Mjadhi had had two choices back in Tunnel I, the entrance decorated by pillars, or the entrance farther away, that seemed to glow with an eerie blue light. Although his friend Orion had told him about, well, Orion — the place — the civet had never been there, so he didn’t even think to check the other cave entrance to see if the ceiling was full of stars. Besides, he wanted to go there with his friend, so even if he’d chosen the other cave, he probably would have turned right back around and come here instead. And now here he was. Wherever Here was. Not Orion. That’s where he was.

A great Energy seemed to buzz in the air here, and he turned his head at the sound of boulders crashing together far down the river. Were… were those rocks moving by themselves? Rocks couldn’t do that, could they? Maybe those… weren’t rocks? Actually, the more he looked at them, the more they kind of freaked him out. Besides, they were by the river. Mjadhi didn’t know why, but he was very scared by the idea of going near that fast-moving water. He wasn’t old enough yet to put together that the “Darkness” which had nearly choked him to death inside his chrysalis had actually been amniotic fluid in his lungs. This translated to a phobia of water even if he didn’t quite consciously register such a thing.

Okay, well, he’d stay away from the river then. Maybe he’d go look at the giant blue… spike over there instead. It was huge and it glowed. It caught his attention, and he began to pad over to it on tiny paws.

Large paws moved slowly, traveling through the room that radiated with such energy. Sapphire eyes looked and searched the area, lost in wonder by all she saw. A great sleep had befallen Origin and she was no exception to it. Though, when the large hybrid had awoken she seemed at a loss. Memories flashed and faded in and out of her minds eye. Leaving her confused and quite unsure of where she should be, or just..who exactly she was. Her pure white fur had only just been cleaned from the dirt and grime she had woken to find herself in and it left a wave of relief rushing through her. Dirty fur was just not something she liked it seemed.

The hybrid wasn't even exactly sure how she had found herself in this place that she only vaguely remembered being called Polaris. Where she had heard that from she had no idea. It left her frustrated, but she didn't want to bother herself with it too much. If they were meant to her memories would return in time. Nostril's flared as she took in the scents from all around, curious to see if there may be something around that could soothe the rumbling in her stomach. Alas, the only thing she caught was the scent of water. With a shake of her head the grizzly lion hybrid continued on.

It wasn't long before she heard movement and her rounded ears twitched up into a more alert stance. She paused in her walking and glanced around once more before finally just calling out. "Hello? Anyone there?" After sending the question out there the hybrid stood stock still, listening and looking for any response that may come.

Mjadhi had begun his walk over to the Spire, and he moved slowly to take in everything around him. At still only a cycle old, he was extremely curious about the world and everything in it. He was also determined to do as Dovefeather had told him — and that was to explore the world. He was a good civet who followed instructions, because that was all he knew. And exploration meant you had to pay attention to the stuff around you, right? He admitted, he hadn’t really been looking around when he’d been in Eridanus or Tunnel I. Now he wanted to rectify that by taking in everything he could here in Polaris before he moved on.

He was paying so much attention to the Spire when the voice called out that he nearly jumped out of his fur at the sound. Quickly, he looked around, trying to find its source. “I’m over here,” he called out, unsure if that would be enough instruction for whoever had spoken. “I’m… uh… there’s a big rock next to me. Wait, maybe you’re on the other side.” He scrambled up the rock on little paws, slipping here and there, and then he was on top of it, and he was a little nervous being up so high. But the good news was that he had found the girl who’d spoken. “Hey there,” he said, looking down at her. “I found you!”

Ears twitched as the sound of another gembound's voice soon called back. Sapphire eyes turned towards a rather large rock just in time to see a smaller creature come scrambling over from the other side of it. A smile curled across her lips and she moved to fully face the creature with a curious gaze. "Hey there! You certainly did find me first" She laughed lightly as she eased herself down to sit upon her haunches as she regarded the smaller creature. She couldn't quite recall just what exactly he was, or if she had ever seen one before, but he was certainly interesting looking. "My name is...uhm...well honestly I...can't remember my name.. but it's nice to meet you. Do you live here?" It was a gentle question, one that was only meant to start a conversation and quickly pull away from the fact that she couldn't even remember her own name.

Mjadhi took in the sight of the Gembound. It was a girl Gembound, like Dovefeather, but she didn’t look anything like the small cat. Well, actually… she did… kind of… She had the same sort of face. But she was a lot bigger and bulkier than Dovefeather, and there was something about her features that said she wasn’t just a cat. Or maybe she was a weird kind of cat. The civet tilted his head from side to side as she spoke to him, trying to listen and study her at the same time. That was weird. Why couldn’t she remember her name? Mjadhi had been born knowing his name right from the beginning. Was that normal? Or… or was her version normal — that she didn’t know her name. Was he the weird one?

“I was born in a big green forest place,” he said, responding to her question about him living here. “Um… Eridanus. Yeah. That’s what it was called. And then Dovefeather — my friend — she told me to travel all over the world! She said…” Mjadhi paused here, trying to remember the cat’s exact words, but he couldn’t remember them anymore. Not clearly. “Well… she told me something about finding the All Mother in other places besides Eridanus… or something. I still don’t really know what the All Mother is… Dovefeather never really explained well. But apparently whoever the All Mother is can’t see… or something?”

Now he was just babbling, but he didn’t seem to notice. He was still too young to realize that doing so could be considered rude.

The hybrid listened with intrigue as the little critter began telling her where he came from and where his home was before he was off babbling about even more things. She sat quietly, a smile upon her features. It didn't bother her at all that he continued on with his babble. In fact she was more than happy to listen to it. Learning about anything knew seemed like something she enjoyed in all honesty. The name Dovefeather had came up a couple times, but the hybrid couldn't put a face to it. Or even think about if she had met this Dovefeather or not. Regardless, it was a friend of Mjadhi.

"So, the All mother is a what...and not a who?" That in itself left the hybrid confused and very curiously. So...how could someone be searching for something that was an object and not a...gembound? Her bear like tail twitched with thought behind he. "Have...you ever seen this All Mother?" She questioned curiously, blue eyes pinned on to the civet unblinkingly. She just wanted to know more about this All Mother, curious to know if it was someone who possibly pretended to be a something.

Mjadhi blinked as he thought about the cat’s questions. In his mind, she was just a really big cat. He didn’t even know what a bear was, but maybe if he saw one, he’d know it. “I think the All Mother is a who and a what at the same time. I dunno. Dovefeather made the All Mother sound really important, though. I just don’t know how someone could be everyone’s mother…” He scrunched his eyebrows while he thought about it some more, but he just didn’t have enough information to give the unnamed Gembound anymore about the subject… The unnamed Gembound…

“How come you can’t remember your name?” he asked innocently, unaware of the fact that this could be a rude question, or bring up some memories that could be unpleasant. He peered down at the cat with wide black-brown eyes. “I knew my name when I hatched.” Again, he thought that maybe he was the weird one, knowing his name automatically. What if… what if the name he thought he had wasn’t his real name. Oh no, now he was confusing himself… Could Gembounds have multiple names? He guessed so, but maybe he was wrong. “I think I made up my name myself,” he said to the cat. “What if you do that, too? You could give yourself a new name!” He smiled down at her encouragingly.

Rounded ears twitched as she contemplated the words he spoke. Her nose scrunched up immediately at the mention of this all mother being everyone's mom. "I don't know about any of that! It's certainly not MY mother. My mother is ... well... was?" She trailed off for a moment, pondering over the fact that she knew she had a mother somewhere. She just...couldn't remember who...or what she was. Quickly she shook it off and drew her attention back towards the civet. "Well in any case...who you speak of isn't my mom," she gave a little shrug as she soon relaxed into a more comfortable sitting position.

Blue eyes watched curiously when mjadhi soon asked why she couldn't remember her name. "Well...I know...I had one. I have memories of one...but it's like...completely washed away from my memory and I just can't think of it," the hybrid tried to explain. A small laugh escaped her over Mjadhi saying she should just make up a new name. "Maybe I should! Hmm...well do you have any ideas?" She looked herself over for a moment. Musing pleasantly over the pure white fur that covered her with only a black color painting the tip of her tail.

Uh-oh. The cat seemed bothered by what he had said about the All Mother. He didn’t have any parents himself, so he didn’t even think about the fact that the feline might have her own mother. “Oh, uhh… Yeah! I mean… your mom is… y’know… your mom!” Then he felt even worse since she couldn’t even remember her mother. “I’m sure you’ll… you’ll remember her soon!” he said, stumbling over himself in an attempt to be comforting and non-offensive. Man, sometimes words were still hard for him. It was like no matter what he did, he always ended up saying something wrong. He was still worried he’d offended his friend Orion, who had gone very silent shortly into their meeting…

He shook himself out of his thoughts when she spoke again, wondering if he had any ideas for a name for her. She wanted him to name her? “Oh, I, uh… um… Hmm… I don’t know,” he fumbled. “I never had to think about my name, it was just there when I hatched… I don’t know if I’m any good at naming things.” He looked her over, a frown of concentration on his face. “Well… you have really white fur, and it’s bright! Like… like stars! Yeah! My friend Orion told me about this place called Orion, where the ceiling has a bunch of bright stars in it. Maybe your name should be Star!” The civet beamed down at her happily, glad that he’d come up with something.

Stars? Now that was certainly an interesting name. It didn't feel right, or natural to her even, but it was kind of nice. For a moment long she continued to ponder over this new name idea, or at least until Mjadhi had began talking again. Her blue eyes lifted to his and she couldn't help but laugh a little. A friend named Orion telling Mjadhi about a place called Orion. That was kind of silly. "Was he born in Orion? Kind of neat he carries the same name as one of the caverns," She let a grin slide across her features. "And Star sounds fine...at least until I can remember my real name," She hummed thoughtfully, "Thank you!"

"So, have you explored a lot here yet? To find this All Mother of yours?" It was a rather intriguing idea that this All mother could be everywhere, yet no where. Star certainly hadn't heard of her before. Maybe it was because she actually had a real birth mother, unlike a lot of the gembounds that seemed to live among the caves. Or at least if she was remembering right.
