The cave crystals glimmered, beautiful tonight, beautiful every night. Vega payed no mind, paws ever in motion on the cool stone floor, wandering. As long as he'd been alive, he had yet to see all of the caves--sometimes, he wondered if he ever would. Sometimes, after a particularly friendly encounter, he wished he never did. Gembounds were alive with variety and uniqueness, and he had only seen so much in the cycles he'd seen, ones he could count on his forepaw.

But perhaps, burbled up from deep within him, that is a good thing. Perhaps that is how things should stay.

Vega dragged his hazy eyes to the blank cave wall to his left. He still had time to get out, the feeling nagged on. You're still so young. That's a good thing. You have time to get away. So much time lost, if you don't take good care to protect yourself.

He shook his head hard, as if dispelling water from his coat. The suggestion wasn't unheard of, but isolation would do nigh to protect anyone. Vega knew this. Nevertheless, the itch tugged at him now as it had time and time before--the real danger of being alone.

Perhaps.. it was time to take a break. From himself. Finding company was the new priority. At least, for now.
