The young pup seemed to find his name amusing or perhaps he'd simply thought of something funny, he couldn't ever be sure with the young ones. Regardless, he'd much rather have a happy pup than one that was too terrified to speak so he was glad that the boy was loosening up to laugh. "A pleasure to meet you, Kyorai." The young canine had a bit of an accent, one that he'd never heard before but found to be unique.

Suddenly a question came from the tiny male. Fire magic? He'd never once been able to summon even a spark of flames but he'd never had a want or reason to. Not when he had others things that he could do. The dragon's white head shook. "No. My magic is Energy based." He was certain that the pup wouldn't know what "energy" based magic was so he lifted his head up and high and said, "Observe." With that he turned slowly, careful to not step or hit the pup with a wildly swinging tail or wings. He stopped moving when he fixed a large chunk of ice on the ground with his pink stare. That would do just fine.

The dragon inhaled, breathing deeply in through his mouth as he tried to tap into the magic that he hadn't used for cycles. Then, once enough of the magic had billowed up inside of him the dragon opened his mouth and unleashed an invisible but powerful shockwave of magic towards the ice chunk. The ice broke apart into a thousand shimmering pieces and an earsplitting crack.

Pleased with himself, the dragon looked back at Kyorai with a grin on his massive maw. "I used to possess more spells but since re-crystallization they've fallen dormant." All except his native one, Dispel. His tried and true attack.

Come on out of your dreams

Brows furrowed and head tilted when they told of a different element. Hm, so there seemed to be other things outside of fire—more so, all the basic elements. "There is more than just fire?" He questioned from wonder, single brow raising this time. It was quite the stretch to think they wielded such hot substance when they did not look the part. Not to say one did needed to wear what was right for it; surprises were abound. A note left his throat as he tried to figure what one could do with "energy". Mind had an understanding for the help said matter did provide, but how could it meld into something magical? Maw opened to utter out another query, but nothing came forth as the dragon gave a demand. Observe. Eyes narrowed at what they were attempting to show, instinctively backing away from whatever it may turn out to be.

Large ears pulled back when he saw Baratheon inhale, figuring they were perhaps putting up some concentration. As a few seconds passed without nothing, he gave a small huff in disbelief in whether there was really anything to show. Though such feeling was shoved far under once a loud sound overfilled the tunnel. A yelp came from him with body immediately cowering down. The sound of small pieces soon reached him, having him somewhat curious on what did happen. After everything had settled, gaze finally found their way back onto company. Nerves were still shaken up by the sudden loudness and fur standing on end, but he would surely calm down soon. "Wh-wh-whoa." He stuttered, expression mixed with fascination and fear. Well, now he knew the power of energy.

As hesitant as they were, ears went forward as the dragon spoke again, gradually filling the pup with confusion. "Sp-sp-spells? Re-cry-crystallization?" He said with an unsteady tongue, tilting his head. Looking beside him, he noticed some pieces of ice, feeling obligated to do something with them. Shakily, Kyorai took the pieces and piled them. Multi-hued eyes looked over at Baratheon again, seemingly expecting something from them—more so, awaiting for their words.

The young gemling seemed at a loss with all the words he was throwing at him. No matter, he could explain it all and more if the pup so wished. He found it amusing to sit and while away the hours by spinning tales and explaining things. Not only was it fun for him but he was giving information to those that wanted it so it was beneficial for both parties. "There is much more than just fire, young one. To name a few types of magick there is that of the plant variety, water, fungi, arcane, and energy as you just saw." That was only just scratching the surface, he was certain there was magic out there that he had yet to see.

He moved on then to the next set of questions but he felt as if he might be answering for a while so, very carefully as not to accidentally smush Kyorai, he folded his legs beneath him and lay down with his tail thrumming a slow percussive rhythm on the ground behind him. "Spells, yes. A spell is the way you manifest your magic. The blast of energy I just showed you was a type of spell called Dispel. I have others..." He lifted a claw then and pointed it at the pile of ice crystals that the pup made and very slowly they began to turn from ice to steam as he heated the particles within by use of his magic. The gaseous water curled upwards towards the ceiling and within moments the tiny ice tower was no more. "That, is but another energy spell." One that gave him minor control over ice and water, or perhaps other things that he hadn't even tried to heat or freeze yet.

He moved on then, straight to the second question. "Re-crystallization is a way that our gems grow to make a cocoon to let us heal, like the one you hatched from. The difference is that once you have hatched once, if you are severely injured or if something strange happens within the caves, your gem can grow another casing around you and let you sleep while you heal or until conditions in the caves become habitable again." The last time he'd gone in his chrysalis he had not been injured so he could only assume that conditions in the caves had been poor for survival, thus his rhodocrosite had grown to protect him until it was safe to come out again. "Am... Am I going to fast for you, Kyorai?" He was explaining a lot and didn't know if the pup could keep up with all of it, after all he did seem fairly young.

Come on out of your dreams

An awe expression kept to his face while the dragon gave explanations for all he wanted to know. Ah, so there was more than the three common elements. Others outside of fire, water, earth; now, thoughts circled the odd few in which were named, letting his imagination run for what magic was left unmentioned. Though the matter that stood interesting to him was the magic he probably had. Humming, gaze scanned about in attempting to find a non-living target to go about testing the possible magic he could have. However, there was no certain way to execute any type of magic as mind assumed it involved different ways in handling. Attention did not cast out for long as company went to talk about spells. The pup looked confused within duration of the telling, but he understood it quite well. Sometimes mind had a good way in simplifying a topic to allow it to be grasped easily. Picking out words that outed themselves the most, he nodded along as he pieced together words of each statement to something better fitted for developing mind.

Maw put one last ice piece on top the pile before feeling fully satisfied. It was a nice task to do away shaken nerves. Ears propped up when Baratheon spoke that they had other spells at their disposal, immediately flattening ears after to prevent anymore loud noises from catching their vulnerability. "Others?" He hesitantly uttered, gradually feeling warmth coming his way and, oddly, irritating his eyes. Peering over at his ice pile, form backed a short way as he noticed that the pile was steaming. He was not sure whether to run for cover or remain still, but body was confident that no danger was lurking within. The male watched the steam climb its way to the tunnel ceiling, using paw to move some parts of it around. "Amazing." He simply crooned, finally finding fascination for this. Turning ice into water, it was an amazing sight but he could not be sure it was the most wonderful.

Once the steam seemed to settle out, Kyorai crawled near Baratheon and plopped down by their arm. He looked up at them as they explained what re-crystallization was. The pup blankly stared throughout the whole telling, blinking once it was done. Then, a long hum came from him, quickly shaking his head when the dragon asked if things were going a bit fast. "No, you're not! I understood majority of it! It's like being born again, yes?" He said, wagging curly tail lightly to ensure it was fine. From what he got from all of it, mind took it as just the matter of being "born again", but he would ask to see if such was the correct way to compare. Falling onto his side, he continued wondering over the subject of magic.

"Hm, when you were a smaller dragon, how did you find magic?"

He didn't miss the blank look that the pup threw at him during the explanation and for a moment was afraid that it was all going over his head. After a little hum from the puppy that he took to mean that the sweet canine was thinking over all that he had said. Finally he spoke up with his own simplified version of it which the dragon gave a little nod to. "Precisely like that." He really was catching onto everything that was said and it made the dragon happy that his teaching was going somewhere.

Baratheon's eyes blinked as he pondered over the next question that the ashen canine posed. How had he learned magic? A thoughtful rumble bubbled in the dragon's throat as he contemplated the question. How had he? "Hmmm..." He mused to himself as he recalled fuzzy memories of his youth. An image came to him then of his sister, the sheep called Flafe. He didn't think of her as often nowadays but knew in his heart of hearts that if he saw her again then nothing would have changed. He would love her now just as he did then... but that wasn't the reason she popped into his head. He thought of her now because she was part of the memory of when he used his first spell. Prior to hatching he remembered being locked into a confined space, one that had grown far too small and then on instinct he'd breathed an energy blast to free himself. "It was on necessity that I first learned." He said at length. "I could not break open my chrysalis as a babe until I used a blast of energy. I didn't really think about it, it just happened." He looked down at the young pup thoughtfully. If he was so curious on magic it begged the question if he'd discovered it himself yet.

"Tell me, have you discovered what your magic is yet? Your curiosity makes me wonder if you have yet tapped into your own pool of spells." Had the pup learned about himself at all or was that what he was trying to learn now? In all honesty Baratheon was content to sit and answer any and all questions thrown his way, especially if it meant the pup would learn how to perform his own magic.

Come on out of your dreams

A little huff sounded from the pup when told that they first learned theirs from hatching. He wished such was the case for him but, sadly, nothing special appeared before; nothing notable at least. Seeing all others wielded magic had slowly formed a bit a jealousy within the male; however, it did motivate him to try and figure out how to conjure his own. Paw continuously bopped the ground as if looking to cause something—anything would be enough to satisfy him. Narrowing his eyes, he got up on little limbs and wandered over to the boulder he previously hid behind before returning to the dragon with a rock far too large for his maw. Mind would figure this out, one way or the other.

While body plopped down again, as he was about to set down his rocky target, Kyorai peered up at the dragon when he questioned about his magic. Ears flatten, face seemingly irritated by the fact in which he could not say that there was not much success in uncovering his own power. Shaking and nodding his head, he had answered to the question and statement. He finally dropped the rock he had, creating a sound that seemed to say it broke in half. Paw then placed itself upon it, rolling it around as he dug into his thoughts.

After staying quiet for a few seconds, maw opened to verbally answer them. “No, I haven’t. There’s nothing I found that has brought me to discover it yet.” He pouted, letting out a long sigh, then falling over to his side once more. Hmm, maybe he was just too small to have any as of now? But, he has seen someone small draw out magic before. There was not much sense to this the more he thought about it. Though he still carried the motivation to figure his own power. “Can you teach me magic?” Asking, the pup was eager to know whether they could teach him. He asked someone about it once but nothing seemed to come out of it. Mm, perhaps it was possible for one to be without magic. “Can someone be born without magic?” He inquired, gaze finding its way back to the dragon next to him. Expression was hopeful such could not be the case, but anything was possible.

Baratheon watched with some resemblance of curiosity as the pup wandered over to his previous hiding spot and pulled out a rock that was far too large for him. The dragon would have offered to help him with it but it seemed as if he had some sort of stubborn determination, and so he allowed the canine to carry it himself all the way back. He wondered what the stone was for, if anything, or was he just amusing himself in some way? He wasn't left to ponder this for long as Kyorai spoke and answered his questions. Just as he figured, the pup had yet to discover his own magic yet. Ah well, not everyone was born knowing what their magic was. Sometimes it took a bit of practice but he knew that all creatures possessed magic for it had something to do with their stones.

"Of course, I can try to, little one." He knew some things, hopefully those things would help out with the pup learning. "I've never seen anyone that didn't have magic. I believe everyone has magic because of their stones." He looked now but couldn't see a stone on the pup but that didn't mean he didn't have one. All greater gembounds did whether they were internal or external. "Do you know where your stone is?" It was an honest question, some baby gembounds with internal gemstones had no idea where their gems lay but certainly should be able to sense it. "Start there because that's where our reserves of magic lies."

Come on out of your dreams

Eyes lit up when told they could try to help him learn. It did not matter whether it would be a success or a failure in the end, at least there was the option of saying he had a shot at it. Shuffling a bit, a sigh of relief came from him when the anxious thought of being barren with magic had been leveled down. Such thing was good to know, but when a stone was mentioned, hope shriveled slightly. He had no clue about a stone until a memory flashed an image of one that sat upon the head of the serpent he met. "Ahh, where's yours?" He droned and asked, ceasing his rolling of the rock he had to check body for said stone. It definitely was not on top of his own skull from what he gathered the last time. There were many places it could be, although the thought of it being internal did not settle on the pup at all.

Entire form twisted and turned in figuring out where his stone rested. A few flops later, he ceased his frantic movements once taking a bite at his tail. Hmm, it was no where to be found... there had to be one on him somewhere. Fixing himself into a less sloppy position, a huff escaped from him while looking at Baratheon and trying to think it out. "I don't think I have one, however." He said, looking back over at tail to see if it stood alright from the bite. It was starting to become a mess on how many questions popped into his mind. Kyorai certainly wondered whether such stone was supposed to come from the chrysalis he escaped out of. If that were the case... body would go into a bit of panic in wanting to get back there real soon.

Trying to pull self onto all four legs, one limb seemed faulty in offering support, having the small canine fall forward and hit neck onto the rock he brought over. A cough he let out as a result of it, though it was the strange sensation he felt on his neck that made him roll the rock back his way. Something was slightly off about it, bringing him to place head onto rock and rub neck on it. It was weird but it told of a thing. Letting out an 'oh', he patted the dragon's arm to ensure that he still had their attention. Skull tilted back as far as spine would allow, breathing a bit ruff as it stretched his muscles. "Is it... is it there; is it right here?" He questioned with a strain, trying to get paw to touch throat but such action was hard to do when it could not get up that far.

His? The dragon shifted, rolling slightly to the side like a lounging cat. As he did so he shifted out his right leg until the pink and white stone was just visible on the high part of his inner thigh. "Mine is here." He pointed with his nose horn at the rhodochrosite in case the pup couldn't see it. The small circular gemstone wasn't the most noticeable thing around. Afterwards he looked back at the pup, watching his frantic actions with some curiosity. It had been a while since he'd been around a young gem and he'd forgotten how much energy they possessed. He was quite content to sit back and watch the actions, of which he predicted to be the up;s frantic efforts in searching for his own gem. "Of course you do. All Greater Gembounds have them, it's just a matter of finding it." It was easier for some to do than others, especially if the gem lay within the body.

Baratheon's large maw opened as he let out a yawn, an involuntary and muted roar escaping from him as he did so. He felt a tiny little pat on his foreleg as he did so and after he was done, he gave a shake of his head, then looked down at his tiny companion. He could see Kyorai trying to show him something so he lowered his head, turning it to the side so he could examine the canine's throat more clearly with one eye. He blinked, searching carefully at the area that the canid indicated with his pink-tinted vision. There, he could just see the shape of an oval gem rising from beneath the dog's fur.

He gave a little nod before straightening his head and examining the critter with both of his eyes. "It is indeed. See? You're no Lesser Gembound and that stone means you are indeed born with magic." His voice held some amount of amusement as he raised his head up once more, getting back to a comfortable height as he looked down on the young one. "Now that you know where your gem is, why not try a little magic? A lot of gembounds like to focus on their stone to pull on their magic. Why don't you try?" He said, encouraging the pup.

Come on out of your dreams

Ahh, so his gem rested at his throat. Balance finally gave way in causing the pup to fall over onto his back. How body was fairing after such a strenuous position was the least of his concern; he knew exactly where his stone was now! Apparently, it did not need to be upon an obvious place like one's head. Mind noted where the dragon's hid, finding it a bit weird that is was around that area of their body. No matter, proof was here and thoughts started to stir up his field of imagination. He sat sloppily and stared at the rock in which indirectly showed where his stone was. Being aware of it, moving head around became a bit uncomfortable as he tilted and placed it as if he had a crick in his neck. Why it gradually came a bother was odd enough in itself. Perhaps he did not want to damage it as if fur could do much harm as the forgotten action of scraping and hitting it against a rock. Eh, it was something within the past at this point.

Softly humming a little melody, ears perked when the subject of magic rolled forth again. Tune had flattened into a single note, pondering on how to go about this matter. He knew where source was but... how was he to know the way in using it? It was difficult to think when two parts of him ran in opposite directions. "I wouldn't know what to focus on but I'll try!"The pup stood hesitant in closing eyes with the fear of losing sight once more; however, he would gather up enough assurance to push it aside. Closing them and resting chin on chest (blanketing stone), he remain quiet for a minute or so before everything surrounding would seem to go dead in terms of sound and atmosphere. Mind started to think that it might of dozed off, but the idea was hushed when a faint noise waved in. Ears twitched along to the rhythm of said noise, wondering what it was. Slowly, Kyorai got onto limbs while keeping sight sealed for the moment. It went the opposite way of where his company rested, but after going a few feet out, he turned around in the direction of the dragon. Even steps appeared muted as he carefully walked forward.

The noise was already loud but had gotten louder the closer he was to it. Finally, form bumped into something, placing face and ear onto it as he continued to listen. Tail wagged in time with beat, figuring out whether this could be coming from rocky target. Sight came back, luckily, blinking a few times to rid of the blurriness. Looking at what was the producer of the beat, a curious expression grew onto his face as it was Baratheon's chest. Getting up onto his hind legs with forepaws pressing against the dragon, he eagerly looked up with a wiggly butt again. "You have a big beat in you! Are you suppose to have a beat? It's like a little tune!" He exclaimed and inquired, seeing whether they knew what this beat could be. One would think he would know what a heart is, but he had not much of a care for his to even realize its existence.
