Aaliyah was relieved when Imperia didn't punish her. Still, she hoped her spell would work this time. She couldnt wait to figure out what it was! She watched them as they tried their spell. When their paws began to burn, her eyes widened. Was her spell like that? She hoped not! She didn't want to get burned. Either way, it was still cool that they all had spells.

She closed her eyes and tried again, hoping with all her might that it would work. Within no time at all, she began to feel something in her stomach. She quickly opened her mouth and was surprised to see a wave of heat come out. When she finished exhaling, she looked up at Imperia, her eyes widened in wonder and excitement. "I did it!"

So she did have fire magic. Good.

"Good job. Now I'll tell you all of the ways you can use your magic to your advantage while fighting. I have been in quite a few battles, and have used my magic in all of them. Now, I have not won every battle. That is because I had little training. With me training you, you will never fail your battles. I will be alongside you in battles, and together, we will be unstoppable!" Imperia stood up, their eyes shining. They looked down at Aaliyah. "Everyone will fear us."

When Imperia said good job, Aaliyah grinned. It was only two simple words, but to her it meant everything. They had praised her! She had done a good job! She suddenly found herself craving to hear those words again, to hear that slight tone of approval in their voice. When they continued speaking, she found herself nodding at every word. Maybe if she won every battle, Imperia would care about her! They'd like her!

At their last words, Aaliyah was completely on board. How great would it be to have everyone fear her? Imperia would definitely like her then!

"Alright. I tend to rely on my strength when battling. My magic is just a sort of backup, used to make my attacks hurt more. If you so choose, you can rely on your magic. It may not be best to do so, but it can certainly help a lot. Burning someone should hurt more than just scratching or biting them." Imperia murmured.

"I won't make you choose right away. I will train you in both, so that you can decide which you want to use the most when the time comes." They glanced down at Aaliyah. "We will start with your magic. I want you to try your spell again, see if you can make it even better. Remember to take a deep breath so it can be as long as possible."

Aaliyah nodded as Imperia spoke. Using her magic most of the time seemed fun! She loved her magic. It kind of hurt, but maybe she'd get used to it! Maybe if she trained a lot, she would never fail! Then everyone would truly fear her and Imperia! Her eyes shined at the thought. She'd train. She'd train a lot.

When the other told her to try her magic again, she nodded once more. She had this. She totally had this. She just had to not fail and then Imperia would praise her again! She purred at the thought. And if she failed...Well, she would have to hope they wont punish her.

She took a deep breath and then let it all out. She made sure not to point it at Imperia. That might make them punish her! When she exhaled, the blast of heat flew through the air. She let out a small yip of joy. She had done It again! Would Imperia praise her?

When Aaliyah succeeded again, Imperia nodded but said nothing. They watched her for a moment. She was clearly excited about all of this. She'd have to control that before she got too excited. Still, it was nice to see that she was eager to do all of this. She was also eager to please Imperia. They could tell she wanted her praise.

Well. They'd have to work harder than that.

"Alright. One day, you should have more spells than that. But for now, you have just the one. And we can work with that for now." Imperia stood up. "I have one other spell you haven't seen yet. Watch."

Soon, Imperia's fur began to burn. The stench of burning flesh smelled like the best thing to them, even though it was their own fur. "This one can be great if someone is attacking you. If they're cling onto you, you can use this to hurt them. It hurts me, yes, but I've grown used to it."

"Listen to me."

When she didn't get the praise she so desperately craved, Aaliyah deflated a little. Oh. Why didn't Imperia praise her? Would she have to work harder? She'd work as hard as possible! When they told her to watch, she looked over at Imperia, excited to see their spell.

When the smell of burning flesh caught her nose, she immediately wrinkled it. It was absolutely disgusting! And yet it didnt deter Imperia one bit. Aaliyah wanted to be like that! She'd use all of the fire spells and be completely used to it! "Teach me how to do that! Teach me!" she begged.

Imperia grunted. "You do not beg. I never want to hear you beg. You got that?" Their tail flicked. "And spells must be learned on your own. One day, you shall have this spell, as well as many others. For now, you will just have to rely on what you know." They began to circle Aaliyah.

"Now, if you want others to fear you, you're going to have to look the part. You are young now and therefore do not look intimidating. But when you have grown, with my help, you will look very intimidating. You will make all who see you cower before you! Together, we will make everyone cower before us! Everyone will fear us. Everyone will fear you." they whispered in her ear.

"Listen to me."

Aaliyah lowered her ears when Imperia told her not to beg. "S-sorry," she murmured. As they continued to speak, her eyes began to shine. She would look intimidating! Everyone would fear her! She couldnt wait for that to happen. Everyone would dread the day they came across Imperia and her!

"How will you make me look intimidating?" she asked, staring up at Imperia with shining eyes.

Imperia grinned, their claws out. "It's a very simple process, really. You're already partially intimidating." They chuckled. "You may be young now, but one day, you will be strong and intimidating. And one thing that will help..." They swiped at Aaliyah, claws digging in along their side, making a scar that led from her right shoulder down to her flank. It began to bleed slightly, and seemed to be deep enough to make a scar.

"Scars."
