skull by bloodied tendrils that looked just about ready to snap. She tried to be positive about this whole thing but... well, that was a little hard. The platypus wanted nothing more than to drag herself into the water and let the cold numb her wounds, but even the slightest motion was enough to send shudders of agony racing.

And so she just lay there, shaking softly, occasionally muttering to herself.

Maybe she ought to call Fira? Her best friend was away hunting, but she didn't know where, or how far away. So it'd be useless to shout. She needed help. She needed encouragement, and healing... but there was no-one around to do so.

"Think about the babies... they'll be here soon," she mumbled softly. "Think about Fira, and Atsila... Think about Fairy. She'll be here soon, and I'll be all better then. It'll be all better."

She shuddered violently.
