It was time. Gadanai stood in her den, back nearly scraping along the ceiling, each stone from her long-past victims set out before her. One was a charming green, the other a mysterious purple. She set her eyes firmly onto the green stone first, remembering the day she removed it from the flesh of the young colt she'd plucked it from. This required focus, so she closed her eyes. It was weird, really. She never recalled closing her eyes for anything, not even spells. This... this was important, however. Crackling snapped her eyes back open in time to watch as emeralds began to crystallize around the stone, forming an egg of vibrant green. After the first chrysalis was tucked into a safe spot, she returned to the lung-shaped gem, excited to see this one begin life, as well. With her eyes open this time, she reached within herself and tapped into that magic once more. Soon, crystals began to grow, shaping around the stone in a much smaller egg shape than the previous. It was still beautiful to see, her potential held within the future of this unborn child. She build a leafy nest around the eggs, then settled down beside them.
