A black tongue flickered from the diamond chrysalis, catching the scent of everything that surrounded it. Dusky scales could be seen slowly sliding from within as the newborn Gembound adjusted himself. It took what seemed like an eternity to break free from his diamond chrysalis using nothing but his fang made of same material. Now, he was exhausted, and his gem hurt, but the pain was ebbing away. Having colorless walls, the young rattlesnake could see everything through a distorted view since his eyes were formed, but now having broken free, he could see that everything was clearer, and much more beautiful.

Although he felt like he could rest in his chrysalis forever, hunger drove him to explore the world beyond. Forcing his sore muscles to work, he squeezed his head through the tiny opening and his slender body followed through, spilling onto the floor. The little rattlesnake crept slowly over his new terrain. Even though the ground felt chilled, he admired the texture under his belly scales. The snake flicked his tongue again, scanning for any signs what would likely fill his empty stomach.

He though he felt scurrying to his side, whatever it was, it tasted like food on his tongue. he crept towards the source, lapping the air, occasionally to locate this creature. The tiny rodent came into view from behind a rock. He could feel its body heat waft through his pits. He knew he had to be stealthy if he wanted to catch it.

The young rattlesnake decided slither on a slope to approach it from behind, which turned out to be a big mistake as the gravel underneath his belly gave way. He shrieked in surprise as his body tumbled clumsily down the slope. His bottom scales tried to grasp at the ground to slow his decent but to no avail. The mouse turned out at the noise and squeaked in terror as it saw the snake roll towards it. It quickly scrambled away, running for its life and possible alerting other mice around. The newborn Gembound slid to a stop when he reached the bottom and laid there, a little crestfallen. Slightly annoyed he blew up a cloud of dust in front of him with a sour huff as he watched his prey scurry out of sight.

rui blindly made his way through orion, ears flapping towards any sound he could pick up in order to navigate his way out of here. the bright lights were horrid on his young, nocturnal eyes, and as nice as it was to meet that monkey he didn't think it would be safe to assume all other creatures here would have the decency not to take advantage of his temporary blindness!

it was then he heard a tiny screech--that he recognized as a mouse! and his ears and nose instinctually went on full attention. he couldn't smell any blood, but it was definitely afraid. had something scared it? oh boy, he didn't want to be eaten!

ducking into a crouch, rui let energy bubble in his head, feeling it run through the rest of his body like a sheet as he was shrouded in shadow. it wouldn't do much good for a creature who didn't rely mainly on sight, but it would make sure he visibly blended in with the shadowy ground of orion.

with that in mind, rui raised his head a bit, tipping it back and forth in an effort to listen better for whatever had frightened that mouse. he sniffed around dimly, but couldn't make out the sounds. he could make out the dissipating scent of mice in the area, though--as much as rui wanted to speak up and simply ask who was there, he thought it not such a great idea, if the creature was that big.

peeling an eye open, he found it considerably easier to see with the shadows over his eyes like this--as long as he kept his gaze low. he found he'd stumbled upon a big, towering pile of stones somehow... and he had the desperate urge to climb it! rui settled onto his haunches--he was awfully close to the thing, actually, it was a surprise he'd yet bumped into it--and mapped out a path to get to the top, idly, without noticing the newly emerged gembound only a few feet away from him in his concentration. his eyes were still quite lidded, after all, and so his vision was limited.

The little rattlesnake lifted his head when he felt the paw steps of something bigger than he was, much bigger. He slid his tongue out in hopes to for it to tell him what this thing was. Still new to the world, the scent tasted unfamiliar and alien. It smelled vastly different than the mouse he tried to catch. But whatever it was it felt warm blooded, he could practically see its body heat, and it was getting closer. Before he could have time to react this creature was already up on him. The little snake drew himself in so it wouldn't step on him, or at least he hoped it wasn't trying too. That would hurt, a lot. He felt nervous being in presence of this warm blooded animal, despite the fact that it did not seem to notice him. Then, he his black and white tail did something it had never done in the chrysalis, it rattled. A soft buzz emitted from the little bulb on the tip as his tail shook. He did not tell it do this! His own tail had betrayed his position, but maybe this was a good a thing, the creature wouldn't step on him if he knew where he was.

Since the creature probably heard the rattling, he might as well make himself known. The young rattlesnake lifted more of himself off the ground and attempted to communicate with the other Gembound. He didn't know how exactly, but he thought he'd wing it. He open his mouth but nothing but air came out, forming a hiss. The little snake cringed, because that probably sent the wrong message. Unable to find his voice, he opted to rattle louder.

Rinaotei has been going to the Tunnel M for some quite time now, due to the nice snow it has, blends in well with her Spells after all, she also liked the pristine and fluffiness of it. But she went and made the climb up the ice wall with no issues this time, proceeding to her new destination; Orion. She has visited this place before, when she went to see it out of simple curiosity of it, with the other wolf Kin-Kin tagging along, but... She doesn't really recall what happened when she got there... Was she so enamoured by her adventuring that things just slipped her own mind? No... She was sure that she could at least have memories of seeing this place, but honestly the first encounter that she had with Kin-Kin felt like a dream, with the encounter they had in Tunnel M the part of it, she can remember very well, while the entering to Orion was the part of the dream that she couldn't remember at all. But she knows it couldn't have been a dream, Rinaotei encountered Kin-Kin again in Pisces and she knows that was reality, and the other wolf recognized her too so she was sure it was real for the first encounter to happen.

Rinaotei takes a slow, deep, and calm breath as she enters this place for the second time... Or so she thinks is the second time, she's unsure at this point, but she needs to prepare in case something had happened to her the first time that caused her to forget. Looking up, she sees the ceiling of it was sheathed with what appears to be stars, although they honestly look too sloppy to be legitimate stars, when she squints at them and she sees that is the case since they are nothing more than crystals that are stuck on the ceiling. While they do look nice in a way, she doesn't know why, but the factor that isn't the real thing leaves her a little unimpressed, a part of herself likes the lanterns that are in these caves a little more actually, not to add she isn't so sure what to think of the carrion she occasionally sees... Such wastefulness...

Going on a little more, wishing for a better view to see if anything is out of the ordinary, choosing to go up some stairs that she detected and proceeds trudge up them. Since these are probably the most stairs, she has ever used it eventually started to seem like to her that she was walking for such a long while, even though she has only made it up fifteen stairs, from feeling like it's taking too long she starts to run up them in her hastiness to get this whole thing over with quicker. Until she reached to the top and lay down on the platform that's at the peak of these stairs.

Hearing some rattling noise that is not too far from here, curiosity piqued, she stood up to make her way closer to the source of the noise, being a little wary though in case of being attacked. This wariness is used to observe in her surroundings instead of letting it plague her head too much, and so she pertains her natural calmness even when she's on the lookout. Finding two young Gembounds nearby, the noise coming from one of them, slowly she goes to make her way closer to the two to see what's happening... Oh dear... What's happening? They are fighting? She hopes not... No need for violence. In case if that's what it was she walks over to the two young ones herself to see and lies down next to them to see what's happening, not to add standing over them may scare them so she keeps her face a bit distant from them as well, her expression still completely calm so she generally looks really relaxed, hopefully does not come across as threatening at all.
