Okay good, it had taken its giant blue tongue off of him. But now it had a giant pink eye locked into position above his tiny prone body. Tuck couldn’t help but show fear in this situation. This Gembound was just way too big to care about looking tough. He shook visibly, teeth chattering, as the creature continued to stare at him… And then the Gembound’s words finally got through to him. “Protector of Eridanus,” the marmoset repeated weakly. “Not gonna eat… Oh. O-okay. G-g-good!” Tuck was still very, very shaken up about the whole thing, though, and didn’t exactly trust this gigantic furry beast.

“Th-then… y-you’ll l-let me up, right? If… if you’re not g-gonna eat me?” Gods, he just couldn’t get his act together! His was shaking so hard with fear that he couldn’t talk without stuttering. He was making a huge fool out of himself, but all he cared about was getting away!

The dragon's head nodded faintly, agreeing and letting the tiny primate know that he was correct. The poor creature just seemed so terrified that he was starting to feel bad for him. "Of course... You are free to go whenever you please." Indeed he didn't want to hold him hostage, he didn't want to hold him at all. So, to seem like he was following through with his actions the dragon lifted his head, arching his neck high above his paw and subsequently the tiny creature.

If the primate wanted to go then he was free to. The dragon had just wanted to know who was doing the screaming and hollering so that he could help.

The second the giant Gembound told him he was free to go, Tuck scrambled back to his paws and dashed away, up the nearest tree. Being up here would normally make him feel much safer, but considering he’d just fallen out of a tree, he wasn’t feeling particularly at ease up here on this branch. Besides, the white furry creature could still see him easily, as he wasn’t very high up in the air yet. And he was letting his fear rule over him again, which didn’t make him feel very good about himself. If the Gembound had wanted to eat him, he probably would have done it by now — and what would someone so big gain from eating someone as small as Tuck, anyways?

Feeling a bit more confident, Tuck looked the much larger male in the eye. “What are you?” he asked, forcing his voice to remain even and not to tremble in terror. He needed to prove that even something as large as this wouldn’t scare him away. He could face anything!

The dragon's head remained arched high above his paws but his eyes followed the movements of the itty-bitty creature as he made his way towards a nearby tree and scurried up. With the gembound properly placed on his branch Baratheon was about to continue on his way but the voice, less frightened than before, spoke out to him again.

The dragon dragon turned his head slightly just so that he could peer at the marmoset with one large eye. The question was one that he was used to but even to this day still caused him amusement. "I am a dragon. One of the very few that roam these caves." His rumbling voice held a slight tone of amusement. "My name is Baratheon... Who are you?" He questioned. His voice was low as he was honestly afraid to speak too loudly and inadvertently hurt the creature in some way.

A dragon, huh? Interesting. Tuck had no idea what a dragon was — there was no instinct that told him what this creature might be even related to. It had claws and teeth and a snout like maybe a crocodile but the rest of the body was all wrong, and it was covered in fur, and it had wings like a bat. Tuck logged away the word dragon for later in case he ever encountered any others who called themselves that.

Oh, now this… Baratheon was asking him who he was. “I’m Tuck — well… Tukluk. But just call me Tuck. I live here.” The marmoset huffed indignantly. “And I was eating before you knocked me out of my tree!” It probably wasn’t a good idea to piss off something this big, but Tuck was still a cycle old and wasn’t exactly Mr. Nice Guy to begin with — or very smart, either. He’d take his chances. If push came to shove he could just leap away fifteen feet at a time and then hide somewhere since he was so tiny.

Tukluk, or Tuck, the name seemed to fit the tiny creature. "A pleasure." He rumbled at the introduction. The marmoset when on to say that he'd interrupted his meal, at which the dragon thought amusing. Not the fact that he'd ruined the gembound's dinner but the sound of such a high-pitched voice sounding so indignant. The dragon managed to refrain from laughing but it could be implied from his tone that he thought the whole thing funny. "My apologies, Tuck, allow me to make up for it." With that he turned his attention to the ground. He used one claw to poke a small hole into the earth and after focusing on his magic something began to sprout.

A large pumpkin finally grew in a matter of seconds, it was a beefy thing and easily as large as one of the dragon's paws. Baratheon honestly felt quite impressed with this one! He lowered his head and easily put his mouth around it so that he could break it into pieces. Afterwards, he grabbed up one mangled slice of the pumpkin and placed it on the marmoset's branch. "Does that adequately make up for me interrupting your meal?" He pulled his head back and ran his tongue around his mouth, cleaning pumpkin residue from the white fur around his maw.

… Well. That little bit of indignation ended up paying off — much to Tuck’s surprise. Honestly, he expected the dragon to bitch-slap him halfway across Eridanus, but that didn’t happen at all. Instead, the dragon cast some kind of spell and — HOLY SHIT THAT’S A HUGE-ASS PUMPKIN. Tuck stared wide-eyed at the pumpkin which had grown in the span of ten seconds, and was now the size of one of Baratheon’s paws. His mouth even dropped open a little. “Man, I wanna learn how to do that spell!” he said excitedly. “I’d never run outta food! Of course… I can already grow food out of my own body… but nothing that big!”

Tuck watched the dragon crack the giant pumpkin into multiple smaller pieces and then place a rather large piece in front of him. ’Does that adequately make up for me interrupting your meal?’ the dragon asked, and the marmoset stared at him for a few seconds. “Yeah!” he replied excitedly before literally shoving his face into the slice of pumpkin and chowing down. Soon he had orange all over him, but he didn’t care. He’d never had pumpkin before and it was delicious! “Thanks,” he said happily, pulling his face out of the slice for a moment, mouth full of food.

The dragon let out a chuckle at the tiny primate's obvious adoration at his spell. "Maybe you shall learn it one day. It was gifted to me by an ancient of this cave." At least that's what he thought. During the time he learned it he was not really in his right mind. He could clearly remember his daughter at that time and his friend Macawi and getting the spell that strange day... but who's to say his mind wasn't playing tricks on him?

He watched the tiny creature tuck into his slice of pumpkin. "No problem. The spell usually goes to waste for me... Pumpkin is okay but I prefer hunting." If he ever had trouble hunting -pfft, as if-- then he could always use the pumpkin spell to feed himself but the taste of those strange things could never compare to fresh meat... and... and blood.

He shook his head. Couldn't think about that. "Eat as much as you want. Save it for later, invite your friends, I don't mind." Because if he didn't eat it then all of the leftovers would go to waste. With that, the dragon started to continue onwards, wings flexing as he prepared for what was up ahead. He couldn't wait to get into the "sky" of Eridanus.

Tuck was too busy chowing down on his pumpkin slice to pay much attention to whatever Baratheon was saying, but he did notice when the dragon seemed to turn away from him and the tree and flex his wings, as if he were about to take flight. “Oh, are you leaving?” the marmoset asked, feeling, admittedly, a little disappointed. After a very rough start to their acquaintanceship, what with Tuck falling to the ground pretty hard and then thinking Baratheon was gonna eat him, he had to admit that now he actually kinda liked the big fluffy Gembound. He stared rather sadly after the creature, wondering if they’d meet again.

“I wish I could fly like you,” he said softly, staring in awe and wonder at Baratheon’s huge wings. This was the second time in his short life in which he’d said that. The thought of being able to fly had always fascinated him. He imagined soaring over the heads of everyone else, able to explore places he wouldn’t be able to reach otherwise. He sighed wistfully.

The primate's words caused him to pause, turning to look back towards the creature's tree. "I am." He answered simply. He found no reason to stick around, he'd already delayed his flight for too long... but he did notice the way the creature seemed to look sadly at him. The expression made him feel sympathy for the little one, so much so that he didn't move on and stood with one foot raised mid-step while he seemed to be mulling something over.

It was the last soft words that finally made up the decision for him. He tilted his head to the side, rumbled thoughtfully and said, "Would you like to come with me? I was going on a routine flight and I wouldn't mind the company." Plus, it would give the little creature a chance to see what it was like to fly.
