Eridanus was nice, but it was cramped. She could fly, but it wasn't easy. The shape of the cave made it difficult to glide. She had to work hard at keeping aloft. There was just no winning for the poor gryph, who seemed to be plagued by stale air where-ever she and Cure settled anymore.

Cure...

A fondness swept over Remedy at the thought of her twin, resting back in Eridanus but still right by her side all at once. Distance didn't matter anymore. Not really. She could reach out, and she did, to brush her consciousness against Cure's and they were together in this way, despite her talons tapping across Polaris stone. Just a little further.

I wonder if he'll feel it. Flight. Her wings stretched and her heart thumped in her chest. Polaris was the best place for flight in all of the caves. Here in the core, especially after Raheerah's destructive alterations, she could soar, glide and dip without worry of crashing into rock or tree. Here, she was free.

Heh. I wonder if he'll follow me for it. That was the last conscious thought she had before her wings snapped open and down with a percussive CRACK and she hoisted into the air like a whip. One beat. Two beats. Just seven to make it as high as she'd need to be, and then... and then the thermals met her from the river and the generator and she soared.

Effortless, but exhilarating.

Kin-Kin had been wandering Polaris for some time now. The air here felt pleasantly powerful, and the lights felt warm as she looked around. Homey. Light was her element, and so she felt surrounded by her own essence. In her element, if you will.

Here was one of the few places Kin-Kin's pelt didn't feel out of place. Not that she had a problem with that, the red wolf very much enjoyed being the centre of attention, but... well, she did love the effect this cave had on her fur. Yeah, that was it. She didn't really want to hide in the light. Not that she really could. Hiding in her cloak would probably be more effective, as she'd found before. Stylish, and also helpful in covering up the bright gold gleam. Hmmm...

...Seemed that being on her own for a while had gotten to her. She might as well have been talking to herself by this point.

A sigh brushed past her wet nose, her ears twitching to a nearby sound. Wingbeats! When was the last time last time she'd heard those...

An involuntary chill ran up her spine, her fur stood on end beneath the blue fabric draped over her. Cautiously she lowered her head, glancing around for the source of the noise. To her relief, it wasn't what she was expecting. Insteaad, a cat-like figure sent waves of air her way, gently stirring her fur, and cloak.

Kin-Kin sent a wolfish smile their way.

How she wished she could fly like that. Kin-Kin could train as much she wanted, but she'd never be able to truly fly. It was an impressive and beautiful sight to see in these caves. How it'd feel to be that sight, Kin-Kin could only imagine.

Within moments, they'd soared away high above her.

Trying in vain to look as grand, the wolf sat down and watched.

She swept across the roof of the cave like a streak of darkness, a shadow, though she was hardly trying to hide or blend in now. Remedy tucked her wings and dropped like a rock, then spun and spread again to suddenly swing back up into the heights of Polaris once more. Her acrobatics continued until finally, she felt the weight of someone watching her. Her head turned back as she soared, eyes landing on the cloaked wolf below, and soon she'd swept back around to approach.

She'd never seen this wolf before, be knew the species well. Arkrael was bigger, heavier set than this female, but this one had such pretty fur, and as she came close enough to see, pretty eyes as well. She gave a gentle twist of her wings and body and landed a few feet away upon a pillar of quartz. Her wings arched out slightly even once she'd settled, to balance as she perched almost delicately in place.

"Hello, wolf!" She certainly didn't sound upset to have eyes on her. After all, she'd once been a princess, and now, she was an Epsilon! Second in command, leader of a pack! Right alongside her precious twin.

That stirring again. A warmth in her chest at the thought. Oh how she glowed, with all the radiance of a newly wed bride! And she might as well have been, though the implications had yet to be completely discovered by either twin.

Kin-Kin gave a wolfish grin as she watched the other draw closer, and alight upon a nearby pillar of bright quartz crystal- like those Kin-Kin enjoyed admiring as a pup. Though her previous efforts had been thwarted by momentary carelessness, Kin-Kin wasn't about to let that happen again. Closing her eyes for a moment, she searched for the power held within her gem.

She waited for a moment, but still nothing happened.

It seemed her skill alone (Kin-Kin didn't doubt her skill one bit) could not guarantee success.

She opened her eyes brief moments later, and found nothing. Trying not to seem disappointed, she huffed air out of her nose and used her tail to shift her cloak across her back as if to exaggerate the fantabulous accessory. Like a dramatic flick of one's hair.

"Hello to you too!" she replied cheerily, with a bright nod up towards the stranger. "You make for quite the first impression, huh?" The wolf's voice was teasing and calm, though she didn't try to hide her interest.

"Name's Kin-Kin. Don't wear it out!" she chuckled. If she couldn't dazzle them, she could at least make her mark in another way. For now. She could always save the dazzling for later...
