Its tiny paws tapped against rocks and sank into moss as the little creature made its way forwards. It had been weaving its way through tunnels and down huge corridors since the very moment of its birth. The bedraggled pup, at only 10 centimetres tall, bald as a biscuit with only a few ruffled patches of hair, seemed unequipped to make its way in the caves. Enormous pointed ears pricked up and bright crimson eyes staring bug-eyed, the pup wondered if anyone was around other than those it'd met upon its birth. Those it had met... the ones which had triggered its birth. It felt it owed them a favour, for that.
Gabriel looked around, taking in the sights that greeted him in this strange room. He could sense a strong presence of magic here, that feeling which he'd become so familar with as of late. As he wandered, the pup had been casting his senses outward, figuring out more than just his immediate surroundings... and he'd learned that there were many others here. The tiny pup had learned that the thousands of tiny souls he'd sought whilst still nursing in his chrysalis were everywhere, invisible to the naked eye but omnipresent nontheless.
And the larger creatures that roamed here intrigued it all the more. It didn't know
exactly how many there were or what their individual strengths were, but it fully planned to find out. It would take time, but it would come to know everything these caves had to offer.
Right now, the pup wanted to figure out if there was anyone close by. Its focus right now was in the now, to make its future ever brighter. Sucking in his breath, the pup focused on the ground at his paws, his large ears standing upright. But to his frustration, no surge of power greeted him. Even surrounded by magic, it needed practice. But that would come in time, it assumed. It was just frustrating being unable to calculate exactly what it was to do and when.
That being said, the pup certainly had
verve when it came to these things, that was to say the least. It was always learning, always. Everything it saw was shuffled carefully to the back of its mind for safekeeping.
