Come on out of your dreams

Everything seemed to gradually shift as he picked through each voice and went through every scent that began to flood. The pup had lain down for the meantime with limbs tucked close and holding awareness for all in which surrounded. There was not a thought on what could be issued for this matter as he felt to be the smallest out of those around here. With that, he would let it hang while keeping low in allowing the bigger ones to understand this mystery. Though perhaps it would not prove to be any fun in staying quiet about it. Oh no, where was the joy in that? Humming, neck suddenly snapped over when he heard his name from another. It was someone familiar to him which stretched a small smile across his face as rump wiggled around. "Sepy!" He went on to exclaim. At least there was one he could turn to in all this uncertainty.

Before little limbs could pull him up, Kyorai felt an unknown breeze that was not enough to fully knock him over, but body offered to remain down for the second it came. Then, an apology was heard in causing him to tilt his head at the direction it sounded from. Shaking his head, he got up and quickly made his way over to Septiezal, seating himself next to the reptile once he bumped into them. A confused gaze placed itself on his acquaintance as the pup tried to figure out answers to theirs (and practically everyone's) questions. However, it was hard to reply to something that mind also inquired about. "I don't know; sounds like nonsense to me. It's hard to understand anything from them." He huffed, still unsure as to what the voices were saying and a bit down on not being able to understand them. Though now that he was with someone he could fall back on, mind was curious on whether little voice could draw one of the voices' attention.

It started with a few small barks and then a high pitched howl.

Kin-Kin certainly hadn't been expecting this many Gembounds to enter and she might have been flattered if it weren't clear that the voices were the source of all this intrigue. She even recognized one of them, a red wolf that whilst younger, was already taller than herself. A wry smirk came over her face and she began to approach... only to hear a clatter... and suddenly Xireidi, or 'fluffy' as she'd once called him was bowling towards her.

"Yo, watch where ya-!"

Her ears shot upright and she stumbled backwards, but moments later the two wolves collided anyway, flinging Kin-Kin onto her back. A muffled yelp escaped her moments later to be replaced by a growl as she puffed out her fur and struggled regain her dignity.

Her ears were flattened and cape draped around her neck but she tried to look beautiful anyway, trying to cover up her ruffled and indignant look with ribbons of light. All attention would be drawn to their collision anyway, so of course this would be the way to go. It might even draw the attention of the voices. But at this point, was that even a good idea? A rock hadn't come flying from nowhere...

...It seemed her hesitation was enough to stop the magic in its tracks. Whether she wanted it to or not, now she just stood looking disheartenedly at Xireidi, her fur bedraggled but still holding a steady shimmer. She twitched her shoulders and gave herself a slight shake, trying to at least cover herself with her cape.

Annoyed huffs of air emerged from her nostrils. Of all the times for this to happen, it had to be now, in front of all these other Gembounds.

Oh my God, why were they throwing rocks now? Who the hell were these Gembounds? Were they even… Gembounds? Tuck shuddered at the thought that there could be creatures in the Caves who weren’t Gembounds. Nah, that was impossible. But the spooky echo-y voices and then the rock that had nearly crushed one of his friends made everything about this really eerie. Still, Tuck decided to be a complete idiot and up-close and personal with… whoever was chucking rocks at the Gembounds down here. After he stopped ducking behind Garmer for protection against rock shrapnel, and checking to make sure that his kyte was okay, he did the really dumb thing and hopped right over to the wall where everyone now knew the ledge was and started to climb, ignoring everyone else who was here. He was so determined to figure out what was going on now that he kind of forgot that anyone else was in the tunnel with him…

Sure, he’d probably get crushed to death by another rock DON’T DO IT MADI I WILL CRI HE IS MY BABY, but who cared? Obviously Tuck didn’t or else he wouldn’t be so stupid. Right? Well, we’ll just see how this goes…

As time passed, the noises only seemed to have grown louder. They sounded as if they were everywhere. Nkosana watched as a red wolf walked too close, and was promptly almost hit by a rock. He stifled a laughter as the wolf tried to avoid it, only causing more trouble for himself. He thought about saying something, but soon thought against it. He lowered his ears as someone else howled. Grumbling, he continued to listen to the voices. He could see a tiny spot, perhaps another gembound, trying to climb up.

He decided to try and figure out how many voices there were. He couldn't do anything to get their attention, so he pricked his ears and leaned forward, listening intently. But try as he might, he just couldn't make out the number of voices. With a sight, he stopped listening to intently and sat down, his fluffy tail wrapped around his paws.

A sharp vibration echoed through his scales, cause him to lurched his head back defensively with a hiss. The serpent pinpointed the cause of the disturbance. A rock had been thrown. Septiezal started to get the feeling that these weren't Echoing Grays.

"Hey!" He hissed at the unseen voices. "Quite throwing rocks you could really hurt someone!"

Septiezal's attention was pulled when something soft bumped into him. He snapped his head around, letting out a soft hiss, but it was just Kyorai. Septiezal softened his stance and listened to the young Gembound. So, it wasn't just his lack of ears, Kyorai could not even understand them. The serpent nodded at him. "Watch out, they're throwing rocks." He warned. Septiezal was starting to suspect that the pup's vision wasn't as keen as it could be, but he wasn't quite sure yet. He'd just hate to see Kyorai get hurt by a rock. The serpent wouldn't openly admit it now, but the little pup was starting to grow on him.

The shouts of the Gembounds below had gone completely ignored; rather, the voices of the strangers escalated, an argument mounting, turning the air tense. They hadn't noticed any other attempts to grab their attention, although the suddenly sharp, piercing barks from Kyorai had caused one of them to begin shouting. "OI! SHUT YA TRAP YA MUTT I AIN'T DONE!"

Another voice, affronted by the shouting, growled out. "That weren't me you blind ass!"

"You're the blind ass! I can't tell the difference between you yappin' and you howlin' cos your wailin' all sounds the same!"

"Then you're a deaf ass!" The second voice barked, and then sputtered a loud, hysterical, wheezy laugh.

They didn't care about the shouting of the Gembounds below. They could have gone on arguing until one of them spotted the little marmoset suddenly poking his head up over the edge.

"Hey, guys! I don't think we're alone."

The three of them simultaneously swung their heads around to look, albeit in a few different directions before their eyes finally located the monkey. It would be Tukluk to identify the three creatures that had emerged from their chrysali into an immediate argument.

They stared in stunned silence, unable to make sense of the tiny creature on the ledge. Then the tall bird shuffled closer, craning his neck to peer over the edge. As he spotted the rest of them, he squawked and fumbled backwards, rustling his wings with alarm. "Beasts! At arms, boys!" He shrieked and dove back over the ledge, landing just barely on his massive feet. "Stay back! I'm an intact hound with teeth in this beak!" The bird clacked his beak and flapped his wings at what he thought was one of the Gembounds, only in his blurry, hazy sight, a rock sure did look a lot like another animal.

"Jireedon you idiot!" The canine scowled, shuffling over to the edge next to the marmoset. Did the bird really expect to fight off a bunch of beasts on his own? He certainly wasn't going to help - after all, he was the blind one.

The fetal creature, with a back of thin, downy brown hairs, wriggled over to the edge on the other side of the marmoset and peered down at the gathering. Of his companions, he had the best sight, though his eyes were still far under developed. "You're attacking a rock..." He chattered anxiously.

With a shrill krak, the bird suddenly froze and straightened up, finally locating the mass of Gembounds before him. Ah, yes. It would help if he actually hit them, not the rock. He immediately shifted back into the defensive, staring with cold, analytical, and half-blind eyes.

Kin-Kin was still staring accusingly at Xireidi when suddenly the voices began to come closer. Suddenly then, her focus shifted from the other red wolf and onto the ledge... she caught sight of eyes peering down at them briefly, before the arguing continued. From their words, it was apparent that the strange creatures... whoever they were... were not at all friendly. It was just lucky that one demonstrated this on a rock rather than on their faces. Beneath her cape, Kin-Kin's hackles rose but she covered it up with a snort of laughter. this was gonna be a breeze! She could tend to her fur later, for now, there were more important things to deal with... in style, of course.

"After that show, you're still gonna go for us? it'd be less humiliating to slink away with your tail between ya legs. Hah!" she shot the taunt up towards the ledge, knowing that it was gonna be the last time she got to speak for a while.

Kin-Kin stretched out one of her forelegs in front of her, placing her muzzle into the crystal spike and drawing her sword out of its sheath. Its heavy weight disappeared from her limb and instead became one with her muzzle. She was glad that she'd created this... usually inconvenient... blade. This was her first chance to test it out in a real fight!

Though she might have been jumping to conclusions rather fast, Kin-Kin could see that they wanted a fight. As pathetic as their first attempt had been, she couldn't let them make the first move. It was just... getting up there...

It was rather high up, and she was no monkey like the little squirt that had skittered up there first. She'd have to be crafty... finding her way up using magic. As magical champion, what else would she use?

of course...

Kin-Kin placed her paws firmly against the ground and triumphantly reached into her gem, looking for the power that she'd used to make her blade. She could make a pathway, some ledge that the grounded beasts could use to reach their assailants... Excitement fizzled inside her, and her heart pounded with adrenaline. However, it seemed like it simply wasn't to be. For the first time in what seemed like forever, the magic simply seemed just out of her grasp.

Excitement steadily bubbled into frustration...

She must have gotten too worked up.

After his unintentional run-in with Kin-Kin Xireidi scrambled back onto his feet and lowered his head. His apologetic gaze darted back and forth between the wolf before him and the ledge above, not sure which he should be more scared of at the moment. This didn't last long though before Tukluk's ascent drew the attention of the strangers and indirectly brought one crashing down to their level.

The great bird may have chose a poor target, but it attacked with a ferocity that was not to be dismissed. He'd have to apologize later; right now there was a real situation at hand!

Xireidi dashed into position between the bird and some of the smaller members of the gathering, standing tall and ready to lunge into a counterattack if necessary.

"We have not come to cause harm, however if you persist in your displays of aggression we will have no choice but to fight back." he called forth with a low and confident voice. His eye was affixed to the beast in front of him but his ears were focused on the unknown others above. Tukluk was out of reach and on his own but the wolf could at least keep an ear out for more rocks.

Ooookay, welp! That hadn’t exactly gone… as Tuck had planned. Not that he had planned anything, but… Well, what was going on? Tuck shrieked and pressed his body tightly to the cliff he clung to, trying to avoid being slammed into by the bird who seemed to have accidentally fallen off of the ledge. The blue bird whooshed past him and landed on his feet on the ground, and Tuck quickly looked down at him, and then glanced back at the other two, still up in their place on the ledge. He looked at them both cautiously, wondering where to go now. Currently, it seemed his safest place was right where he was, holding onto the side of the cliff. The bird seemed to want a fight, which Tuck thought was ridiculous. Having matured a bit in the last five cycles, he now knew that immediately fighting wasn’t always the best option.

“Guys… Uhh… Guys!” he called, trying to talk to both the mysterious Gembounds up on the ledge, and his friends down below — as well as the crazy bird. “Guys, why are we all immediately trying to fight? Can’t we just chill out for a second?”

Above him, Garmer continued to circle, feeling too unsafe to land anywhere. But he let out a roar, trying to catch everyone’s attention and take it off of each other and the possible fight.

This was not going well. Already. Sigh.

There was a sudden stir of movement in the air as the blue creature descended . It happened so fast and sudden, it made Septiezal's heart leap, awaking a instinctual aggression within him to defend. the snake did not know where it came from, or who it was aiming for, but one thing was for sure, it looked like it wanted trouble. He immediately coiled into a tight striking posture and felt his bile began to heat up in preparation from an attack. Then, the avian creature unleashed its fury on its victim.

A rock.

Septiezal flicked his tongue in confusion as he watched the.. odd display of aggression. He noticed the gorgeous, caped, red wolf when she made her bold taunt. He shifted a little away from her when he saw the magnificent blade she drew. Her body language seemed to over flow with annoying confidence. It briefly reminded him of another canine he had the displeasure of meeting cycles ago. She seemed to be enjoying herself, until whatever spell she tried to conjure failed.

The other red wolf, the male with the black opal in his right eye, stepped in from of them, declared they would attacked if provoked. Septiezal couldn't help but agree with his noble words, but he had the feeling that this blue avian wouldn't be too much of a threat. Matter of fact, if there was away to avoid any unnecessary confrontation, Septiezal would rather slither down that path. Tukluk pretty much said what he was thinking before he could speak up. He found himself supporting the monkey. He thought of ways to defuse the situation. Septiezal landed on the decision to attempt to console the bird. He had never done such a thing before, but in his mind, it could help the group avoid some injuries.

"Tuck's right." He rasped. he did not know if anyone heard the marmoset, but he would try to repeat what he said. "Let's not make any rash decisions." Septiezal hoped the action he was about to take wasn't a "rash decision".

The large serpent slithered next to the male red wolf and coiled his mass. he lifted his head high so that he might seem equal to the bird and wolf. "Disregard her." He hissed, motioning his snout to the she-wolf. "We did not come to harm you." The snake flicked his tongue to taste the bird's scent. "We were merely jussst... curiousss."
