A small smile plastered itself on Sky's face as Splashy repeated herself. They knew the other cat must feel uncomfortable. They knew the feeling. Their head slowly rose at the new questions directed at them. No memory of anywhere other than the place they were currently in showed itself. Certainly they had left the cave at least once? No, they were quite sure Pisces was the only place they had lived. "No..," they said slowly.

"Oh..," Splashy murmured. So they hadn't gone to other places, just Pisces. She had also stuck strictly to Pisces, not going anywhere else in hopes that she'd run into Sky again. And she had. But Sky didn't remember her. She sighed. "What...What do you want to do now?" she asked. Maybe they could go on pretending that Sky hadn't lost their memory? Could they continue being friends?

Sky looked down back at the lagoon again, considering the question. "Maybe we should look around a bit. I never really got a feel for the rest of this cave." They stood up cautiously, careful not to let their paws slip over the edge. They examined the area slowly, taking in their surroundings. Not far away was a collection of small ponds they were sure they had never seen before. "We could go over there first," they suggested as they nodded toward the lakes.

Splashy nodded. "Alright, w-we can do that." She stood and looked around. When Sky spoke, she looked over and saw her motioning over towards a collection of small ponds nearby. She nodded again. "Seems good to me." She walked over toward it, making sure Sky was following. When she got to it, she looked down and realized she could see some small fish. With a jolt, she realized she hadn't eaten in a while. She then looked over at Sky. "I don't know about you, but I'm awfully hungry."

Sky followed Splashy, their paws occasionally slipping clumsily on small puddles. Their stomach growled as soon as the other feline mentioned hunger. They looked down at the ponds, staring patiently into the water, waiting for a fish to swim by. When one did, their paw quickly flashed into the water, attempted to catch it. They caught a hold of the fish, scooping it out of the water and killing it swiftly. It was small, but it was enough for them to eat. They looked up sheepishly at Splashy when they realized that she still didn't have anything.

Splashy watched as Sky stared intently into the water. She jumped slightly in surprise when their paw suddenly moved, and her eyes widened as they caught a fish. "Wow! Lemme t-try!" She begin to stare into the water as well, waiting for the flicker of movement that would show that a fish was nearby. When one came, she quickly moved her paw and grabbed hold of a fish. She jerked it out onto the stony floor and swiftly dispatched it. It was a bit bigger than Sky's, but not by much. "There. Now we have food." She grinned at Sky.

Sky layed down in front of their meal, taking a small bite as they watched Splashy fish. The gray feline was cute, with the way she patiently stared into the water, waiting for her prey. As Splashy's paw cut through the water and pulled out another fish with ease, Sky watched with wide eyes, impressed. By the time she had turned to them with a grin, they had zoned out, mesmerized. When they realized that Splashy had said something, they shook their head quickly, gathering their thoughts and taking another bite of their fish.

When Splashy turned to face Sky, she realized they weren't watching. Or, rather, they were watching, but weren't exactly paying attention. She soon found herself looking at the cat's eyes. They were a very beautiful blue color, and she found herself staring. An awkward silence seemed to stretch on for a moment until Sky shook their head. She gave a small, nervous smile and settled down in front of her own fish. She took a bite. The fish had a slimy taste, but it wasn't entirely unpleasant.

Sky couldn't help feeling embarrassed that they had been staring at Splashy. They sighed as they finished off their fish. It wasn't their fault the gray feline was so pretty. They stared at the remains of the now meatless fish, pondering where to leave the bones. They decided to simply throw them into the pond they had caught the fish at, chuckling to themself quietly as they did so.

Splashy soon finished her fish and swiped her tongue around her jaws to get any last traces off. She followed what Sky did, and nudged the bones into the water. Her ears flicked as she heard them chuckling near silently. "What do we do now?" she asked. "Do we just...continue exploring? Where do you want to explore next?"
